Based on your review I put the Tractionator Adventure on the rear and the Dual Venture on the front. 2018 Africa Twin. Prior to this I had been using the Shinko 804/805 combo. I could get near 1800 miles on the Shinko Rear before it was almost gone, no good on the mud. MOTOZ are great I have 3800 mile on the rear and 3500 on the front. Still half my tread remain on the rear and more than that on the front. Great traction all conditions. I disciplined myself to run strictly 36 PSI on the front and zero cupping so far. The Shinko would start early on. The Dual venture front does seek its own path on rain grooves but manageable. Pavement almost every day to commute, lots of Iowa gravel and dirt. Some rocky stuff on the rough trails (but a rarity in these parts), a 1500 mile trip to the Keeweenaw Penninsula. Zero complaints. Highly recommended and will purchase these again. Lots of rain on the trip up North and no issues with traction at all. Thanks!

I never thought I could watch so many hours of tire reviews. You do an amazing job. Others have commented on the strange wearing on the front, but can you speak to the wobble others have experienced with the adventure front. Some claim the front tire is dangerous. I bought a T7 with Perelli M21and I love them in the dirt, but want something a step or two up in road manners.
Ha! Ha! Ha! Weston! I know how you feel... I didn't think I could talk about them so much either ;) The ADV front is actually my personal favorite of the line, I like it better than any of the other fronts. For me... and the 5 I have run they have ALL been the most stable. The Desert HT was the worst... All over the place. So much so I made this video: czcams.com/video/aqdPmDtDCvM/video.html After lots of testing, I have found the wobble or headshake is totally bike / suspension / load / pressure specific. The ADV tire I have run the Adv on my KTM 950, F850GS R1200GSA, Africa Twin and my 1190 Adv R. The 1190 was the worst! The BMW's Zero wobble and the Africa Twin ... it was only at a certain speed. Most of the bikes would get wobble when loaded heavy in the rear IF I did not crank up the preload. That is key! On-road they like full tire pressure too or they wear really funny. The block is SO BIG (why it works so well) in length, width and depth... that when the brakes are applied the block actually shifts and the trailing edge gets all the wear. The TKC80 does the same thing and is a common forum topic. I do agree that it is unnerving until you learn to deal with it. My OLD favorite tire combo was the MT21 front and the D908RR in the rear. That was until I found Motoz in 2010 and have run them since. Well, until 2017 when I began ADV Tire Testing... now I have run them all and would have a specific favorite tire for specific rides and terrains. Anyhow... Just installed and frist run at 80mph got the wobble, so I slowed and hit it again and got up to 90 with a little wobble
@@dsadventures6699 Yes, it can to up to any top speed "once stabilized"... It is sad that it can't be rock solid all the time. It is very interesting how different the reaction is based upon bike / suspension / air pressure / luggage set-up.

Thank you for doing this review series, this is the first source of info I've found that very objectively explains the differences between the Rallz and the Adventure tire. Am gonna get a Adventure for the new to me 890 advR rear. I've run Motoz for years on my EXC 500 and love them to death.

Just because you mention them...I used the MITAS E07 (90/90R21, tubeless) on my 2018 KTM 1290 SAR, with both tires in the front had air loss in multiple places in the bead , recently changed the front for the MOTOZ Tract. Adv. and problem solved! (so...it was not the rim).
I like that MOTOZ tire in the front...some noise at first but I think is decreasing now with the increasing mileage.
Thanks for sharing! Dude... the E10 on my 1190 right now is so frustrating. It'll hold air for three days then randomly loose all air in 20 minutes. Fill it up... will last until the next afternoon. Then be flat in the AM and then hold air for several days straight. Rarrrrrr.... Need to get it swapped out! I am happy you are liking your Motoz Adv tire, I too like it over the RallZ front. Now.... Here in a few weeks I will show you a new tire that you might want to try when the Adv tire wears out ;) Stay tuned!

