In life " you at least get some interesting video game boxes " ... lol :) I'm getting the " Hyper Base " 5tb from amazon - next week !!! emulation heaven !! total nostalgia .. like I said - " At least in life you get 50,000 retro games.!!! lol : 0
this one complete's my collection!!
I ordered the 12tb version of this from Ali Express "Playnite 12T ", I was very excited, unfortunately the hard-drive enclosure was non-functionable. They are sending me a replacement enclosure. I'm not sure what was wrong with the one the sent, wouldn't power on. I looked at the model they game me and it said it supported up to 10tb, the hard drive is 12tb. Hopefully I can check it out as soon as i get the new enclosure..
Was wandering if you can play Star Wars Trilogy on this build. I have Retrostation 4TB PC4U build that Model 2 and Model 3 do not work. It really looks like a great 5tb build. Thanks for the great video.
Cant wait to plug this in with the ace magician gaming pc
does it contain the bug free shadow man 2 and drakan GATE ps1 ps2. on pcx2 its bugged. sm2 are about 2xx mb only. does itt support game genie game shark ps2 gc action replay codes enabler ?
thanks for the video! How well does it run on a Mac?
What's a good one that has wii and wii u games on it.. i noticed this one was missing those games 🤔?
Hi, i have a new gaming laptop and the games mainly in launch box, stutter and slow down. After a while some get better. Any ideas? Thanks.
I was playing rastan using a ps4 controller and the button settings got messed up, does anyone know how to fix? If I press square button it will open master volume 0db option at the bottom of the screen
Hello! I currently have no audio and was wondering if you can use your OWN emulator to play the games. Does the hard drive have the ISO, ROM, etc files of the games themselves?
Purchase link is no longer working :(
RetroBat the best FrontEnd so far
I ran a virus scan on this before i played any games now nothing loads retrobat does nothing and launch box games will not load what did i do wrong?
The light gun games there are working with sindan gun?
Thank You for taking the time to review, was super helpful. Can you add missing ROMS to the Launchbox collection?
You certainly can. Launchbox makes it very easy to add roms.
@@RetroGamingGuy Thank You so much.
I recently bought this exact model and got it delivered from China. Looks excellent but the only downside was when I ran my anti-virus software over the drive - it took over an hour and a half with 5tb to chew through - it eventually found 14 files with embedded malware, all in the Playnight section. As I don't care about the PC games and didn't buy it for those I'm not too upset and will probably delete the whole PC games folder anyway.
Could you possibly list the 12 files that are corrupted so I can delete them? :)
Which antivirus software were you using?
@@joshuasavoy7443 Malwarebytes Premium
Emulation station and launcher are both showing as having malware through avira, windows defender and the Synology antivirus.
That makes sense since games in playnight is pirated. Alot of pirated games will give false positives from anti virus. but honestly All i care about is the retro titles. id probably deleted all that crap for extra space on drive
how about put it on a ssd drive. would the copy of files work on a new ssd drive 8 tb or higher ?
Amazing!
I notice that when you play the games, that you don't have a full screen, can you change it to full screen?
I have a dumb question. Can you use any contrller with it? Like ps5/xbox?
There is some 16TB drives full of games with much PS3 & XBOX360, & most of the PS2 XBOX GAMECUBE DREAMCAST games loaded, available on internet
I got scammed by one of those stores that say they do that so be careful, the name was RetroMini Store.
Just got this delivered yesterday and none of the ps1 games will load at all and i cant figure it out
anyone know if this has the pinball fx2 and fx3 games as well ?
How much space on the 5TB HD is used?
I know I'm a little late to the commenting on this video (was behind by 8 videos, yikes!), but I was wondering about the light gun games. I am unaware of what light gun to use on a PC or do you just use the mouse which I doubt. Any thoughts on this?
I like using the sinden light gun but a Wii remote with a mayflash dolphin bar works nicely too
will it come trough the toll tull pst contol in europe as a usual hdd ? many consoles are getting stopped blocked NOW.
