"Even if somehow Bernie never becomes president, he has definitely inspired someone who will."
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (and many more!)
My son is only 14 and he is very passionate about our country. Bernie is his inspiration n hero... he actually cried when Bernie left the race for President. We need more people in the world like Bernie who really care about the people ❤
@Mason Peterson I mean that’s what we say about Trump. Never say never.
Hahahahahaha. You fool.
But that would be too late.
Bernie Sanders would have made such an incredible President. It broke my heart in 2016 and it breaks my heart in 2020. And I am not even American.
God bless you, Mr. Sanders.
Totally agree..and im not American either

Sanders sold out his "movement", TWICE, now (just seems this time around, he didn't want to allow the sham to last longer than it had to). He's become a hypocritical joke to we on the REAL CHANGE side of the argument. Any interview with Sanders should address this reality, instead of pandering to Bernie's 'quaintness'.
The way Bernie said "I am so DISGUSTED." was perfect, a wonderful impersonation of our collective opinion.
Yet he refuses to do anything about it .... What a hypocrite, and patsy for the democratic party. @Telaviteacher No, as a brown person, I felt that too. That's what a collective opinion is.
@@davideaston6944 There are limits to how much socialists can achieve whilst working in the framework of a liberal bourgeoisie democracy. Bernie Sanders near damn did test all those limits.

Along with Henry Wallace and RFK
Tony Merrett absolutely agree. Sooo...would y’all mind if we Canucks borrow him for a little bit? We have a bit of an issue with the political leader here in Alberta presently that I’m pretty darn sure he would have it sorted out in no time flat 😉
I've heard that about Ron Paul a lot.

@@albertgerard4639 Ron Paul's son is a disappointment.
Bernie really cares for people so much, seeing someone with that much empathy gives me so much hope. He would have gotten my vote if I was an American.
It annoys me that some people only know Bernie as the curmudgeonly guys as if he doesn't like people. To me Bernie Sanders is someone who cares so much it hurts. You need only look at all of the hundreds of town halls Bernie has conducted where he has given the microphone to people in the audience and said "here tell us about your experience". Him and his team have been so great at sharing those experiences and getting people who perhaps felt ashamed to talk of their suffering to think "oh there are other people like me?". Not just within those town halls but they have been ahead of the curve with the online game as well.
"cares so much it hurts" 👍 Exactly. Dead on.
Honestly, no one would expend the amount of time, energy and money
that he and his people have doing these town meetings unless
they truly believed in doing what's right for the American people.
Bernie is a true gem, with a heart of gold. I wish so much that he'd been the nominee. I'm hoping Biden meant what he said to Bernie. I really do.
Bernie is the real deal. He's been in the pits with the working and knows how we're slowly losing our moral and hope for this once great country! I wish there were more in Gov't like him.

He's become a hypocritical joke to we on the REAL CHANGE side of the argument. Any interview with Sanders should address this reality, instead of pandering to Bernie's 'quaintness'. Face the truth about this guy, people. He's more worried about who "likes him", and his retirement plans, than actually ever running... If he was serious, he would have sued the Democratic Party last time around for their BS backroom politics to discredit his run. But he bowed away quietly, just like this time... He's a CLOWN, put up to distract people into thinking that there is ANYONE in that party that actually cares about The USA. And he's done a perfect job, if you're going to vote Biden.
Missed hearing some sense coming out of someone. Thank you Bernie for still fighting

Agreed, we spend way more on military than the next 5 countries combined...
Republicans say we don’t have a budget for education assistance and universal healthcare but they forget to mention it’s BECAUSE we spend $600 Billion+ in military spending annually!!!
Over $600 Billion!!! Even $300Billion would be adequate to protect our country. Free up $100-$300B for other social programs. OR here’s a pro tip, don’t give $1 Trillion dollars in tax cuts to the wealthy 1%! They are extremely wealthy, they don’t need the tax cut, they don’t use it to “create jobs.”
For those of us outside America (I’m in Ireland) it’s simply stunning to see.
I love Bernie and wear one of his T shirts I purchased in 2016 as a night shirt. I am in my 80's and when I look in the mirror and see his face on my shirt, I know all he has said and done will never die. Bernie has a special place in my heart for showing how much he "Loves America and all of Us".

