No Mercy for Lane Crossers - Ducati 848 Crash

  • Ducati owner using both lanes makes two passes before crashing up top.The rider was out of his lane twice on this corner as well as other parts of the road . Staying in your lane is the rule everyone agrees on and you'll get no mercy if you purposely cross into the opposing lane. Looking at the slowmo appears he slid out when he hit the missing reflector not the line.

      I can imagine, with the spare parts for any random Ducati costing an arm and a leg. lol
      In fact, I'd be willing to bet that the Ducati spare parts and accessories market (and all that goes with it: repairs, servicing, regular maintenance) brings in at least as much revenue as the actual bikes, if not more.

      That is valid statement for every car/bike manufacturer. The OEM parts and the officially certified reparishops, services make way more money (MUCH higher margin) from their provided service than the profit on selling new vehicles. But mine is over 4 years old, showing cracks, stiff, currently my shop taking over a business day to change my tires. In the video he wasn't leaning to the edge,more like leaning to the point the tore can't handle the lean and the acceleration. This happemed to me a few times: I was leaning pretty far, then I start felling the treads, because they aren't slicks, right after that I felt tiny bit of slip, then I quickly pick up my bike. The rear tire sucks even my front shinko grips more: after a long ride you can see the sides wall showing orange skin/or rough sand paper texture, not smooth looking when was cold.

      Not true, some people start making excuses, and end up going out and crashing again. People should be called out on their shit, and don't lane cross a blind turn especially one known for so many riders and drivers alike.

    • @SmallSpoonBrigade
      @SmallSpoonBrigade Před 7 lety +17

      What happened here is that he maxxed out his lean and lost traction. It might have been the line, or it might have been a change in the texture of the road surface.
      But, the cause of the crash was poor body positioning leading to excessive lean combined with a bad line. Riding the way that he was riding, line or no line, he was pushing too hard for his skills and went down because of it.
      He's just very lucky that he lost traction rather than ran into a truck.

      Ask if the person is okay first then give them a talking to. I would have probably asked the guy to mind his own business if he approached me like that. A crash is a serious thing; you need to assess their mental state as well as their physical state.

      @@MK-sk2mi It really just depends. If you are serious about riding and have past experience i would reccomend getting a Ninja 300cc or 500cc. Those can still lean at 30-60mph and reach 90mph with ease. 500cc can easily hit 120.
      I started off on a 200cc, then after about 5 days I went on my dads BMW 1200cc cruiser. Then 2 years later I upgraded to a Ducati.
