    Adding some rubbing alcohol will make the day penetrate the hair a little better and dunking it into ice water with vinegar and/or salt before rinsing it will help the color stay…. Also some fabric softener in the rinse will help tangles.

    Thanks for another helpful video. Its so awesome having your channel to use for reference. With me getting more and more into synthetic wigs Im running some issues that you are obviously very very familiar with and your videos are here to help me, so ty ty ty! I need to dye a new wig I just got ( the one I told you about that has the frizzy looking bangs) I ordered the color Medium brown and it looks more like a light ashy brownish blondish. Not what I was going for at ALL so dying it pronto. Then I will need to do the bangs when you put that video up. Im so annoyed that wig costed me $240 and I have to do some major work on it just so that Im happy with the wig😖. Im never gonna spend that amt ever agin when I have found some awesome awesome wigs from ebay and amazon for $50-100.

    a hundred years ago we used rite dye on human hair wigs, we created formulas for various colors.... they were heavily processes so you could not use bleach or tints to alter the color or refresh them.... as a novice I tried to bleach one and the hair turned to over build spaghetti with in 5 minutes..... all we had as an extreme condition then was a claroil product called metalex.... I soaked it overnight and it got rid of the zigzag in the hair, if you know what I mean by that... saved it... but for sure it wouldn't last long... 🌻

    SUPER CUTE I love the color and thanks for the tip about hot water and curls I have one wig that I think the bottom is a little too wavy that I like to lessen the curl, I will keep that hot water trick in mind!!! Also, I just received the 4 new wigs that I bought on Shein and they are stunning. Mind you one of them the wig cap seems a little warped and it seems there is way too much hair in the front that does not blend well with the bangs, I may have to do some layering and styling to make it more wear able. but the other 3 are stunning!

    QUESTION! So I dyed 2 of my synthetic wigs using this exact method. One of them using the same blue color but when I went to straighten it after it dried, my hands were covered in blue dye by the time I was done. I rinsed till the water was clear and everything. Did this happen to you? I rooted a wig this way too and the same thing is happening but with the brown color 😭help meeee

    • @JesseMSimons
      @JesseMSimons  Před rokem +2

      You have to rise it really really well and I wash it with some Dawn to help get any excess color out. The hair hold onto that dye sometimes especially the blues I’ve noticed.

    • @JesseMSimons
      @JesseMSimons  Před rokem +1

      You can still use water to dye the wig. You just need to use lukewarm water not hot. Also add some salt to help the color adhere to the wig. And make sure you let it sit for a lot longer. I would say at least an hour. If you use alcohol it's just going to tone the wig and not pick up any actual color from the dye. Hope that helps!

      Roll it up, the mosses makes it easier 2 roll.
      Boil a pot of water, then remove from heat.
      Dip the wig several times, slowly in and out of the hot water.
      Allow it to cool off before removing the rods.
      (BTW, You can also use a steamer to relax any hard looking curls).
      ...And hot water/steamer are two of the best ways 2 bring a synthetic wig back 2 life, relax it, curl it, if its not/or not suer if it is "Temperature Resistant' for heated styling tools.

    Won't the boiling water melt a synthetic wig?

      @JesseMSimons  Před rokem +2

      You want to do this method with a heat safe synthetic wig. Or use warm water and let it sit longer.

      You can use sharpie marker and some alcohol in a spray bottle. I’m planning on trying it out in an upcoming video.

      @@JesseMSimons so i wd have to find a white and light tan sharpies then i suppose. I was not going to take the sharpie apart just going to mark the strands of hair not spray it. wd that work i dont see why not..

      @JesseMSimons  Před 3 lety

      @@Lauren-vd4qe for synthetic wigs you really can’t go lighter only darker. So if the wig is dark you won’t be able to put highlights in it. If it’s a lighter wig then you could use the markers and a spray bottle to add dimension and color. Hope that makes sense.

      Unfortunately dyes made for hair usually won’t work on synthetic wigs since it’s not actual hair and doesn’t absorb the same way as human hair would. You can absolutely try it but I can’t guarantee that it will work. The RIt synthetic dye is specifically made for synthetic fiber which is what these wigs are made of.

      It will work it just doesn’t deposit color on the wigs as well. Use some salt in the water as well to help it some.