@@barrycrawford7326 if he ever attains power? he's a Senator.
@@barrycrawford7326 It would be interesting to know more about who you are. You certainly don't know the difference between communism/socialism and Sen. Sanders' democratic socialism. And you certainly don't know any of Sanders' biography since he was an undergrad activist at the U. of Chicago protesting school segregation in the city, crossing a police line and arrested (the NAACP got him out the next day), organizing the first sit-in in the city (at the university), organizing a busload to DC for MLK's historic March for Jobs and Freedom (with his famous "I have a Dream" speech). To view the You Tube "Bernie & Civil Rights in Chicago" should be educational.
But Sanders was just starting. This consistent champion of "the little people"-- the leader you dare call "a nobody"--has been a lifelong warrior for civil, economic, environmental, gender, racial, and social justice...and for peace. He was elected to four consecutive terms as mayor of Vermont's largest city. As first a U.S. Representative and now in his 2nd term as Senator, he has been elected as the longest-serving Independent in Congress. His protest against our entry into the Iraq War was constant and stirring. His years of consistent effort to get the first-ever increase of the fed minimum wage is a landmark and moved his bill from zero co-sponsors early on to 30+, when it finally passed the House in 2019. Of course, McConnell (R-KY) has prevented it, and SO MANY other good bills from getting to the floor of the Senate for a vote.
Along the way Bernie was honored for his service as Man of the Year by two major veteran's associations--the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (in different years). When he ran for president in 2016 he still earned more than 13,000,000 votes as the relatively little-known junior senator from a small northeastern state. DNC
Chair Debbie Wasserman Shultz at least lost her post for her shenanigans then, and Donna Brazile later apologized to Bernie, but.... Another high-ranking DNC official, Tulsi Gabbard (vice-chair, maybe) earned increasing respect for stepping down from her post in protest of what was done to Bernie...but the damage was done.
Bernie's record of coalitions, his leadership re the issues most important to the 90%, his campaign energy, historic fundraising success and debate skill should have positioned him to be running for a second term today. Instead, Bernie with his following of national leaders and progressive leaders of the future has devoted himself again, as a true statesman, to educating our nation why Trump must be defeated in Nov., and why Joe Biden MUST prevail.
Wait.. acting like adults, and working together to come to an agreement that benefits everyone? * narrows eyes *

Living in a society means you have to make sacrifices for the good of the group. That's the whole reason humans started living in groups and taking care of each other- it not only increased our survival, it allowed us to innovate and developed new technologies and medicine. the last 200-300 years has seen far more advancement of the human race than the hundreds of thousands of years humans lived before then. Having a society just works. If you do not want to make the sacrifices needed to support the people in your society and make sure that they *all* survive and thrive, then you don't get to live in the society. Go move to the woods and live on your own if you don't want your taxes to go towards the wellbeing of the group.
It has been proven time and time again that it is more effective to put our extra resources together and dole them out to those who need them, than to have every person on their own.
Can you even name a country that has policies you agree with that you would want to live in? The happiest, richest, safest countries tend to be ones with progressive policies, and I would be surprised if you could name a first world country that has more conservative policies than the U.S.
Bernie: "Look, Stephen, between you and me..."

Bernie will be remembered for making America better by making "extreme " ideas mainstream like universal healthcare. He's a national treasure.
@snowboarderforlyfe id call it fascist America
For making normal, common sense ideas that are considered baseline centrist elsewhere slightly less contentious in the US.
Universal healthcare is only radical in the USA.
He got smeared relentlessly for it and got hounded by question of how he'd finance it despite the fact the US has the highest healthcare costs per capita of the OECD.
His opponents, promoting far less ambitions and far less effective ideas(there was even a Harvard study that concluded M4AWWI would actually make things worse, but no one mentioned it in the debates. Then they cycled back to bash M4A for the 102934854th time).
And he barely did anything to fight back against the smears. I honestly don't like this attitude of pretending Bernie is beloved after he's not a threat to corporate interests.