Hi, Kyle, love your channel and so happy that I found it! I'm a new Teneré 700 owner and have been patiently finishing the break-in period (did the first oil change yesterday). The stock Pirellli's are really squirrelly going down gravel roads.
After watching your excellent Motoz reviews I have been thinking about either the Rallz or Tractionator Adventure tires. I live in northern British Columbia, Canada where we get a lot of cooler temperatures. Would you say the Rallz gives better cold weather and wet weather traction on pavement than the Adventure tire? I don't want to low-side the bike on a greasy corner or a tar snake. Also, one more noob question, if you don't mind - the T7 is my first bike with tubed tires. Which size and brand of tubes should I get for the Teneré? I can't seem to find much info online. And, you ship to Canada? Thanks!
I ride a Moto Guzzi Stelvio. In 10,000 miles I'm on my second set of Shinko 705s. They are cheap enough that I don't feel bad putting on tires every 5k miles. This is all on roads that are chock full of potholes. The things stick well enough on spirited rides in the twisties, I think I'll keep putting them on the Stelvio.

Another amazing Motoz Monday video Kyle! Motoz makes an excellent products, and I'm a big fan. My T-700 loves MotoZ, and I'm currently on the Rallz front and rear. This video now has me considering the Adventure for my next front tire.
Much more mileage and about 10% less "dirty"... It is a great tire. Maybe the Adv in the rear and the DV in the front?

Great review. Just put 6k miles on mine through all surfaces, and I still have tread left.Only downside is wet and cold (like here in Sweden off season). They get really slippery on the tar. Definitely my goto tyre for long adventure rides. /Rob

Good to know! Engstrom and Mobherg are my Swed family names. Mobherg is fitting as it’s a “topographic name composed of the elements MO which is “sandy health” + berg which is mountain or hill. I am an outdoorsy dude... And also funny that surname of ENGSTROM was an English and Swedish locational name meaning 'of the Ing-land' - the meadow land by the stream. Local names usually denoted where a man held his land, and indicated where he actually lived. And Bradshaw... my actual name... derived from the Old English brad ('broad') and sceaga ('thicket') form the Region of origin of Lancashire where the family castle is with our family Crest. Pretty neat... Little bit if my personal history.

I have a CRF300L with stock and will be upgrading to new ones. I have studied so many types my head is in a fog! Lol.
On a Canadian site, I have picked several and placed them in the cart to compare.
I would then start to eliminate one by one…and the Motoz Adventurer was the one that was left!

Thank you for you comment. I personally am not a fan of the RallZ front on the road. It wears funny and wiggles a lot. Adventure on the back and the newish Dual Venture on the front is the new Go To combo. Stable with lots of traction.
Kyle, I wish you would talk about front tire choice/performance. Nobody ever does in these videos only the rear but most offroad offs come from lack of front grip.
I am working hard on some front tire comparisons. Most riders match the front and rear and thus a differentiation was not previously made. I have been getting a lot of mix match inquiries recently and am working on a comparison.

I have bought a rear 120/90/18 for my WR250R, as other tires in a 120 size wear out way to quick lucky to get 4500km , if it fits my BMW R80 G/S then it will be a winner. I had the front Adventure on my Tiger 800 XCA and it lasted ages.
Yes, the skinny tires have MUCH less rubber on the ground and thus they wear out quicker.

Great video as usual. Really interested by the Adventure tires. Just for additional clarification (don't feel any disrespect from myself) but I just want to get back to your 50-50 tire review you did with Chapparal. Both tractionator (Adventure and Rallz) finished last in the freeway category. Would you please explain me what did you consider in this freeway evaluation? Just asking because you stated those tires are great on road, I'm just confused with both reviews that may to some extend say opposite things. Yes Sir! Thank you for your inquiry, it is super valid. Here I am comparing Motoz to Motoz. The Motoz tires can handle any speed of highway and twisties you throw at them, that part is great and what I am speaking of here. Now... with the Tire Test I had previously conducted I was comparing how the tires felt, how loud they were, how they handled rain grooves, etc... There are many tires that handle rain grooves better than the Motoz, others are WAY quieter, others provide better "feedback from the road" ... Lot's of data points. Put up against those other tires, the Motoz did fall down on the scale quite a bit. Now that does not mean that they are not a good tire, they just did not stack up in the comparison when it came to rain grooves and noise. Hope that clears things up! - Cheers, Kyle

The Michelin Anakee Wild was a game changer when it was released. Right now I am on the TKC 70 Rocks and it is a FANTASTIC tire. The Dunlop TrailMax Mission tire is a great tire too... So many great options out there! We used to use a TKC80 for everything and now there is a "specific tire" for each type of ride. I LOVE It!

