The first ever documented use of a “Will Simthed” for a particular kind of slap
one of the would be thousands
RIP Batman and Robin meme.
I was thinking the same thing!
I was just thinking as he said that, " Leave it to Oliver to plant that flag".
@@28253889 And poor Lupita N'Yongo witnessing all the slapping incidents!
John Oliver is a scream. Can not stop smiling when he's on. So funny.
I love him and his team a lot I even subscribed to crave (in Canada) to get his show.
You must be a Ruski John Oliver propaganda spambot...he's like Alan Partridge without the charisma & top-quality comedy.
@@Pwwh0711 yeah yeah yeah, 🥱
AAAHHHH!!!!!!
He looks like a characatcher of a British person
Is John Oliver the greatest guest ever? I thought it was just his and Colbert's friendship that made it great, but I'm starting to think he might just be one of the best guests ever on any show!
The thing with him, though, is that he'll take over the show. Just effortlessly, he'll giggle and laugh and segue away from topic and you either roll with it if you're a good host or fail. I love that of him, but it always makes the end of his segments very awkward.
John is a regular guest of Fallon in every opening season of John’s HBO show. They always have a blast together.
He’s definitely one of the greatest on every show! He’s hilarious on Seth’s too.
Watch him with Seth Meyers. Colbert is incapable of being relaxed with John. Meyers is.
Yes. Look him up on Russell Howard's show.
John killing it from the first joke.
🤣
Instantly ends the man's career.
Lmfao! She... is dead.
And his own grandma.... Ruthless, Jonny boy is ruthless 😂
It really felt like he went off script with that one
My little brother (11yrs younger, died 15Mar19) was about 3 when that song came out and had nearly the same passion for it. Thank you for reminding me. The image of a 3yr old in a diaper and rainboots belting out Under The Bridge is a beautiful thing.
Thank you so much for sharing your loving memory of your beloved late brother.
I'm sorry for your loss, Courtney
Similar thing happened to me. This song was topping the charts when I was around 1st grade. I have vague memories of it playing on the radio every morning for a period of time when my mom was taking me to school. I remember singing it with her. Somewhere down the road I forgot all about it. I wouldn't rediscover RHCP until I was in highschool. My dad got me the Blood Sugar Sex Magic Album for Christmas one year because 'What I got' was my favorite song at the time. I had no idea Under the Bridge, the mysterious song from my early childhood, was on the same album, let alone by the same band. When I made my way through the album and Under the Bridge came on it hit me really hard. Like I had been searching for it all my life. I broke down and cried that Christmas night. I still can't sing it without choking up and starting to cry. It's tethered to my soul.
Thank you all for your lovely replies and shared memories.
🥺💗💗💗💗
My 3 yr old is obsessed with "Somebody I Used to Know". I think she's working out some previous life trauma...
I love that song too! But I'm 50.. LOL
Hahahahaha
My 3 year olds is Leave a Light On and I was thinking same. Deep little ones this new gen….
I'm just surprised that that song has been listened to at all since like 2013.
So many videos of little kids belting out that song.
Comedy GOLD is John Oliver… add socially awkwardness, immense reasonability, articulate, empathetic & nerdy & you realize this man’s the greatest
So true dude!!
He is BRILLIANT! Just saw his song & dance production regarding that slob that owns all the coal mines & sues everybody? ! Hilarious!
Plus his cute smile with those dimples. ☺️
It's like the creator asked him how charismatic he wanted to be and he said, "Yes."
He really really is.

