      Very interesting. I would make a suggestion as an observation. When you pass by the bridge, perhaps show Picard standing in front of his Ready Room window as the camera is panning around just before you see the observation lounge. It might add a just a little more to it. Love how you showed Janeway, Seven and what looked like Chaykote standing by the window on your Star Trek Voyager intro.

      Well done, sir! They most certainly more legitimate to the series than that shown in the Picard series. Most of all, I didn't care for the look of the bussard collectors. They looked like three swirling fans. I guess, they were trying to make them look more like the original Enterprise, but they stopped using that look in The Next Generation.

      Maybe so, but the florescent tube lights they used weren't capable of that kind of discrimination. With fiber optic lighting, maybe.
      However, for the most part having random lights turn-on-and-off would have been impossible because of motion-control photography! The regular strobe lights worked, but not random room lights.

    • @ministryoflies1344
      @ministryoflies1344 Před 5 měsíci +2

      Yeah, I know that the tech at the time couldn't manage that consistency and detail...syncing up over multiple passes etc would have been a pain. But maybe if DS9 or Voyager get the 4k restored treatment, who knows..

      So far as I'm aware, the only other Classic Trek that is even _technically_ capable of being upgraded to 4K would be _ENT,_ and that's mostly because all the space stuff was already all-CGI, and Season Four was the first (and only) to be filmed digitally.
      If I understand correctly, the problem with upgrading _DS9_ and _VOY_ to 4K is they'd have to digitally recreate every single physical model, and they don't have access to those anymore.
      On top of which- if the rumors are to be believed- Paramount Global is on the verge of bankruptcy, and they're looking to sell-off _Star Trek_ to Warner Brothers (assuming Alex Klutzman and Jar Jar Abrams don't -fuck up- that too), and so they're not capable of doing another 4K release at this time.

Even the Jerry Goldsmith theme was robbed from "real" Trek in many fans' eyes. Sorry, but no. No goosebumps. It was a different time. We came around & now TNG is roundly embraced.

    I've always thought yesterday's enterprise would have been so much more awesome with actual Klingon battlecruisers, apparently they wanted to do a whole new ship for that episode but didn't have the time of budget. Great work.

    Oh bummer, the quick ending at 1:44. Season 2's intro had that final bit at the end that made the whole musical intro 3x more epic.

    When I think of Star Trek, this is what comes to mind. The other intros are okay, but this one is the best.

    Ever tried this on your subs man? I bump the star wars intro with my subs man. People aren't ready for that man.

    This was an amazing piece of work. I love the little details, such as various stateroom lights turning on and off as the ship passes the camera. Phenomenal!

    The only thing i don't like about this is the fact that during the credits, the enterprise came from above instead of always being below and after the credits like in the og.
    Besides that, perfection.

    As impressive as CGI is. You have to admire how far things came when this show came out. In the original sequence, you can even see someone walking past a rear window. Impressive for 1987. Has anyone else ever noticed that?

    Wondering if Paramount almost exactly recreating your flyby in the last shot in Picard S3 E10 is just a mere coincidence

    • @giftheck
      @giftheck Před rokem +2

      I noticed that, especially since the traditional opening has the Enterprise flying under the camera rather than that flyby at that point. I also noticed that you can see things behind the windows in almost exactly the same way. Even the angle from behind the ship following the flyover matches up.