Well thanks for watching! SWEET a 701 Rally... that has to be the perfect machine. I would run 30 psi most of the time and then drop down to the low 20's when the going gets tough and you NEED More Traction. That will not happen a lot... but when it does, you will have it in reserve. - Kyle
I am maybe 1000 miles to go on my TrailMax Mission which I am very happy with but maybe will give a go for Motoz ADV since want have better off roading experience but still have good feel on twisties, would you recommend this one for my KTM 790 adv r...... On my smaller drz 400 s. I had in the past tge tractionator desert ht (1 set) mountain hybrid (2 sets) and now on the tractionator adventure (a couple of hundred miles, commute to work and go play in las vegas desert) the desert ht was fantastic in the dirt, very loud on street (think of a big truck with swamp tired...lol) wet pavement was tricky as tge rear would break loose easy got about 6k miles. Mountain hybrid still very very good of road, and way better on wet, very good grip on dry pavement, changed them at about 8k miles.
Adventure tire, off road very good (desert riding) very good grip on dry, about tge same on wet as the hybrid. Front tire do "float" easily on small pavement imperfection, i will try to air down a little and see if that change. I didnt get that feeling with tge desert ht or tge mountain hybrid which are more aggressive (beside the rain grooves of course)

My experience has been different than yours. I’ve been getting about 4500 miles out of my tk 80s on my ktm 1090. I decided to try an HT and that thing is so loud, I’m taking it back off! The shinko performs just as well, absolutely no road noise, lasts just as long, and much cheaper to purchase.
Lucky you! The Shinko’s and TKC80’s melt off my 1190! The Desert HT is LOUD for sure. But the side traction is unmatched, in my opinion. Different strokes for different folks. I’ll buy the Desert HT off you for $100
What kind of mileage did you get out of the front tire? Was thinking about using this front tire with the rear GPS tire. Can't wait to see next week's video on the GPS tires.
I was able to get the Front ADV tire to run about 8k miles. I personally prefer the Adv front over the GPS front for my style of riding as the GPS just isn't aggressive enough for my liking, ESPECIALLY in the Deep Sand Washes I run often. Not too fun there! When running the ADV front and rear I used 2 Adventure Rear tires to every front. With the GPS I ran the GPS Front and Rear past 12k miles on my R1200GSA. But... on my Super Enduro I used the Adv Front and GPS rear until the front wore down... I then swapped them both out at 8K. Actually gave the GPS to a friend and he rode it for another 3k or so!

I wanted to ask you for some advice: I had a 1290 with the tkc80s (excellent off-road, good on dry asphalt, slippery on wet asphalt) and with the mitas e07+ (good on asphalt and dry off-road, terrible on mud and grass). Now I have the T700 Wordl Raid with the Anlas Capra X, good in every situation.
Unfortunately before getting to the off-road I always have to do 90 minutes. on the motorway and the front Capra
I'd like to try the K60 ranger or the tractionator adventure.
What do you suggest me? Do they hold well on wet asphalt? And on asphalt for my transfers do they last even less than the Capra X?

Congrats on the new bike! I'd recommend the Motoz RallZ rear and the Dual Venture in the front. It's better in the wet. 15% more off road traction than the Adventure rear... and it is great on the highway with mileage of 4k to 6k on average.
Hello. Thanks for the great review. Recently I installed MOTOZ Tractionator Adventure. Do you unflate them to factory spec psi? Or what is the recommended psi if manufacturers has different air pressure recommendations?
I run 30 psi most places as a dual sport and full sidewall pressure when on the highway all day. If in dirt for the entire day... low 20's.
Rear is great, front very noisy. Tested on a 8000km ride around Namibia.

Hi Kyle ...Love your Videos ...Excellent work...I have a Tenere 700 with Motoz Tractionators Rallz in the rear and Dual Venture in the front..What would you recommend for tire pressure on and off road...I am running 30psi on both sides and they seem to do great on and off road...
Nice! 30 psi is my go-to pressure if I am running around town or jumping on and off road. If hammering a day of highway (more then an hour of slab and or fully loaded I’ll run 38 psi. If riding all day in the dirt, mid 20’s. All depends on load, terrain and the weather ;)

@@wesleydean1358 I’d run full pressures fully loaded … until I felt I “needed more traction” and then I’d drop to 30ish… if more is needed, I’d lower more.
Several hundred dollars for the tire changes is why you buy a couple of levers and do it yourself. Good skill to have when you get a flat and it's not that hard.
The K60 can't really be recommended for anyone. Kinda sucky in the dirt, hard as a hockeypuck and dangerously slippery on wet or even damp tarmac.