Idk how they declare it probably just a storage drive
could i use this on the steam deck
I have been haveing problems with all launchbox games, with stuttering. I have a mini pc (mini forums Venus series um690) with Ryzen 9. Are these specs not good enough to run this or do I need to dl some type of software?… I’ve been trying to figure this out a few hours a day for about 2 weeks and stumped. Please need some direction.
I have the same issues. Wonder if it's anything to do with the amount of games on the drive and the computer not reading the drive quick enough as you play the game. After a few goes, if I exit and start again it's more like it should be.
Nice video. Would a, amd ryzen 5 with a, GeForce gtx I5 laptop play these games? Essentially saturn and n64, ps2? Also this looks like one ofcthe cleanest builds I've seen on CZcams. No double games?
Very clean! No doubles that I came across aside from some titles that were released on multiple consoles which I'm cool with. You should be good with that laptop. Ps2 may need settings adjustments but I'm not certain.
@@RetroGamingGuy what about saturn?
An AMD ryzen 5 with on-board graphics should be fine even.
Why does the audio not work on any of the retrobat emulated games? Im I the only one that has this problem? Iv'e tried going through every setting. Cant get in game audio. I love the game selection but geez. Need audio. Frustrating.
can be run through an android box rather than a PC??
Have you tried the Jaguar, R.E.A.L. 3DO or CD-i emulators? Im mostly interested in those systems since they seem to be the hardest to get an easy to use solid emulator for.
I have they run pretty well. I just tried some on a build I reviewed last night video should be out tomorrow or Sunday
@@RetroGamingGuy Can't wait to see that! I only wanna try a few Jag games, some CD-i and maybe obscure 32x or 3DO games. Maybe play them for 15 or 20 minutes, have a laugh or something then put it away.
Hardly something worth pouring hundreds or thousands of dollars into.
There is an EXE in the playnite folder that is caught by a lot of antivirus defenders called: 开始启动. Anyone know what it is?
so many retros, which one is best?
Can this be hooked up to a ps4 or games console, or do you need to purchase a separate PC?
Separate pc
What do you consider a better deal? This or the $100 Retrobat (100,000) HDD you reviewed recently?
They're pretty much dead even. I have some more reviews coming that I think might be better than both honestly based on the little playing around I've done so far.
Hello, I'm a little late to this, but I have a question if I may:
I'm trying to run this drive on a pretty good PC, and while the games launch, they are super slow when playing (both video and audio). Even NES games don't run correctly - as I am new to this, I have no idea where to begin to help fix this. I would greatly appreciate any input on things I can do to solve the issue. Thank you!
You need a somewhat powerful pc. There's no real set specs you need but usually decent ghz and a graphics card is a big help
Thank you very much for the response. That being said, my PC is definitely powerful enough - just not working correctly. I am not sure if there is maybe something in the background hindering its ability to work well. Any thoughts or ideas? Thank you again.
@mfresh3677 why dont u post the specs of ur pc? ..instead of just saying the games run poorly.
Seems like people that have been pronounced on malware and viruses.
I was gonna order it but I don't need these problems.. By the way, can you use a playstation and xbox controller for this?
Hey Retro Gaming Guy, great video as usual! I've seen where the PS3 is a hidden system within Launchbox on this build. Did you happen to know this and test it out and if you did, what are your thoughts?
Hey there, thanks. I didn't see ps3 on here anywhere.
@@RetroGamingGuy My bad, I'm thinking about the JMachen 2tb system build for Windows, which I think you reviewed just recently. Sorry for cornfusion lol.
How much are you 6tb game system
Is this for assuming my regular PC cant handle the games? Can i just download launchbox myseld and add stuff? What's the plus to having this?
The plus is everything is setup for you and includes all the games but no reason you can't do it on your own if you wish.
