- Can Kara ride down a DOUBLE BLACK trail!?
Cannop Bikepark in the Forest of Dean has some of the most fun downhill MTB trails available for all riding abilities. Recently some of the trails have had a revamp including G.B.U jump lines so everything was running perfectly! I decided it was time to push Kara's ability and see if she could ride the double black trails called "cougar".
There are a a selection of trails at Cannop Bikepark ranging from technical down hill lines, fast flow jump lines and steep sections, whether your a beginner or advanced mtb rider, Cannop is awesome!

That looked like a fun day out. That double cheeseburger looked just as good as the trails. The rampage lines always look cool as does the no foot can. Kara rode Cougar really well.

I'm gonna stick my neck out here. That Cougar trail, looks more like a red to me. Apart from the step down at the end, it looks reddish.
Though, it does look like loads of fun.
yeah, i have to agree. However, i think it was a 2 dot trail before,as well as ski run, which im guessing is around red difficulty but now are somehow classified as double blacks. recently all of the trail ratings have increased during the time that a lot of trail refurbishment was going on. if i had to guess, it would be to make sure the new families and new riders coming from the green trails dont send it down a trail that might be too difficult for them and end up injured.
for those wondering. Cougar is NOT a double black by any bike park means. FOD has ridiculous rating systems lmao
The grading systems here in the uk vary so much! I think most black trails in the UK are only red in other countries!🤟

Fod has the worst rating system, it’s a techy red at best, a double block diamond anywhere else even in uk would actually be difficult

the only trail changes was that they flattened the road gap (althouh i think it was due to some electricity line issues) and removed the little stone gap/drop at the bottom jumps.