Amazing videos!! Best tire videos on CZcams and there are a lot of them. Idk if you’ll see this but I recently picked up a zero fx that I want to be able to ride anywhere. On road and off-road. The only thing I’m worried about is the vibrations and noise on the street. Which adventure tire do you think is the quietest/lest vibrations on the road? I was looking at the motoz adventure in this video and also maybe the AX41, I remember you saying that was pretty good too. I’m willing to take the compromise and don’t care about longevity. Just want to be able to ride on any terrain with the most minimal sound/vibes on the road as possible. Thanks for any information I’d greatly appreciate it!!

Looking for another tire for my 690 enduro r …I currently have Mitas E07’s on. Was using the bike for Adventure riding, and now going to use it for a dual sport bike., and back up Adventure bike. I like the E07, and did everything welll except some hill climbs with roots, and leaves. They let me down their! Are dual sport rides are 75% trails/offroad, and the rest gravel/paved roads. Which Motoz tire do you recommend? I like that Adventure tire! Thanks, and really enjoy your content👍
Great questions. I've been riding the shop 690 for weeks now on PIrelli MT21's and I forgot how a full knobbie felt on the street ;) I would lean towards the Tube Type Dual Venture up front with the Motoz RAllZ tire in the rear. On the 690 that combo would be amazing.

What do you say about the weird wear on the front center blocks.
Seen many ppl with really a bad slope wear on them. Is it just low tire pressure, or just a lot of heavy breaking?
All knobbies scallop when they wear down from braking forces.
I have seen uneven wear from the Tractionator Adventure Fronts similar to what I have seen on the TKC80 front tires. I personally think it is a combination of low tire pressure and heavy front brake use coupled with TALL tread blocks. I also think it is a change in compound used at Motoz. Some have worn more than others under the same use on the same bikes on the same roads / trails. I happen to like the Adv Front better than the RallZ front for Daily Highway Use but the RallZ is KING in the deep, wet or sandy stuff. Now... I am currently testing a new Motoz front tire that might just be the golden egg... that works well for all of the Motoz rear tires. We shall see.... Thanks for watching!

Hey Kyle, what do say about the Adv and Rally front as an all rounder tire? Looking at thread pattern the rally may perform better.
I prefer the Adventure front for an all around tire... well for now... There will be a NEW All Around tire that I will show you in Episode 14... I think that might be the tire you are looking for. Somewhere between the RallZ and the Adventure.

How would you compare this Tractionator Adventure to the Anakee Wild? I'm riding a 2022 BMW GSA. I consider my riding true 50-50 in the high desert. I'm just wondering if I should give them a try. I really like the Anakee Wilds. Maybe I have just watched to many of your videos. Hahaha. Love the channel.
The Rallz is a better tire for your desert situation over the Adventure and the Wild. More bite with the RallZ

But finding them now here in Canada....and the price,are 2 big issues.
450$ Canadian for a rear 17" on my 1190 is just too much....
And I guess I'm hard on tires cause I can only get 4k kms outta any rear(yes I do alot of gravel and enjoy TC off)
Yeah, I run TC off too... and get about 4k miles. It's fun though! Prices are high on the 120/19 and 170/17 tires for sure.