The state DNC ruled that in-person voting was necessary and many people walked away from the polls having gotten covid. Damn right, Bernie. I couldn’t agree more with practically everything he said. It’s not about freeloading or independence from govt; it’s about a gross misappropriation of funds that’s given trillions to big businesses who do not hold the economy up while giving nearly nothing to the working folks who need it the most because they can’t afford food. It’s atrocious. I’m one of them. A country this wealthy shouldn’t have so many citizens on the edge of poverty.
He's not radical, he's fearless!! Wish more politicians were like him...
Bernie is the only US politician I can think of, who has a life-long conviction and never ever swayed of the path he feels is the right one, incorruptible, intelligent and with integrity to boot. A real treasure that is totally undervalued.
@nick smith The only reason socialism, communism, as well as capitalism hasn't worked is the corruption of either system. That's why Sanders would be someone that keep corruption out of the system to a degree. The actual ideology of socialism is one that can work for a nation, just as productive capitalism can work as long as it is not corrupted by crony capitalism that is exploiting the people who create wealth.
Socialism and productive capitalism is not that far apart actually.
If you think that socialism doesn't work as per se, let me know why you think that is.
nick smith there’s a difference between democratic socialism and socialism. Google it
You nailed everything about Bernie perfectly -
I agree about Bernie, but would add Jimmy Carter to that list. He truly walked his Christianity--not just talked it while holding the Bible for a photo-op.

Rock Landstone 45 may be voted out but the causes that brought him into power will not be resolved by a Biden admin. He may be able to give us the impression of “returning to normalcy”, but if he can’t commit to universal healthcare EVEN as we go through this pandemic, little will change. Another 45 will rise, perhaps smarter and more cunning... Biden isn’t the end all when you have a media and politicians working directly against you - the public’s - interest. Ask, who in Washington is looking out for YOU and not themselves?
Bernie is the President that the US absolutely NEEDS. It seems that too many people are afraid of change, and so went with 'the devil they know' and chose Biden. It makes me so, so depressed that Bernie is discounted once again. Bernie! Please don't give up, I believe in you!

