- Is this the most INSANE jump ever that has been built by Nico Vink!?
We decided it would be great fun to escape the winter blues in the UK and take a short trip over to Spain so we could hit the dry trails. In this video we ride the super cross line before heading up the hill to find the pro line. This line is built by Nico Link and is a loose fest style line with insanely HUGE jumps and the most interesting corkscrew feature! I am using my fully custom Ghost RIOT full party enduro bike to tackle these dream MTB trails!
I hope that you enjoy this video!

Great job Tom. And as for the need to look to each other for guidance and support.....well said. What a lovely way to demonstrate and show by example. 😎
Thanks for the kind words dude!
This was an amazing insight into how truly technical and massive these courses are getting. Good on you for showing a real battle, and not just throwing the footage away. You will be back for sure! Cheers from CA! 🤙🏼
You'll get it dude! Watched a few vids on this and I'm certain you're going faster than other riders who have cleared it. Follow some guys in next time you're there and you've got it 💪
That is an insane jump, love the idea of it, very clever thinking. The speed you were going round it is crazy and you will probably fly 200ft out of the lip but like you say, knowing the speed is so important so to follow someone would make doing that so much easier, good luck when you get back to it.
Agreed, especially as someone a few days before overclear by miles!
@@TomCardy Are they still alive.
I have such immense respect for people who have a tremendous amount of control over their skill.
Tom clearly is one of these impressive people in the bike world, but what I find more impressive is the "control" and approach of the process.
To be able to articulate what you're doing, why, what risks you're identifying, how you assess for yourself - so others can learn and keep themselves safe is beyond impressive and meaningful to viewers like me.
Thanks and mad respect.
Great call! That feature is so insane and hearing your impression of the maxing speed going into those G's was gnarly. Better safe and calculated than sorry! 🤙
Good job knowing when to call it. You definitely wouldn't want to risk another big injury again.
Mate well spoken u never see people walk away I guess things just get bigger and harder but it does look mega, having seen u many times at twisted I have no doubt that it’s well be within ur realm to take a rain check is a pro move in my eyes,
🤟👌
Thanks dude! The sport progresses fast and in lots of different ways! Hard to keep up with them all!
I am happy you looked at this jump, tested the run up, and realized it's not worth the risk. I feel like in our sport people go at stuff with a "Just Send It" attitude. A true professional like yourself knows when to come back another time and like you said, wait until you are with others who can ride it and see how they do it or even follow them into it to learn the speed.
I was at "Drop The Hammer" over a year ago in Bentonville, AR USA and I really wanted to do the big drop, but I was by myself and didn't know the speed to approach it at so I didn't try it. And I know I can do it. But my biggest concern is going too fast and landing way down at the bottom of the downside.
Thanks for sharing and helping others understand that it's okay to not try something if you are not feeling it.
Shows your professionalism to asses and feel comfortable in what your trying to achieve walk away to not do it at this point is a strength not a weakness good on ya lad for trying live to try another day 👍👍👍
Fair play Tom, you could have thrown caution to the wind and just gone for it, but that would have been massively risky. I remember your bad crash a couple of years back, and how long you had to be out to recover. Massive respect for knowing your own limits.
You got it next time bro! No shame in walking away and coming back to it 🤘🏼
Agreed! Let’s ride soon dude!
@@TomCardy 100% let’s get a plan sorted 👌🏽
Live to ride another day. As you said, following someone who has already got it sussed is the key.
looked like berm needed watering and you needed a tow in, good shout for leaving it .
your best video yet great stuff i’m moving to spain later this year can’t wait to ride this bike park
Massive respect to you Cardz. We know and you know that the skills aren’t an issue it’s just trying to work something out on your own is the obstacle. I always get a tow in on new features so it’s impressive you gave it an hours commitment 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Surely there's got to be a more rad name for " the toilet bowl" hahaha 🤣... how about " the shoot into space jump " or " the iguana tongue" lol.... awesome vid dude cheers to you 🤟🎶
Don’t sweat it Tom, Sergio took me to see that 360° last October… it’s massive!