I swapped a TrailMax Mission onto the front of that bike (Need to make the Video yet!) and it did improve the street handling of the bike over the ADV front tire. It lost performance off-road BUT I think the Mission front is the "perfect in-between" tire if you want a less aggressive front than the ADV or RallZ but More aggressive than the GPS. So... YES. I would totally approve of this suggestion of yours and I can tell you from experience that it works well too!
I live in the Pacific Northwest. I’m a novice, and plan on going camping and riding logging roads, but nothing crazy,, because of the limitations on my suspension and clearance. I have a 2016 Honda CB500X. I need something that will give my confidence in all conditions, especially wet pavement. My friend has these Motoz Adventures and highly recommends them. I’m an older rider, so pretty cautious in how I ride. What would you recommend? Would these Motoz Adventure be a good choice? I realize when choosing tires, there is always a conprimise.
Yes Sir! I love Motoz tires. I like the RallZ better than the Adventure, but they wear out a little quicker. They do have more silica than the Adventure so I find them a little better in wet weather. Welcome to ADV, it’s amazing!
Hi Kyle, I currently have Anakee Adventures on my Super Tenere and they stick like glue on the road but I do go off road sometimes with mates and then I have a lot less confidence. It's also driver inexperience but looking for something that will be better off road. I'm really torn as what to get. I like the look of (and that plays a part) the Tractionator Adventure but is hwy road noise potentially an issue? I don't speed, 110km is Australia Hwy speed...I don't act like a fool, I ride very safely as I want to come home uninjured from a long trip. I just need better off road confidence with longevity. The Anakee Adventures have already done nearly 10,000 km (8,000km on road 2,000 off road and always loaded with gear) and still lots of tread left so that is an indication that I don't push the bike.
I'm not overly keen on those models with the constant central strip (like the GPS)...is anything else a consideration? Could you potentially cut grooves between the lugs on the GPS to give better traction on gravel?
Thanks for your inquiry Paul. I'd recommend the Continental TKC70 Rocks in the rear and the Dunlop TrailMax Mission for the front of your bike. Super smooth and they get the job done.
Hi Kyle, I am shopping for new tires for my G310GS. Currently have 805 combination on the bike. These looked like better options. As this is a lighter bike, you leaned towards the tube version. The current install on mine are tubeless. Do you have any thoughts on what the best option for that would be? And if you were comparing them to the Dunlop trailmax mission would one shine better than others for southeastern us riding (virginia) and how would you think that they would compare to what I currently have?. The wiggle on the 805 laterally in the mud gives me quite a bit of pucker when offroad.

Hay...thanks, great review...great tires. I currently have a GPS on the rear and a TKC80 on the front. i'm struggling with tire pressures and traction on high speed gravel. The 1090's specs say F35 R42. I've dropped rear to 35 but didn't notice much if any difference! My aftermarket TPMS also showed decent temp increase. I'd never considered going as low as 30 (as you did/do). I always run unloaded solo. Would road handling get sketchy at 30-30 or is it just a feeling that needs to get used to? Is heat damage a concern at 30-30 over a period of time (understanding a day of highway requires the factory 35-42)? Apologies for all the questions...thanks again :o)
Love your handle ScooterNoMore! Thanks for your inquiries. I imagine you are skating around on the top of the graval with 35 psi - that is still a "high street pressure" in my opinion. Even 30 is a "high off-road pressure" if we look at it.
Now... Street pressures should be close to the manufacture recommendations. Now keep in mind that the pressures you see are at MAX Load. Your GPS tires are probably a load index of 70 which translates to 739 lbs in the rear and the front 90/90-21 has a load index of 54 which is 467 lbs. Add those two together and you get a Max Working Load of close to 1200 lbs. So the manufacturer pressure is cold tire pressure at MAX Load. Now this is the TIRE's limits. Your 1090 manual says your bike has a "Maximum Permissible Total Weight" of 992 lbs and they even break it down to 364 on the front axle and 628 on the rear axle. You riding your bike unloaded and solo... is WAY below that number. I run high 36 to 42 psi when on pavement all day and this number changes if I am solo (36) or loaded (42). Then off road... 30 most of the time but if I find the tire not getting the traction or the sidewall felx that I want... I drop it lower, like 8 to 10 psi lower. My KTM likes different pressures than my BMW which likes different pressure than my tube running 950. Yes, skating around would be the word for sure, especially flat corners. Thanks for your insights! as I ride 60-40 (street-gravel) it'd be nice to find a pressure that is a good compromise between both. 30-30 might just be the number. My concern was compromising the tires with the heat associated with lower pressures and hour long section of highway (55-75mph). in your opinion, it it a worry? Or am I over analyzing it? .." just drop the pressures and see how it feels "..!

So, I'm stuck between the adventure and the rallz for my crf450l. Currently have the dunlop d606 / mt21 combo, abs though it's nice, it's a little sketchy on the highway, which I need to take to get to the dirt. Also to work and back!
The d606 is 3/4" between lugs, and I'm not sure if I want to go further. But I'm worried that if I go to the adventure I'll lose some offroad ability. I'm in Phoenix, and as you know, the terrain loves the big knobs.
Would the adventure or the rallz best compare to the d606?
Hands down do the RallZ rear with the Dual Venture Tube Type or the Enduro ST 90/100-21 Fatty up front. You will be blown away!