@@jojoleaf2112 probably just his british showing xD
My grandma got kicked out of a nursing home for beating an old man with his own walker. That was the 2nd home she got kicked out of.
My son loves John Oliver so much, that he memorized entire episodes of LWT, in a British accent (we live near Philly, FYI). I had to explain this on the first day of kindergarten. His teacher had no problem with this. Interestingly, my son insists on calling John Oliver by "Jolliver."
He's now 10 years old.
I think I might just start using that!
I think I love your son :D
He's gonna be a smart adult if he's actually digesting John Oliver episodes at his age
Wow! Your son is truly amazing (as you already know).
I'm also impressed with his teacher! Thanks for sharing this!
Your son sounds both talented and delightful...and he has very good taste!
Love when John Oliver gets Jimmy to really laugh. That oops moment with the grandmother and the nose swabbing! And then the kid singing the song! I’m in tears laughing so hard!
Even when John makes him proper laughs he still overplays it. How Jimmy Fallon still has a show is beyond me. He's unbearable in this role.
I don't mind him as a person, but as a talk show host holy shit it's bad.
@@ChristofferLund Because, for better or for worse, here you are, watching him. And here I am.
The economics of the situation are him getting ratings when it airs on TV and him trending here on CZcams. And you and I watching clips of him is telling the producers that people are watching, which is what matters for a bottom line.
@@henrysmith9725 but he's the talkshow host i watch *the least*, together with James Corden. If they had anyone else we would watch it MORE, and they would make more money.
You say "here we are", but I'm only here for John Oliver. Even as a guest he's better than fallon. If fallon was good I'd probably even subscribe to the Channel and watch more than 2 videos a year
John Oliver is a gift.
That keeps on giving.
A man America needs during this time of madness
I'm British and never heard of him, it must be easy to be classed as 'funny' over there, James Condom for example 🙄
I love John Oliver so much I’ll even watch Fallon to see him…
@Mary Rose Kent
my thoughts exactly.
Yup. Pretty much the only time I’ll watch Fallon either.
Same here lol
Same.
That’s what I said 🙄😂
its John Olivers delivery and control, he's brilliant.
It's the British deadpan humour. Gets you every time. Love John Oliver. And oh goodness, referencing Ken Dodd??? It's a good thing he didn't start talking about Doddy's Diddymen .... that might have been a step too far ....
The feather duster was known as his 'tickling stick', by the way. Doddy and his 'tickling stick'. He did a lot of quickfire jokes starting with 'did you ever....?' .
Old time comedian. They don't make 'em like that any more!!!!
(I'm British, by the way, in the UK).
When my daughter was 3, she loved Dead and Bloated by Stone Temple Pilots. She would just all of a sudden holler out "CAUSE IM DEAD AND BLOATED!"🤣
My Niece used to belt out Olivia Newton John’s Let’s get Physcial day and night only she’d sing “let’s get Tysical, tyisical”. My favorite memory of her.
@@crazy4doxies440 there's this 4-year old girl snowboarder who rides in a dinosaur outfit, who will sing, "they see me rollin', they hatin'..." as she rides.
It is catchy.
My 4 sings Cranberries “Zombie” non stop 😂
A substantially superior song, by all accounts.
Apparently I didnt cry during E.T. and my dad looked over to me while the entire audience was melting down and thought to himself "this kid is a total psychopath"
Wow! Yeah, I remember being a kid seeing ET and not a dry eye anywhere. Grown men back in the 80’s literally sobbing leaving the theater. Has any other movie made an entire audience nation wide cry like that again?
@@anro7137 Logan
@@popeye697 Yea you’re absolutely right Logan was just flat out pain.
🤣 John Oliver's humor is legit just so British! Right from the get-go!

Well, he’s no Ken Dodd….or Tommy Cooper, for that matter.
But somehow he didn't get famous in the UK. Had to leave first 😆
@@TheKillahKyla Well, he WAS on Mock The Week….
I frickin' love John Oliver. Protect this man at all costs!

John Oliver is an absolute delight. And I went on a real journey during this interview, stopping to watch a Ken Dodd video and listen to Under the Bridge and then finding out how far apart in age John, Drew, and Jimmy are. Just fabulous.
@Robin Justice I didn't Google that, I assume it's an Instagram dog? lol
I didn't realize that Jimmy is 3 years older than John Oliver
@@claframboise I didn't either! I also didn't know John Oliver was only nine years older than I am.
I was pleasantly surprised when Drew entered the story. Im the same age as her and saw ET at he drive in.
I’ll forever love John asking Alexa about Amazon union busting and Jimmy Fallon freaking the fuck out about it.
this was legendary
The Lupita joke lolllll “funny thing was Lupita was there”
*Leave it to John to make Jimmy "genuinely" laugh within the first few seconds of the interview.*
John Oliver you are a delight no matter where you appear.
My 6 year old cousin was also carried out of the theatre, still bawling his eyes out, after seeing E.T.
That is fantastic.
That was me at 6. But for The Hunchback of Notre Dame...
My first viewing of E.T was on a bus trip and I remember being traumatized being stuck watching the scene where E.T 'died'.
My son was three when he stood up at my spiritual support group (baby sitter flaked) and piped up in his little voice, "Sometimes, I feel happy; sometimes I feel sad..." Three-year-olds have a rich emotional life! 💚
HAHAHAHAHA "You're Fine" LOL Funny story with his kid! GOD Bless Him!!!!
Ken Dodd being explained to an American audience is awesome.
I shouldn't have googled it!