Pac-Man must be stopped
Can you plug it on a ps3
I got mine last week and most of the PC games don't work30\70, ordered an even bigger custom collection from another place and got scammed of all my savings so be careful. It was called: RetroMini Store
How can u connect this to the shadow pc
Not familiar with that pc
I found in Launchbox my N64 games ran poorly, yet work fine in my retrobat build, so wiped my 5tb drive nd filled it with retrobat, kept the N64, PS1, etc games from Launchbox. It makes it clumbersome having 3 in 1 systems
That's interesting. I guess there's strengths and weaknesses to the different systems. I figured that would be the case but expected that to happen on higher collections than n64.
So are you saying you have this particular product and we're able to use all of the included ROMs from the retro bat front end? I had wondered about being able to do that since I agree that the three different front ends just makes it a mess. I want all my retro games presented in the same user interface.
Yeah kept the n64, ps1,psp, etc roms from the lunchbox as these are bigger collections than I have allready rather than copy the roms from my other Chinese hdd's I looked for the other roms. Only a couple of systems I did copy from my other Chinese hdd's over. I find running everything in retrobat in windows runs far superior. Aldo wiped the pc games. Have over 106000 games although some maybe duplicates. Dalphe games got working, says 51 games, but less as unzipping each contains other files needed. But my build has all the videos, themes and game manuals, something these Chinese builds lack, so look half finished. The video clips adds to the who experience and manuals are worth the download
@HeavyInstinct correct, which is why I redone it all as a retrobat build. Runs so much better than using lunchbox.
@@denodan Good to know. Thanks!
I don't see this listing being around for long with it trying to sell pirated games that aren't even a year old. It's easy to look the other way when it's a bunch of retro games that can be difficult to legitimately get today, and that don't even exist outside of the secondary market. But the Playnite part this "product" has a bunch of PC games that have been released recently, and are still sold on Steam, Epic Games, etc.
The "value" is all in pirated games, because at $220 you're *massively* overpaying for a USB HDD. These 2.5" HDDs top out at 5TB, and even than will only cost you around $100-130. This drive is almost certainly smaller. So you're basically paying $100-150 for someone to copy/paste a bunch of pirated games onto a cheap HDD. Maybe if this was a small upcharge for the retro game collection, but the price tag and inclusion of pirated 2022 games makes this super shady.
Not familiar with the pc titles on play rite at all. Didn't even realize they are newer titles. People pay for these because they're plug and play. It's not so much the roms or the drive itself it's the time people don't want to spend putting it together themselves. I'm not speaking for myself as I've build my own setups from scratch but they did take me over 6 months to get completed. Some don't want that time spent on it or don't have the time or ability.
@@RetroGamingGuy I totally get the convenience factor. That's even what makes some of the handheld retro devices nice, because you could also just install an emulator on your phone and download any ROMs you want.
Moving to an HDD, and majorly upcharging for it, to have space for a bunch of modern games are the red flags for me. It would make more sense as a USB flash drive with just the retro games. They could probably get away with a bigger profit margin selling cheap flash drives for $40-80.
170 bucks on ali express - that's why I pulled the trigger
Can I use my bluetooth controller on this?
Yep
So basically it's a cheap harddrive in a enclosure with pirated ROMs . Not 2 bad
Ali express $170 💪🏼
Rip no wii games
What do you look like hat-less?
Like I do with a hat...but without it 💀. Jk I have older videos without hats. 👍🏻
2TB seemed better
Can u please help me
Gone from Amazon
Just moved...

How is this even legal
Emulation in general isn't when it comes to all those preloaded setups but is anybody really enforcing it? Not really. Also most of these games are not available anywhere these days. If they aren't being sold anymore it doesn't really impact the rights holders. Certainly a controversial topic and can be viewed many dif ways.
Playnite? What about, shugnite
This product is garbage why you not showing high demanding game like paper mario or smash ? mario kart is not demanding game to emulate.I like your content but men can you be more clear product review
What exactly would him showing "high demanding" games tell you about the product. It's only a hard drive with a collection of ROMs on it. Performance is going to be completely dependent on the PC you connect it to.
Can you be more clear English?
