In this episode of the advanced perspective drawing series I create some example drawings applying what we have covered so far.

Please never stop doing these, Dan? I often struggle with perspective drawings and I've been finding your videos very helpful for a long time now.

Wow I’ve never even considered the type of lense I would use and how to position it I’ve considered tilt but this is so awesome 😍 I don’t even care how complicated it seems I’m just happy this is all here in a series. Frikin love you man.

@@DanBeardshaw I just trying to get my sizes and proportions right. And I still suck at drawing hands. It's just a bunch of trial and error right now. 😂

just to let you know for future reference, the elipses on the car wheels should not be vertical. They should infact be at a 90 degree angle to the perspective line on which it sits. Im assuming your not using elipse templates which would have a guide to help line it up. You may alo considor the forshortening of the elipses too. I trained as a technical illustrator about 30 years ago (before computors lol) and pretty much everything is based around elipses on the centre point for the x, y and z coordinates on the construction grid. These are used to set the perspective for the whole illustration/drawing. I would, if i were you look into finding a video about how so set up a perspective grid/guide. Your basing your drawing around boxes where infact you need to set up the initial elipse values first and work from there. You can work out the values by hand or you could invest in a set of elipse templates which will help a whole lot.
Even if your drawing a simple cube, you need to set the elipse values first to get the correct perspective,

Thanks for this comment, although I have to disagree. The issue with ellipse templates is that they are actually ovals, not foreshortened ellipses - the only inaccuracy in my drawing of a car for example is the fact that I estimate what is essentially a square in perspective in which I draw my circle (ellipses) but for the purpose of a drawing like this the results are typically close enough. I do however plan on covering a method for measuring scale / constructing grids with 45 degree reference points, this allows you to draw a perfect cube or construct square grids, in which a more accurate ellipse can then be drawn.

Will you also cover curvilinear perspective? Done also in a professional way (like how Kim Jung Gi used it) and not only from a extremly exagerated cartonish way.
from how you are making these amazing videos, with truly unique information I already suppose that you would cover that in a great way.

Yeah I do plan on covering 4, 5 and 6 point perspective :)

May have missed this, but why do we do 90 degrees from the SP?? Thanks

How do you do this (around 2:40) on paper?......because both the station point and vanishing points are way off my paper, they're not even on my table! I suspect geometry might help us but i never paid any attention to that stuff at school!
