Madeon shows a fascinating stylistic contrast from his childhood rival, Porter Robinson. As they've highlighted in the past how difficult their collaboration efforts always were because of their conflicting tastes, this album showcases Madeon's taste for contemporary edm. His brand focuses more on consistency and crafted perfection over adventurous experimentation, making for a fascinating album experience in the large context.

The comparison between Porter and Madeon is derived from “worlds” and from Madeon’s first album “adventure”. You should def check out adventure and you’ll see why. Also great vid! I will definitely be subbing to your channel!
Ivan Garcia ^^^ This. As a long time Porter and Madeon fan Worlds and Adventure have a lot of overlap. but with Good Faith and Porter’s new album Nurture we’re seeing each of them explore their own sounds deeper and while still retaining that “essence” of their past music.
Madeon vocals are mostly all him with a very intricate vocal filter, only vocal features that he's stated is Callie Day doing the soulful vocal chops in Dream Dream Dream and Audra Mae in Heavy with Hoping

"Adventure" is where all started
Good Faith & Worlds are phenomenal albums, but you really need to react to their live shows (Worlds Live, Shelter Live, Good Faith Live). The visuals, lighting design, and live edits are second to none and those live shows are my favorite of all time.
Luke Hall do you think they would make a good reaction video? Or would you rather I watch them multiple times and do a detailed review of both?

@@marnotreally I think you will need to listen to Madeon's first record Adventure first and then watch Shelter Live because half the setlist is Adventure. Good Faith Live also has some songs from Adventure. Adventure is my favorite album of all time but it's very EDM and you might not enjoy it much but you can give it a try

I’m still amazed by how fundamentally different they are! Porter is more my style, as I’m a sucker for experimental and long cuts but the cleanliness and sheer perfection of Madeon’s tracks makes them SUPER special.
Another great reaction and analysis. I think you need to check out adventure and then shelter/ shelter tour and you will be amazed how much the songs work together to form this incredible experience I was lucky enough to see myself live. As many have have said it is the live shows that makes porter and madeon stand head and shoulders above anyone.
Madeon - Adventure is a definite listen! It'll be interesting to go from Good Faith back to Adventure knowing what style he would produce several years after it.

Well, my new year’s resolution was to indulge in new music and EDM was always kind of distant to me. Porter was recommended to me by a friend and Porter fans have been nothing but polite and understanding. So it’s sort of good for me and people who watch! Don’t get me wrong, I will never make a video I don’t want to make (several videos didn’t make it past recording).
I try my best to be honest but respectful. I’m not critical by nature. I’m more passionate. I identify more with Tabby’s and TC’s way of talking about music rather than Shawn Cee or Fantano. I have great respect for all but, I usually try to see the good instead of the bad and I try my best to refrain from scoring unless absolutely essential.
Really enjoyed this review, and your review style as well. As some who both loves worlds and Good Faith, I agree that Worlds hits higher highs and Good Faith is more consistent. I think for me it's because as you said, Worlds is an album that has a lot of emotion behind it, and to me good faith is just an extremely fun, beautiful journey. I literally cannot pick a favorite song out of Good Faith, or even one to eliminate, but there are definitely a few tracks on Worlds that aren't in the running for me personally.
If you are going to take a look at his good faith live show, I would listen through adventure first, because to me his live show is kinda the culmination of those two albums, much like how Daft Punk's alive 2007 show was a culmination of their first three albums(which I would also recommend btw.)
I would def check most of the discog out before I get into the live stuff. I know the live experiences are much more full and improved so they’ll be a little treat when all is said and done! I’ve heart a lot of daft punk but never really given them proper album listens so I’m curious to head there!

You should check out the Hi This Is Flume Mixtape! I think if you're looking for like a more experimental electronic sound, that albums definitely one of the best of recent memory id say. Pretty quick listen as well. Keep up the great work!

I remember when Dream Dream Dream dropped, after All my Friends; which to my friend and I wasn't that great of a song when first released (considering that it had been 4 years since he released music, his last album Adventure came out in 2015). AMF grew on me, I started to love it... But Dream x3... Holy shit, that song sold me on this album, it was probably one of the best single drops in a long time imo. Good Faith is one of the best albums of the past decade, hands down. I would love to see a reaction when Porter's new album "Nurture" drops. I'm so hyped for it, I love every song so far that he has released and teased. Good shit dude.

"rivals" lol i've been listen to porter and madeon since 2011 and good faith, my first listening i really didn't connect with it, grow in me a lot now is like my favorite album for 2020.

Oh you really need to react to Adventure, it has a different sound, way more EDM-ish but still with a pop structure. And of course his pre-adventure singles that made him famous (some of them are included in the Adventure's Deluxe Edition).

I would love for you to react to some of Madeon's continuation with the Good Faith era. He released a remix of NFNM with Earthgang, The Prince which was the first song he made during the Good Faith era that didn't make it to the album, and his secret LP that could only be found solving about half a year to a year's worth of ARG and puzzles (it's available online as a vinyl rip). Still excited for the remainder of this era especially for the song Love You Back that was cut from the album tracklist last minute. Definitely check out the full Good Faith live show. It's expands from the album so much and was painstakingly crafted alongside the album production. Glad that you enjoyed his style and album. Give Shelter and Adventure a check and Porter is planning to release his new album soon, so I'm looking forward to that

Sony WH-CH700N, I bought them last year! Noise cancelling isn’t the best but the audio quality is excellent! They’re second tier Sony Headphones under the mainline but they’re competitive in price if you don’t really care about noise cancelling.

Is it just me or does the audio in this video make it sound like you are playing the music through a fan? The music sounds weird compared to when I listen to it. also, Madeon sings his own vocals, there are some features but mostly its his voice!
I run it through a bit of a filter to try and avoid it being blocked. Copyright claims are fine by me but blocking is rough. Don’t you worry, I hear them fully pure and as the artist intended! This is just run through a premier filter. I admire Madeon for that! He should keep on doing it, I feel like all my favourites were his and same with porters.
