    - Getting the fluids in
    - Cranberry juice to rehydrate
    - Today's Tursday
    - I lifted 500 kilo
    - I'm always on time unlike Brian
    - Heading back to the states in the morning
    - Double bicep pose cheesy grin

    PLEASE take Martyn with you next time you meet up with Brian, Robert and Nick. I would love to see him torture those guys with his style of training the same way he does with you. I laugh so hard every time you try to get out of the leg extension machine and he pushes you back into the seat to finish your set. That's the sort of gym buddy you want!

    CZcams fitness channels: never do leg press, it's an unnatural movement
    Eddie Hall: Hold my cranberry juice

    • @ExilSvensk
      @ExilSvensk Před 4 lety +10

      To be fair the pro's like Athlean X who's a major league fitness coach, never says don't do legs, he does however tell you to avoid certain movements. Some leg movements are unnatural, and really should be avoided by most people and left to those who really need it, i.e. pro's where there's a real world carry over to say a competition. The thing with pros is that they know they are sacrificing their body and are willing to do it. Most people who aren't making tons of money or aiming to be pros should try to focus on movements that allows them to stay fit and healthy.
      My cousin as an example is a pro hockey player (ice hockey, not that grass thingy), he knows that he's got X amount of years as a pro then it's off to retirement. During those pro years you need to sacrifice a lot to make as much money as possible so you can retire without having to go back to a 9 to 5 job, since there's only a limited amount of non player hockey jobs out there. He's 30+ years old now and already feeling it. The average retirement age of pro hockey players is 40. If he's going to stay on a pro level for a few more years he'll have to keep breaking his body. It's the life of pro athletes and 99% of us out there aren't pro athletes and should not make such sacrifices, because we'll have to go to our 9 to 5 jobs way into our 60s.

      @jamestodd1104 Před 4 lety +2

      Max deadlift
      Heavy log for reps
      Heavy squat for reps
      Hercules hold
      Truck pull
      Stones
      Would back Eddie if these were the events and he had a years prep.
      Think he can take the deadlift and log now Z is on the slide.
      Truck pull he'd be up there
      Stones and hold would be middle
      Squat he would be top 3/4.
      Probably a winning score, but with typical WSM it would be loading race/farmers walk etc etc.

    Eddie used to be a skinny swimmer. Then one day he was bit by a de-hi-DRAY-ted spider. Now he's a beast.

    By far the best ambassador of strongman. Charisma, funny, outgoing, and can knock out a wildebeest with strength and farts.

    Hey Eddie, loving the videos with Martyn and I’ve learnt a lot. My problem is that when deadlifting, my upper back curves, it doesn’t seem to matter how much I do upper back exercises to strength it. If you’re doing a dead’s video soon I’d love some tips on this. I’m a lanky git and I feel like that’s not helping. Was wondering if martyn, the king of lanky fuckers, has ever struggled with this.

    Could you go into how you decide how much weight you're going to put on the bar for all the workouts? It seems like you add a plate after every rep then you eventually add a 25lb weight then end up replacing that with a plate, but haven't really seen any rhyme or reason to it. Also would the slow and controlled reps like y'all did on leg extensions work on every excersize or did you only do it on leg extensions for a reason? Along with that, if it would work for every excersize, how often should it be done that way, and how often should you just be going from point A to point B as fast as you can?

    Can you please talk about recommended reps for every muscle group and explain how you think about it.
    Edit: Also what do you think about whole body workouts 3 days a week?
    You guys are great 😁

    Struggle with grip strength, fails before the working muscle .... other than using wraps - is there a way to help this?