If mounting the wide tire on a narrow rim the sides "pinch in" making the sidewalls really steep and unuseable. If you mount the narrow tire on a wide rim the tread flattens and the bike will turn in really slow... you'll have to push the bars to make the bike turn as it will "turn like a truck" Motoz has a rim width chart on their site I highly recommend you take a look at: motoz.com.au/product/tractionator-adventure/

@@billfinch800 Steering feels funny probably because the front is a larger size than stock. Have to get used to I guess but on gravel roads they work really well. On pavement, I can barely hear the tire noise over the wind and exhaust noise.

Quick question.. when do you know you probably shouldn’t lean more? How do you tell when your tires are about to slide, without actually sliding and crashing on the road?
On most tires you can begin to feel when the tire is at it traction point... but it is a very fine line and it is EASILY crossed!
Two things I'll say. The front definitely does not like going above 75mph, I find I start getting headshake. Second, the tire initially feels EXTREMELY tippy. Like, counter steer to intimate a turn, then switch all pressure to the other hand to hold the bike up for the entire turn type of tippy. Now, with maybe 2-3k on them, they feel much more neutral. So you definitely don't get to have you cake and eat it too with them, but they sure do work well off-road.

Same here with my T7. The front starts to wobble at around 75 mph. Much more sensitive to side winds vs stock Pirelli. Still like them but I may compromise to a less agressive combo next year.

I’m on a BMW 1200GS and have the Adventure on the rear, I’m now looking for a front. I heard some don’t like the Adventure front so I’m not sure what to get. What would pair nicely with the rear? For my type of riding I need a front at least as aggressive as the rear. MotoZ Rally possibly?
Yes, I have heard of many people not liking the Adv front tire but I personally have not had the issues they have experienced. I do think that for your R1200GS the RallZ front would be a great combo for your Adv rear. It has more "dirt bike" style knobs that will work really really well off-road while still allowing you to tear it up in the twisties. If that does not work up to your standards I would then suggest the Michelin Anakee Wild in the front. Thanks for watching. - Kyle
Ok, I’ll give the Rally a try! I ride to the Arctic every year and need traction especially on the front while riding the Dempster and Dalton. It’s 2,500 miles just to get there so it sounds the Adventure/Rally combo would make the entire trip. In the past I ran out of front traction way before the rear.

The RallZ is a much better off road tire than the Adventure. You don't notice it much going from the ADV to the RAllZ but the other way... you notice it quickly! On road the ADV is marginally smother but gets 2k more miles than the rally on average.

What's up Gage. If I were riding a 250 or 450 dual sport I would run the Xtreme Hybrid for sure. BUT... if you are on an Adv bike... the Hybrid is not robust enough and the RallZ would be my tire of choice.

Yes, I have ridden the Adventure in the wet, both tarmac and deep sticky nasty mud! They work really well. The original tires were All Natural Rubber with zero silica and they worked well. The newer Adventure tires (since the RallZ) are now being made with an "Optimized Hybrid Natural / Synthetic compound" which Motoz says produces dependable grip in all weather extremes. This is the tire I rode on the F850GSA and I really like the way it felt.

If you want to get 8k+ miles I would say the Adventure tire would be your best bet. If you want an even better performing tire but it will get 2k less miles the RallZ is my favorite.

That is correct. I have found that on the T7 after having run both sets back to back... the 90/90-21 Tubeless and the 150/70-18 Tubeless are the best feeling tires. You "can run" the 140 rear and the Tube Type front but I have found them to 1. Wear out Much quicker and 2. The flat tread made the bike turn slower. Some LOVE the Tube Type tires on their T7's though... Tires... Like windshields, and seats and oil... Everyone has a different like.

They are fairly quiet when run at full pressure. When aired down they do get noisy. Overall they are great tires.

Man... I don't know. The GPS is a great tire but the ADV has much better off-road traction. If you want the grip "when you do" go off road the ADV is the way to go.

Yes Sir! The 950 SE was actually the "test bike" for the compounds when in development. I have run the 140 and the 150. they both fit and they both work great. The 150 is much heavier but lasts 2x longer. The 140 is lighter, has a flatter profile and while it works great it wears out in like 2k miles. I have many photos I can share of both if you hit me up on FB or IG.
Kyle, have you seen any cracking on the Motoz? I have a Motoz Adventure of unknown age that has some longatudinal cracks on my new to me 1190. I love the performance of this tire on the road so I am hoping this cracking thing was fixed in this more recent version. What tire pressure is working for you on this thing? 30 psi? It feels like it could go way way lower for offroad. Or is there not really a benefit to that with this particular tire?
Thanks for watching! Cracks have been found on these tires in years past. Typically after excessive low pressure on highway or having been mounted on narrower rims than the tire calls for. The Super Tenere was the worst for this. They are superficial and will not compromise your performance. See the date code near the DOT stamp on the tire…. 4 numbers first two are the month, second two are the year. Airing down can help in extreme situations but isn’t necessary most of the time.