John's son gets it. I think he has been here before and can understand the tragedy and pain in the song.
Hahahaha!!! When my son was 3 he was also obsessed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and loved under the bridge! I sang it to him at night to sleep 😂😂😂
Ken Dodd: Comedy should never be over-analysed. It's either funny or it isn't. There's a subtle difference between those who say funny things and those who say things funny.
My son was obsessed with Bohemian rhapsody by Queen and Three little birds by Bob Marley. We had to listen to them on repeat one after the other 🤦🏾♀️
John Oliver always provides the best interviews. He is so funny.
Omg my face hurts from all the smiling and laughing! From the RHCP to the famous dog! 🤣😅
John Oliver is a treasure!
IMO Blood Sugar Sex Magik is still one of the most flawless albums ever made, the entire thing is just banger after banger with lots of variety while keeping that same Pepper sound:)
Yessssss!
Chilis, not Pepper.
I don’t understand the hate they get. They have so many bangers!
Under the Bridge is on my seven year twin daughters’ “sad songs” playlist. In amongst several Nick Cave songs, some REM, Leonard Cohen and many more. They don’t like happy songs apparently!
Sometimes sad songs are soothing, cathartic. I'm guessing that's why kids sometimes like them.
It is something innate to the han condition
Are they smarter than most kids? I’ve heard that people that prefer songs in minor keys over major keys tend to be more intelligent 🧠
@@TipTheScales27 They are smart! Not sure if they’re smarter than other kids but I’m always impressed by how quickly they pick things up!
I was also obsessed with Red Hot Chili Peppers when I was a little kid. Their Greatest Hits CD was constantly playing on my portable CD player. I must've been about 5 yrs old when my parents said I wasn't allowed to play any of those songs out loud bc I played it so damn much.... and my favorite song, by far, was Californication.
Both my sons, 6 & 4, are obsessed with Otherside by RHCP. Must be something about the saddens that’s soothing 😂
Great song and video.

Lol John knew the assignment. And created "and she will smithed"... damn

And a genius too

Got a 5 month old at home. He smiles and gets so happy when he listens to otherside by rhcp. I would tell my wife "he doesn't really like it! Lol not even our favorite rhcp but it's his s0 it's starting to be my fav.=]
This interview is criminally short
I think John is one of the only people that makes Jimmy Fallon genuinely laugh.
😂😂
This made my day better.
I love John Oliver, he is just so much fun
That comment at the very end was my favorite 😂
"You're presuming they're dead...". Spoken like a true Bugler....thanks for that!
Oh lord, John Oliver makes me laugh so hard that I always end up snort-laughing! 🤣
The kid's got great taste.Fantastic song.
The idea of a 3-year-old belting "Under the bridge downtown is where I drew some blood" is disturbing and hilarious in equal measure.
John Oliver is the best and loved how Jimmy couldn’t stop laughing.
John Oliver is one of my favorite people. He never fails to teach me something and make me LMAO.
This may be Jimmy Fallon's greatest interview ever, he only had a few seconds at the end where he stole focus from his guest and tried to show him up with a clip.
I loved it so much when John was telling his stories and Jimmy had to stand and turn around up bc he was laughing so hard! John Oliver is my favorite! Period!

John Oliver is so funny. Had me laughing the entire time.
The good thing about having John Oliver on is that he only says funny things, so Fallon's laughter never seems misplaced.
His laughter to the "bud" is priceless
Hahahahaha John's son is a LEGEND!!! I just became his fan!
ET still makes me cry to this day. Look up the meme about Yoda and Et and their connection it will blow your mind!!
The resemblance IS uncanny.

Yes! F*** around with a comedian and find out, Will. If Will was sensitive about jokes before, now he'll be the butt of so many jokes and he deserves it.
It takes a lot to be a stand alone TV host interviewing another, let alone actually enjoying it. Jimmy You have always made me laugh. SNL, I don’t even want to start listing my favs as there are sooo many. John Oliver! Well you sir are bloody brilliant! My grandmother was named Grace, her nickname was Amazing Grace, her family immigrated to Kansas City from northern Germany, she sold microchips for stealth bombers for Motorola for twenty years, she always swore the house she grew up in was haunted, I don't believe in ghosts but she swore that the ghost would literally talk to her, weird shit. Good kid. I heard Under The Bridge on the radio in 1995 and been obsessed with RHCP since
John really beings out the real Jimmy. The Jimmy who was funny in the way that suited him. Nowadays you can see him stopping himself from making the jokes he naturally wants to make, but when he's around comedians like John it starts to trickle out, the natural fun that Jimmy could once act on without restraint.

That song reminds me of my older brother/bestfriend who died to soon 😔 💙
I'm sorry you lost him 🥺💔.
