      @@airadaimagery692 It handle well. I have used it on the road a lot and it has done great. As with all knobby tires, it will wander a bit when you encounter grooves in the road. It also is challenging on metal grates on bridges bot the performance off road is worth the it. The fatty 100 mm wide front tire is much better in sand than a standard width front. I've run through Michelin, Hidenau, Continental, Dunlop, Mitas, and Motoz ADV tires. The Motoz RallZ tires are hands down the best for big ADV bikes. The only caveat I'd say is if you are running the Motoz RallZ front, get the tubeless version even if you're running a tube. The tube front has slightly thin sidewalls and I have damaged a couple of them on hard square edge hits. The tubless front has an extra ply and it's a little stronger. The rears are perfect in the tubeless version. I get about 4000 miles on the rear with a heavy throttle hand on my KTM 890 ADV R mostly off road, and about 6000 on the front. They have decent traction on the pavement and in the rain, and phenomenal traction off road for ADV tires.

    Just got a new Motoz Adventure rear to try on my 23 890 ADVR. It sure seems heavy and stiff. Dreading mounting it myself. Lol. I was amazed i got 9k miles out the rear on the stock Mitas E09+'s, mind you its now to the center wear bar (nearly a slick in the center tread). Amazing how much meat is left on the sides and how flat/squared off the tire has got. I still get surprisingly good propulsion in the soft beach sand even without airing down. The front still seems to have plenty of life left. Between that and the cost of the Dual Venture, I've decided to wait a bit longer to replace the front. It was a tough decision not going back with the E09+. I daily commute the bike to work but try to hit the beach each weekend and also hit up a nearby area that tends to have a lot of slick clay mud. My thinking the adventure will do that better but not last quite as long. Any thoughts Kyle? @manybikes

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching! 9k miles is great. That tire and the Adventure are very similar in performance. The tread depth on the Adv is 1/3rd deeper and is better in sand from what I’ve experienced.

    A little over 1,000 miles on the Adventure rear and Dualventure front. So far the most stable ADV tire with the most traction I have ridden on dirt and in mud with my 1290, however, they also inspire the least confidence on pavement. The AX41s absolutely railed on pavement while doing pretty decent off-road, but, the rear would be smoked for any off-road work in under 1,500 miles.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 8 měsíci

Would be very nice to have confirmation of that and maybe even actual measurements before ordering one for my DR650.

      The 130/80-17 is what comes on the 390 Adv. I’ve run two 150/80-17 tires on that wheel with great success. The tire manufacturer makes a big difference too… even when the sidewall dictates a size… the physical measurements and profiles are way off. Same with the 90/90-21 tube vs. tubeless. Pretty crazy really.

    What are your thoughts on radial construction vs non racial? About to buy new rubber for my AT1100. As a professional car technical guy I can’t imagine not going with radials???

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 17 dny

      Yeah, there are few radials in popylar sizes for ADV tires. Radials have big benefits but the sidewalls have been more prone to damage than the bias tires from what I have seen.

    Do you know why they do not offer the Tractionator Adventure front tire (at least not in the US) and only the Dual Venture? With the riding that I do, the GPS rear is perfect but the GPS front leaves me begging for better traction. If I were to buy a Dual Venture I do not think I would like the tire because of the amount of highway running I do.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you for your inquiry. The Adventure front was discontinued here in the USA almost 3 years ago. It's highway manners were not up to speed. So the Dual Venture was developed and the ADV was replaced. The Dual Venture is the most common pairing with the GPS. It does better on the road than you would imagine while giving great off road traction.

    i have the tractionator gps on my crf1000.
    it is an ok tyre for dry asphalt and dirt-not mud.
    also it is DANGEROUS in rain on tarmac.
    i couldnt imagine a tyre like this would be so that slipery in rain. even the tiniest twist to the throttle makes it spin as if the AT is 500hp.....
    i regret buying them tbh,...

      Very interesting. I have only run the GPS twice... (R1200GSA and Africa Twin) and did not notice it being so slippery as you have experienced. What pressures are you running?

    I installed a set of tractionator tires on my KTM 1290SAR the front tire is UNBELIEVABLY LOUD I literally get complaints from riding buddies. I fn hate it. Rear is pretty good tire overall. Come spring front is going to be given away. Jmtc

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 8 měsíci +1

      All of the tires I talked about in this video are Tracionator. The Desert HT and RallZ are loud on pavement but the Dual Venture and GPS are not. It really depends on the model. I'd recommend the AX41 as your replacement front tire. It is great and it is quiet.

    why do they crack on the base of the knobblies?( talking about the rear one on the gs1250adv, air pressure 2.9 bar0

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 2 měsíci

      That's a great question. I've seen the cracks more on specific vehicles like your BMW and the Super Tenere more than others. 2.9 Bar is 42 psi... fully aired up and maybe even a little too full for daily non-loaded travel. Do you air down off road? There are lots of potential variables... and I don't have an answer for you. I have had a tire that cracked, on my 950 Super Enduro, and I cut it in half and the amount of ply and rubber under the crack is robust! There is no fear of the superficial surface cracks. I'll ask Motoz for a better answer.

      @@manybikes I'm going to try the mitas 07 Dakar. The last 3 rear sets
      kracked. Didn't do off rd and always in 2.9 bar. Longevity but never got to the bottom of it due to this issue. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. My best wishes

      The RallZ / Dual Venture are the best in the wet from this line-up.

      The Rallz has Hybrid compound with Silica for optimum grip in mud and snow.

    • @ozadv
      @ozadv Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes, in the wet I’d take the Rallz (for the silica), over the Adventure, every time - ask me how I know😮 Otherwise, the GPS also has good silica and I can recommend it off-road as well in everything other than long stretches of uphill mud or sand