Tube or tube-less type for a CRF450L? Is the decision based on weight or hp? The stock IRC tires on my 250L looked great at 1500 miles. However my 450L smoked the original IRC’ (same tire size and model)) at 800 miles. Its obvious why.
My question revolves around the fact that both are single cylinder bikes. Where does that dividing line put the 450L?
Ive already put a tractionator on my 450L. It was an emergency tire swap as I noted the IRC carcass was cracking at the base of the knobbies and any tire at that point was better than what was on it. The first thing I noticed was an increase of seat height. They were a little slick for the first few miles . Once the new was gone these tires ran well on the street. Havent had them off road yet.
On the 450L you will want to go Tube Type as you want the tire as light as possible. The HP difference and the wheel spin of the 450L is much greater and will tend to wear out tires faster. I run the Tube Type tire on my 950 Super Enduro with 100+ HP and it works great. I do notice when I jump to the 150 I do notice the weight when twisting the throttle. Stick with the smaller lighter Tube Type on the 450L and you will have more fun.

Yes, the Adventure front tires have been discontinued. It was replaced by the Dual Venture front. The Dual Venture is a much better all around tire. It’s reversible, is better on pavement and better in the dirt. Win. Win!

How are they on wet pavement? I live in the Pacific Northwest, so a lot of wet days. This tire is designed in Australia, where it's dry.
The RallZ is better in the wet than the Adventure, more silica in the rubber.

I have one Rallz that have 60 % tread deapth left and one new Tractionator Adventure tyre.
What I have understand Rallz has softer rubber but Adventure has more rubber in contact with tarmac....

Great question. Neither... At the race track I would run a pure street / road tire. You will want the stickiest and most compliant rubber possible. Conti Trail Attack wold be top of my list. The Motoz ... not so much.

And the pair of Pirelli rally str I found did not fit. The rear 150/80-18, looked square, partly due to the narrow rim but also the tire pattern, which only has longitudinal sipes on the edges. The front 90/90-21 looked good so I Keep it. The Pirellis was the only matchning pair I could find in 21 and 18 sizes in stock in my small town.... So apart from my two Motoz tires I only have a Shinko 244 with 50% tread remaining and which has been sitting for two years as an option. Will call shops again to day and try to find any new street oriented tyres in any brand that fit my narrow 18 rim.

Realistically as a 60-year-old man. My off-road days are kind of limited. I'm probably on the road 70% but when I do go off-road , I go all out and want the best traction to keep up, if not, surpass my riding Buddies . I have the ax41's now and they're too noisy on the road. The front scates me on the asphalt. I was wondering what you thought of putting a Moto's GPS on the front and a Moto's Adventure on the rear for my 2021 890 ADV? If so, do you have the 18/21 combo in stock at motocity?

Love it! I am not a fan of the GPS and it’d not as aggressive as I think you’d want when you do get off road. I’d recommend the Motoz Dual Venture front tire and the Adventure or RallZ rear tire. I’m not sure if MotoCity has that combo but I think I I have the set up here in my garage to handle your request.

Tom and Reghardt, I hear you both loud an clear. What specifics would you like to see reported on the front tires? I have personally found that front tires are really hard to get a baseline on... due to external factors. No matter the brand, I have found "different wear" or feelings from the same tire when run back to back. That makes it hard for me to generalize with them. Now in my normal reviews when I discuss how "the other tires" have run compared to whatever tire I am running.... there I do give more specifics. @@manybikes specifics would be road noise, stability under braking and general on-road performance of the fronts. Offroad specifics would be how it tracks in sand and high speed gravel. We don’t have rain grooves in our roads, but I brake quite hard and use the bike to commute every now and then. Currently running AX41’s, which are absolutely great but the rear doesn’t give any mileage and the front is my absolute favourite tyre so far.
Dude... I LOVE THE AX41 Tires but I can not get 1,500 miles out of them! I have run the AX41 on the front of my 1190 with the RallZ rear and I really like that combo! How do they compare in the wet on road to the amazing AX41s?
Apples and oranges. The AX41 is a superior tire in the wet. The rubber is MUCH softer and sticker, the sidewall is really compliant and gives amazing feedback and the tread blocks are short making it super stable. Now... the AX41 on my bikes did not make 2k miles, but I love them!
@@manybikes I managed 5500 miles on an AX41 on the back of my 1200 GS, but strangely the AX41 on the back of my CRF250 Rally is pretty much done after 2500 miles, figure that one out 🤷🏻♂️😂

