I talked to a woman I met in a bar who said she was a Republican and tried to make fun of Biden by saying he couldn’t even talk. I asked her if stumbling over a few words had anything to do with character and whether the character of a politician mattered to her. She admitted that stumbling over a few words had nothing to do with character and that character did matter a great deal to her. So I asked her how good the character of a person with 14 pending civil lawsuits and 5 pending criminal lawsuits, who admitted cheating on every spouse, who lies constantly, who tried to overthrow a legitimate election, who all but admitted cheating on his taxes could possibly be? She said not good at all. So then I asked her why she was a Republican and she said because she’d been raised that way from when she was little. I asked her if she thought it was right for parents to force their politics on a child before the child can even decide and she admitted that was not a good thing for parents to do. So next I asked her if she had really studied the issues and she admitted she had not. So I briefly went through some of the issues without telling her where each party stood on the issues and after she had sided with the Democrat position on every issue, I explained that to her. Finally, I suggested that rather than vote based on how she was indoctrinated as a child, wouldn’t it be better if she studied the issues for herself and then voted for the candidate who held the same positions that she did. She admitted that would make more sense. All this being said, after 15 minutes of cordial talking and use of logic, I may have actually converted someone or at the least, got them to study the issues so she knows where she and the candidates stand on the issues. Very proud of myself and I hope to have another chance to do it again.

I don't see that happening a ton with these idiots. it'll happen from time to time, for sure, but it'll be a whole lot of effort for mccarthy to herd those cats every single time only to have everything spiked back in their faces by the senate. i don't see them being able to sustain that over the next two years. they all loathe mccarthy right now and that will diminish, but the sedition caucus doesn't seem the forgive-and-forget type. they'll be screaming about what a RINO he is all day, every day.. plus, if perry and gosar and biggs get indicted for their roles in january 6th, AS THEY SHOULD... it's going to be an interesting two years, at least.

Totally disagree because you are looking at progressives as extreme when what they're fighting for is health care and edu for all, eradicating money from politics (the root of our problems and promoted by every centrist), a strong policy on the environment and equality for all.
