This video is based on our 4 and 1/2 year ownership of a 2020 Toyota RAV4 XLE.
Super reliable and economical for a small SUV.
There’s been lots of highlights but unfortunately some unfortunate lows.

My wife’s MY16 non heated Prius wheel did that. I was convinced it was her prolific use of hand sanitizer.
Absolutely 💯 part of the problem.
I believe it as well.
As always very informative, thanks!
🙏🏻
im ready for you to be at 100k subs
🙏🏻 Tell me about it!! 😅
I’m going to have to jump something over fire I guess 😂
@@VikingsGarage I believe you can do it
Thank you! I do appreciate that!!
My wife drives a 22 Sienna needless to say that it works well for our family's needs honestly i was surprised that she was able to achive the advertised mpg of 36 mpgs we drove it 1200 miles on a road trip with a cargo box on top loaded with luggage 2 dogs and 5 people i was impressed....
36mpg , loaded that is super impressive. 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻
Hey! Out of curiosity wanted to know where you are from…what kind of accent you have? I find it fascinating to understand the different dialects across the country. 😊
I’m Portuguese!! 🇵🇹 🤘🏻
Just got that maintenance required see your local dealer alert.
It’s something with the coolant bypass. Looks it up and Toyota needs to do a recall. Only 40k miles. 2020
I do agree Sir, it’s way to common of a problem.
Another great video.
Btw my 2018 4Runner has peeling starting at the top of my steering wheel. I’m not sure if it’s the direct sunlight on it or what. I rarely even have my hands up there. 🤷🏻♂️
Don’t you find that annoying?
😀
@@VikingsGarage very
Hello Viking thank you for inside my 2015 runner is wearing on the side an the top of the gear
Bummer
Had all 4 types of the current Rav4. All except the Adventure got great MPG ( lead foot Lol ) . Time to upgrade to the grand highlander for your family 😊
You know, we both like it… but the price tag is a bit much.
I appreciate your support!!
Agreed!!!
Maybe some Cerakote wipes on the plastic molding. Worked great on 4Runner. They get chalky so fast.
I’ll give them a try, thank you!!
Hey Viking, my 4Runner seat is insanely uncomfortable and I’ve tried everything beside seat replacement. Have you come across customers 4Runners with comfortable after market seats?
Unfortunately not, I do have to agree they’re not the most comfortable.
That’s a lot of miles ☺️ for four years. Mine minus is that there is no headroom
This is true! 👍🏻
Thanks for the vid! We test drove a 2021 RAV4 with 65K miles, and the steering Wheel already had wear, and the driver and passenger door panels seemed very loose and separating from the power window switch button panel 🤔. Are these generation RAVs weak on the door panels? Thank you!
The door panel issue is very uncommon but I have seen it. I would look for a better one, they are still great vehicles
@@VikingsGarage thank you! Hey good Sir, on my 21 4Runner with 54K miles, I noticed that at slow speeds below 10MPH the transition from 1st to 2nd gear seems to have a slight bump/ jerk, only at slow speeds though. Is this normal ?
@4Runner21 very typical of that gear box, perfectly normal, that’s just the way it’s geared. But with that being said, don’t forget to replace the transmission fluid at 60k miles . 😉
Good lucky 🍀 replacing the 2022 to 2023 tundra engine shame on that engine company this happened to Kia to
It’s embarrassing honestly. I’m extremely disappointed on Toyota lately
@@VikingsGarage remember toyota didn’t make the engine
@beeslandscaping I know
How is the A25A engine as far as reliability?
Do you think it will last 300,000 miles?
It seems ok, but I’m not so sure about 300k, seen a few hybrids with 200k plus. (But you know their engines are not running the whole time) 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks.. I've been considering trading it for the last great Toyota. The 4runner
@earskinpresley5264 Best move you can make right now, a 4Runner will last you forever.
Thanks for the advice ✔️ just purchased a 2023 TRD OFF ROAD.
👏🏻👏🏻 Congratulations!! 🍾
My inlaw has a 2020 with only 8k miles on it lol
Wow, he’s got to drive that thing more.
Get the honda mini van best value
Those are also reliable, great advice.