The Tractionator Adventure is a longer lasting more robust tire than the Anakee Wild or the Shinko. The Shinko is the cheapest and is great in its own right. Put up against these other two... it is the least effective off road as it is "really round not allowing the side lugs to do their job as leading edges. The Anakee is like a dirt bike tire... works great, is lighter than the Motoz but can be prone to punctures. The the motoz is a littler heavier but it is more robust and lasts longer.

Aren’t you running a much greater risk of a pinch flat running at 30 psi, especially if you’re tackling rocky roads on a big ADV bike like a GS? Also, did you get that mileage running 30 psi the whole time?
Thanks for your comments Ryan. I run heavy duty tubes and haven’t ever punch flatted with 30 psi. Now… running 18 to 20… that’s where I need to be careful. I run 30 “most of the time” unless hitting the highway all day long, then I run full pressure. So, yes… my average is 30.

I read in so many forums that these tires have a hard time holding air when tubeless and it is scaring me because I needed to install them on KTM 890 Adventure R but can't because of the valve stems location in case I need to ran a tube.

So... its not the tire, its the rim. I have had three different tires on the front of my 1190 and have had a rogue "flat tire" situation that was so hard to figure out. Didn't leak air in a water bath test... but while riding at certain speeds, cornering angles, etc It would immediately go FLAT! And then when aired back up it would hold air for weeks. Regarding the tube issue, they do sell "offset valve stem tubes" for your rim. Now Motoz tires are not prone to loosing air, so you will be fine.

Yeah, mount and balance are getting crazy these days. I do it myself mostly but the last one was $30 per wheel to mount and $15 per wheel to balance. They then charged me $1 per 1/4 oz of wheel weights... +$9 ... $55 per wheel... I'd rather spend the 30 minutes in the garage per wheel ;)

How are they in wet conditions?
I have ridden the Adventure in the wet, both tarmac and deep sticky nasty mud! They work really well. The original tires were All Natural Rubber with zero silica and they worked well. The newer Adventure tires (since the RallZ) are now being made with an "Optimized Hybrid Natural / Synthetic compound" which Motoz says produces dependable grip in all weather extremes. This is the tire I rode on the F850GSA and I really like the way it felt.

I think the ADV is a quiet tire... but I am coming off more aggressive tires too. It is noiser than an 80/20 but quieter than most of the 50/50 tires. Now... the Desert H/T sounds like you are riding an airplane with a propeller!

I've got these in my dr650, rear is good but the front wanders around real bad at 90 to 100kph. Not super confidence inspiring ☹️
Sorry to hear that... The rear tires are AMAZING. Mabye then new Dual Venture tire will suit your DR650 better?
@@manybikes yeah it's an odd one, I had noticed it but on the weekend just passed I got offered another front the same from a fellow Dr rider who said he hated it too.
It is common actually. Many guys run the TKC80 in the front and the Motoz in the rear. This new Dual Venture tire will be the comeback tire I think. I will do a comparison video between them here in a month or so.

Is the motoz tractionater too loud on pavement
I don't think so. I've run it on 5 different motorcycles and it wasn't loud. But some do complain it's loud.
How much can I air down without rim locks?
When the going gets rough I air down to low 20's and that works great. If it is really bad... I have gone as low as 15 (miserable MUD or deeeeep sand) but typically 20ish is good.

Wait, what happened to Chapparal?
Little late to the party ;) Chap laid off 150 people wen the pandemic hit. Video / social / web team was the first to get cut (March 17th) then the next week the rest of the crew. They were up and running a week later with a skeleton crew just raking in the cash... A year+ later and they are still running the Skeleton Crew with Lines at the check out over 2 hours long on a daily basis. Pretty sad.

I have…. And am currently running the RallZ / Dual Venture. The Adv gets more miles but the RallZ a bit more traction.