I would never touch it!
Right decision 👌
Thanks dude!
Huge respect for not killing yourself on something you aren't sure about
Thanks dude!
Great vid and looking forward to seeing you back to have another crack
Thanks! I’ll head back soon!
That looks so fun. I saw it about 15 mins before your vid popped up, that’s so cool❤😂😂😂
Hope you enjoyed it!
Respect bro
🤟🤟
Im totally with you on things like this if your not feeling it dont do it its not worth the risk of crashing and getting hurt and at this point you walked away safe and ready to come back and do it again next time! Takes a lot of skill to know when to just say next time
G force going crazy
Damn these look fun!
So good there!
Great video and I think we all have empathy with your humanity to not completing something you so very much want to - crikey I had one of those today out on a red descent and ruined my confidence.
I do feel though that this comes from too much eMTB and the reliance of the motor giving you the higher average speed so perhaps more hours on a non-e Enduro would give you that push to have carried that speed in the bowl.
Anyway - you (and Kara) are so inspiring and always get me back out riding the next day 👍🏻
Well done Tom that was a hectic gap but I reckon you and Sam should go back and get Sam to take you though it
Honestly you and Sam make the best content and it would make a really good video
sick
Thanks!
The dreammmmmm
Yo!🤟
good call that just show me that those jumps must be really massive
Thanks dude! They are big!
I get ya with this Tom that berm is like one I have in my woods it’s intense hitting it at full speed the strength it takes to hold a good position and focus on where your going too is really hard iv had some experiences and mines just over a 180 berm too
Yea super hard to ride and get your head around!
Damn, wanted to get some tips of ya when i saw that vid go live
Haha if you do it first you can give me some tips!
I went last year but had no chance to check it out, going again in Feb and will defo go have a look
Maybe next time you should bring Sam and some free bike with you so he can show how to send that line properly! :)
Haha yea! He would do it first go on a freeebbbb!
You should get down to royal hills bike park to ride the fest line there. Bigger jumps but less tech
Yes! I wanna try do that, gain some more experience on jumps that size before hitting technical huge ones haha!
Having ridden a Velodrome at high speed, I would suggest doing bench press and squats at the gym to get the extra strength for the compression in that corner. Cheers from Montreal
Fr😂😂😅😅😅
I'm not trying to insult Tom, I am a Sub. Hope he takes it the right way@@markokozaric
@@cclemoyne4033 why would that be offending ????!?!!!?!!?!
@@cclemoyne4033 wtf?
Yea my legs were fully compressed which made it hard to jump! It also makes you loose where you are are it whips around super fast then you just see a big mount of dirt!
Will you ever do Darkfest ?
Must be big if the lady sweater hesitates!!
Hey Tom Cardy, just wondering if you have heard of Tom Cardy the musician?
be good to see you go back with Sam
Yea! He would smash it!
Go city trails soon
Did not do it? What 😮
No worries Tom rather have you in one piece
Legend! Thanks!
Looks massive and awkward (title of ya sex tape), but also very cool. The speed you need to hold to get around and jump is crazy!
We have a pretty rad smaller reverse version at my local that I will never have skills to be able to ride, still appreciate the crap out of crazy features though!
Whey! Smaller one sounds super fun! 🤟
@@TomCardy it looks awesome - it’s in reverse so it’s a step down jump at the start. Can see the first hit (still too fresh n soft) at end of this guys reel: instagram.com/reel/C17qJwfB-Um/?igsh=MTUzMWhvZmE4MW1xeA==
Yep that's definitely a jump no one should do if they're not confident about it. I would definitely just look at it and go that's not for me. Ripping that berm though would be awesome fun.
Excuses excuses excuses!
No excuses! I diddnt have it! I’ll be the first to say that mate!🤟
@@TomCardy fair enough mate,I love whatever you you do regardless 🫂
Just jump it. You done much crazier jumps before. You had the speed. You just need to commit. Honestly, I can't believe you need special permission to ride that. I rode pump tracks that were more gnarly than that. Down voted.
