the locomotive from the 2013 film is by far my favorite with its aggressive looks, a railroad icebreaker and its 1930s style that I love!

the train from the 2013 movie is for sure my favorite, its locomotive seems to be furious as it drills through the snow. even the tv show locomotives are much more stable and strong. But But the locomotive in the movie still enchants me.

Why do they have rods on the wheels but don't make any steam sound or whatsoever (eg when we see Snowpiercer departing and leaving Wilford). Big alice doesn't have any rods as far as I know.

Difference between the trains, And my general opinion.
The movie train looks like its based off of 30s art deco trains, Brilliantly modernized to suit the 21st century. Unlike the Netflix train, It looks like an actual luxury liner and not some sci-fi prototype.
I believe its around 100 - 120 cars long, Based of what we see in the movie. I like that it doesn't include wheel rods, But instead has a weird bogie setup with working suspension for some odd reason.
I feel like its more luxury then the Netflix train as well, Because of materials like wood and the small golden etched details. The exterior is also on the more luxurious with the red details that separate the cars. The only thing I'm upset about on the train are the silver details on the nose of the train, Kind of looks ugly. I have no idea what the power source of the movie train is, But I assume its nuclear powered. Either that or its that electricity goes to the wheels, Wheels spin which makes electricity and the loop goes on.
The Netflix train is a different kind of luxury. I like to believe that its based off of the UP Big Boy 4014 mixed with the Mercury train in a modernized fashion. It looks very streamlined and elegant,
But the 70kph cruising speed is questionable for the design. I believe that its so slow due to the increased size and 1001 cars, Plus insane weight. I believe that its art deco inspired simply because of the wheel housing teardrop shape, A common art deco feature of the 1930s in the automobile industry. Its an elegant different kind of luxury décor then that of the movie train.
The interiors are more of a modern luxury, Unlike the movie train. I prefer the modern interiors over the glamorous colorful interiors of the movie train. Just like the movie train, I have no idea what the power source is, But unlike the movie train, I'm almost certain that its nuclear powered. The only thing that boggles me about the nuclear power theory are the wheel rods, Maybe indicating that its electric powered, But that doesn't explain the insane size of the engine. Electric power would be underpowered.
Big Alice is a fat ugly prototype, Nothing special about it other then the fact that the engine is in the rear. Rear engine trains are bad because you can't see the front of the train, Especially in a dystopian winter land. I believe its nuclear powered, But the wheel rods on the SP engines boggles me.
Overall, I prefer the Netflix snowpiercer because its the most up to date version of the trains. I love sci-fi, And the Netflix train is exactly what I imagine when I think of a luxury liner train.
I also prefer the interior choices of the Netflix snowpiercer because it looks modern, And not outdated.

The Movie train is more like a luxury streamlined. Locomotive unlike the tv show which is basically a cruise ship on wheels also The TV and movie trains have their own way as a keeping the wheels in place. The movie train Has Some form of rods and interesting bogees and Wheel designs If you're to believe the art you can see on Google. It's like it's some form of armored plates covering the wheels Doesn't really see that Well, put together in the fact that it kind of looks all over the place. Basically it's only there to keep the wheels in line The tv locomotive has wheelroads probably Because you know you're not really replacing the wheels anytime soon And the rods could keep the wheels in place for longer

@@DarthVader11072 not to start a problem here but... they didn't really expect this to be the effect of stoping global warming by using geothermal engenearing, in fact the train was made to have around 300 cars only having the 1st class cars and the last being things such as gardens and farms, when wilford decided yo extend the train by adding 701 more people called him crazy for doing so because they believed in the science so much that they took it as a certain. yeah sure if people were to wisen up and thought about what could be the aftermath of realeasing such gasses into the atmosphere then maybe atleast some government's would have done something like bunkers but because of how fast the cold happened i dont think they would have had the time to make a bunker, hell i dont think they'd be able to think of making one since they already had they're escape plan..

@@jumpsneak as far as I’m aware there is not much parralel track how could they recoup le and also they destroyed the car the aquarium car is still attached to the back end and can’t be detached without possible detailing a car so the train won’t be able to reattach they will be separate but that won’t be a problem it will be removed for recoupling and there are people still on big Alice we are considering all cars that are powered by big Alice like Ruth and Melanie May still be alive she has the icy bob thing

If I were to make a snow piercer movie it would be about the uprise of humanity. After the destruction of their own planet by their own hands, there would be very few select bunkers near the capitals of multiple countries. The only thing that is able to transport you from place to place are these magnificent hunks of steel on rails. They would been used as a perpetual home if you can't live in those bunkers The story would be about Trying to get the Bunkers to popularly communicate And to start building humanity after its fall

If they make a 4th season, it should be about them recovering all of Snowpiercer's lost or destroyed cars as well as rerailing Big Alice and recovering its 3 lost cars.
The show is very underrated. . It deserves to be mentioned near the big tv shows like breaking bad, game of thrones etc. . Sean Bean as Wilford is just too incredible. . And obviously all the other great actors, Lena Hall writing her own music for the show too, performing as Audrey. Jennefer Connelly as Melanie, beautiful and smart. . Steven Ogg surprisingly putting more depth into his character, than just being the ‘’insane Psychopath’’. I don’t know how the marketing for the show was so bad, but the show deserved much more attention that’s for sure. Probably the most underrated Series out there, and much much better than the movie which I have seen like 7-8 years ago. TV Show has much more depth in anything, which well is obviously easy to say since a TV show has more Screen Time than a Movie. . But no, the TV Show gave me deep connections with Themes similar to other shows like The Expanse, Lost or the 100. . Anyways I am really hoping the 4th Season will get released soon enough. . Until then, I am excited to see the continuation of Snowpiercer. . 1025 Cars Long.

I agree. But the issue is the fact that the snowpiercer cars are attached to each other. They are only able to de detached with several layers of confirmation from the engine. This is not even starting to consider the actual size of the engine. It would be the size of a UP Challenger. Also, there would be issues with the car problem. With all the sets, they only have a fraction if the car amount, but what about the 1000 cars snowpiercer has, even if you shortened it to just 20 cars, can you imagine how expensive that would be to produce? Also, there is the issue of there being two incarnations of the Snowpiercer.

@@Bodermantbg He said sets, as in, things that you could buy for your model layout. No doubt it would look cool, and would feasibly function as an actual snowplow, I would know. I 3d printed a front and attached it to a lego train, and it performed admirably. I also neglected one crucial fact. Snowpiercer is HUGE. If you look closely in the video, we see Melanie next to the Front of Big Alice. She is TINY. They would have to introduce a completely new guage to gave even a close to accurate scale
