I main Kazuya and play on a korean lever fightstick. Watching hitbox execution makes me cry tears of blood.
I mean, you literally chose to handicap yourself by playing on a stick. Even a Playstation controller is a better device to play Tekken on (or any fighting game for that matter)
@@florinalinmarginean1135 Sure, but is it more fun? I didn't skip straight to korean lever with no time on a Dualshock. I played FGs mainly on the xbox conch, DS3 and 4 before switching to stick. I personally find controllers less enjoyable and more taxing on my left hand/thumb. I'm aware there is hardware for easier execution and am being hyperbolic in my post.
Clear advantages with no repercussions. Sad that most folk would use leverless. Input shortcuts that aren’t on standard controller or legacy fight stick, give unfair advantage.
-Brian main using a K-lever.
@@cpt.zangscarlet1898 I don't think there is an objectively "fun" controller, but I personally enjoy it when I am allowed to control my character precisely instead of whatever the hell arcade sticks were trying to do with fighting games.
That said, some motions are actually harder on Hitbox, like any quarter circle, half circle or full circle that involves "up" as an input.
They are not common though, so it's mostly irrelevant
@@kublaikhan8600 Don't blame leverless users for using leverless, blame T.O's for allowing leverless sticks in competitive settings. If you're going to play in a competitive setting, why wouldn't;'t you take the path of least resistance? Why handicap yourself with years of years of perfecting execution on a K-lever when you can achieve the same results in a fraction of the time using leverless?
And this is why not a lot of traditional joystick players like fighting against hitbox or keyboard users. There's no way to input left+right simultaneously on a joystick, even on a joypad. 😅
Why would you ever need to press both?
@OxOMRK005HOxO watch the video then you can answer your own questions
I mean, you have a pad and joystick on your average ps controller
still hitbox/keyboard has their weakness too compare to joystick
motion inputs like half circle motion or full circle are harder on hitbox/keyboard than joystik
so at the end of the day each has their advantage and disadvantage then also it depends on player skill and device choice
@@OxOMRK005HOxO it gives a neutral input instantly, which means you can do extremely fast back dashes

Keyboard players aren't banned from tournaments - it's just difficult to find converters for them to play in person on consoles.
@@HitBoxArcade it’s prohibited at evo
@@iatlas-_-129 There is no mention of keyboard being banned at EVO: www.evo.gg/rules
In addition, the adapters that would allow keyboards to play on console are allowed.
@@HitBoxArcade “are keyboards legal at evo”. “The keyboard alone is not allowed to compete in offline CPT tournaments and must be paired with a controller” is what it’s telling me. Hit box is definitely cheating. The advantage is wild
@@iatlas-_-129, The info you just shared says the keyboard is allowed - it simply needs to convert through a controller. In addition, the info you have shared applies to Offline CPT events. It is unclear if this means CPT ran events that are offline, or offline events that are part of CPT. If the former, then what you have shared does not apply to EVO. If the former, then there is a conflict of rulings between EVO and CPT: EVO does not have a ban on keyboards and does not allow no SOCD cleaning, while CPT only allows keyboards on Steam and does allow no SOCD cleaning.
Since the initial statement you presented was about EVO, we will stand by the ruling that EVO has.
This matches our experience of having keyboard players coming to our booth to try out the Hit Box. And boothing next to a keyboard company at EVO 2023.

To make it a bit more faster and coordinated.
Use your Right hand index to hit the Right button.
Speed is not the answer to a great KBD, but being able to control your pace definitely helps. Using the Left hand Middle finger for down and the Right hand Index for right button allows you to find your preferred pace much easier and begin practicing it to engrain it into muscle memory so you can focus on the fight much sooner💪.
You also don't have to shift your hand position, just the one finger, so you always have a good sense of where you are, no matter your skill level.
Get practicing.
I believe in you! 🫡
Player 2; the fastest way is to raw-dog it, unfortunately 😂.
There are methods but you have to be quite adept on Leverless already(1) and (2) it might be specific only to Hitbox type button structure(VSes Keyboard and Mixbox).

Lili right now and until Marduk makes a possible comeback I'm considering Leroy or Leo.
And feel free to throw whatever at me, I might be able to keep up.
@@cmar601
Alright.
In general;
Player 2 side is the true indication of your skill level as a Leverless player. It's similar to how Player 1 side is the actual boss-level difficulty in terms of learning Mishimas on Arcade Stick.
There is much less shortcuts and the alternate inputs tend to be more difficult than just learning it the original way.
You will want to practice A LOT on P2 side because once they realize how godlike you are on P1 they just have to do a side-switching throw attempt(the throw doesn't even need to be broken).
Lili and Marduk don't have anything too demanding so you'll be able to express yourself sooner as opposed to other characters.
With Lili you want to familiarise yourself with stance cancels that use Up to cancel and you also want to get used to quarter circle motions on both sides.
With Quarter circles you can choose Nina and launch with df2 and do qcf+1 4x. Once you can do that, and you have Anna available, you can try her df2 > qcf1 > 1(or 2 if you want to make it harder) > qcf1.
Once you progressed through that you can choose Dragonuv and do Qcf2 > qcf4 > 1 > qcf4.
If you're exceptionally talented and/or skilled you can progress to the highest level;
Paul's qcf1 multiple times(1) and his qcf3+4 > qcb4.
There are other frame perfect ones like Punishing -15 moves with deathfist or whatever these combo artists are doing in-between combos, but that's just madness.
Characters that have Up button stance cancel and qcf moves are Paul, Dragonuv and Bryan.
Marduk benefits from the qcf training since he has a virtual safe launcher in qcf1, an absolutely devastating low with qcf2 and two command grabs in qcf1+3 or 2+4.
I will assume you are comfortable with VTS cancels (3+4 x2) and you can do them in combos to fully optimise his wall carry and disgusting combo damage.
@@cmar601
hardest input to get down is a full circle motion, but the 2D characters are leaving and so are their instant air attack shenanigans. RIP 💔.
(You don't need the whole circle motion, but you have to wait for 6f after the first frame of Up to considered airborne, and ain't nobody got time fo' dat. Entering the full motion helps with your sense of timing).
Half circle motions have been cracked. Drum them if the input has leniency or use 2 fingers to slide from one direction to the other if cardinals and diagonals are strict.
True KBD on Player 2 side is a tough one too. You can cheese it out by quickly sliding one finger of your left hand from down to right after tapping right first with your right hand index( you get B * D,B * which is the bare minimum to pull a KBD). It's universal for the whole cast(including backsway characters like Nina, Paul, Bryan).
You can just B *qcb * for all non-backsway characters. This helps you train your wavedashing, so it's definitely something to look into and practice regularly.
DP(electric motions on P2 side).
There's EZ mode Kazuya methods and there's 14f electric versions that every other godfist character has to use. P1 has a few techniques, but you can even get away with raw-dogging it since the index and middle finger are pretty strong already.
Train yourself to also just input D,df * without the final forward input.
This applies to Lili too.
That way you have access to instant while standing moves.
Find what technique works best for you.
I have seen that using other fingers than the standard assigned(Ring, Middle, Index for Left, Down, Right) ones to the button helps, e.g D,dB you would use your Middle,Index rather than the standard Ring,Middle.
You need about 5~6f of pressing a combination of down,down-forward for you to be considered in Crouching state.
That's about it.
P.S there's ways to do perfect input(1f per input) versions of all these techniques(that's what determines whether you be training for 2 or so months or 2+ years).
This is super easy
Could never use a fight stick like this one,it looks cool but give me a damn stick, Sanwa with bat top😂