"We're gonna beat him bad" - Bernie Sanders, channelling his friend Cardi B
😁
Glad she's not his VP
That’s just Bernie the New Yorker
I love Bernie. When I saw him give his first interview with Stephen about five years ago, I was amazed that a politician could speak this earnestly about equality, fairness, and humanitarianism. Ever since then I am always excited to hear Bernie return to his core message no matter what's happening in the U.S.
I haven't contributed to any political campaigns. There's something wrong with having government representatives spending time raising campaign funds. Federal and state governments should grant political candidates a reasonable budget. No year long campaigns. No rallies.
No private money. None.
Our electoral system is corrupted by money.
Love you Uncle Bernie!
Bernie would have made a great President
He's too "extreme" for the states. They don't deserve him
1. Bernie 2. Warren 3. (Distant) Biden. But all have the super-power of not being named Donald Trump.
“Winter is Coming” - Bernie Sanders, 2020
He’s basically saying Arya Stark is on her way for Trump. The Orange One might start being suspicious about Pence💁🏻♀️😏 #faceless
Covid is faceless. Just saying.
Bernie has been a shining light on the political scene since he first became the mayor of Burlington ... he has always been history in the making and history is on his side ...
"Winter is coming, we are prepared."...Bernie sneaking in a metaphor literally/visually revealing the chopped wood and the will to deal with the coming storm...
He knows how to get to the younger and mid aged voters. Damn I wish he hadn't dropped out last election. He knows this election is going to be a battle!
@@GD1_3 Tactic perhaps, in not sending in your essential officers to the frontline from the trench. Defeat the enemy with diligent chess rather than walk slowly at the gun/dumb emplacements...
Zaroff's Trophy Room tee here....I almost started typing the same thing! Winter Is Coming.
the man who should be in office smh
Bernie's a real one. To all you Bernie lovers, listen to The Man. Its bernie and biden. UNITY. Time to VOTE VOTE VOTE BIDEN. 🇺🇸🇺🇸💯
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
@jemimallah and trump has done nothing but cheat, lie, steal, screwed and murdered American people
Bernie is the pitbull for democracy and fair treatment of the people. He also cares about our planet and future generations. What a great man he is. Love from New Zealand!
As a progressive I am voting for Biden for the sake of the Covid-19 victims and their families who have suffered under this administration's lackluster response, the future of the Supreme Court, And I'm sure it would be easier to push progressive policies through a Biden administration than the Trump administration.
Which so many people fail to understand 😭
Voting for biden to solve covid is about as effective as buying wet toilet paper
@@infinitysalinity7981 Voting for Biden isn't gonna magically give us a vaccine but it will help us to take this virus seriously and not muddy the waters with bullshit conspiracies. Biden, will help bring the line down, unlike the current Clown in the whitehouse with his clorox.
Biden's own losses have given him immense empathy, which this president totally lacks.
@@infinitysalinity7981
It's not about stopping it which you can't, It's a proper and effective response that would prevent the spread, Just look at Japan they jumped to action at there numbers are low
I don't need to be American to admire Bernie Sanders, a true patriot that has his people's best interst in his heart. Twice he could've been, twice he was snubbed, yet no shred of bitterness or cynicism but only willingness to build bridge and work things out. I wish we had politicians like him.
Yes. Task forces that include ordinary civilians selected for their skills, not their economic status. Please include scientists.
THEY DID!
Bernie explains Biden's platform more effectively than Biden does. Makes me nervous for the election tbh
I hope Bernie Sanders has a very influential role in the coming Administration.
Yup
Bernie talks policy. Biden whines. I get it, the current administration is deranged. I hope Biden snaps out of his stupor and starts addressing how he is going to implement the policies Senator Sanders outlined in this interview.
God Love you, Bernie! Thank you.
FDR's VP Henry Wallace was very progressive; pushed left in various ways.
And the Dems pushed him away
The worst decision FDR ever made was to choose Truman instead of keeping Henry Wallace as his running mate in 1944. Imagine what a different country the US would be if Wallace had succeeded FDR on April 12, 1945.
With all due respect to Jon Batiste: BERNIE SANDERS IS MY PRESIDENT! Canvassing for Bernie since 2015. Hello Somebodies!
We need to challenge Joe Biden once he gets into office. That's when the real progressive fight begins.
I would litterally give my right arm for him being the president. God! this is an sincere offer.
I would give my life
Tyg Rahof you know I was talking about giving my life so Bernie could be president, right? Not trump.
@@sooperbear Yes; sorry for the misinterpretation. Just wanted to show that Biden has saved lives as VP. The ACA has saved lives and Bernie supported that.
I would too, honestly. I know both parties would vote against his proposals but to just have a chance of actual structural change i'd sacrifice an arm
Bernie Sander is the new Jon Snow, 3:36 "Winter is Coming"
He is Ned stark
“… unprecedented crisis …”
That, and virtually unpresidented 🤔
Bernie Sanders, a man with an honest smile!
Bernie, Warren are a treasure, hope to see more and more people get to learn from them.
We will vote for Biden Harris but we will not stop fighting for Medicare for all
Well said. The USA deserves what the rest of the western world has ✌️
i'll vote trump but just because i placed a bet that he'd win the popular vote this time.
I am Australian and we have free Medicare for all keep fighting but thank God you vote for Biden, Harris the free world cannot have another 4 years of trump.
Ray Campbell the pain is felt around the world it’s it?
It’s not just the worry it’s also the fact that children and elderly are going hungry people are out of work and can loose homes, health care, and the emotional destruction is incredibly.
He was the once in a generation chance to get a genuine man of the people into the white house. No politician in our generation has even come close to inspiring the change he has made. We really blew it.
Senator Sanders. Still fighting to improve the lives of everybody else! 🔥
Love you Bernie!
President Bernie Sanders had such a nice ring. Thank you for all your hard work Senator!
Keep Bernie Alive, the honesty, the humility, the humor, and the undying courage it takes to bring about real change for good, for all ! Bernie is counting on us.
Love Bernie... dude has been preaching the same message politically for many decades now. This man is ahead of his time. Biden may not be as progressive as Bernie, but he is light years ahead of Trump! I’m sure everyone will agree in the comments section, lol
Honestly, I'm at the point where if Kamala and Biden swear they won't burn down the White House, they've got my vote.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Unless that turned out to be the only way to get Trump out of the Oval Office!
You should ask yourself the question if that is democracy
@@locoloco2703 Since we have a current Administration that is actively trying to rig an election., yes, but under certain conditions. It wont be common citizens burning down the White House however... It will be far more elegant.
If Trump wins, even by a narrow margin, you will not see leftist militia groups storming state houses... you will see peaceful (at least, unarmed) protest akin to Belarus. The same cannot be said about a narrow margin win by Biden, the Right is more prone to potential organised anti-government violence.
(Ruby Ridge, ranchers on federal lands a couple of years back, Q anon: classified as a potential terrorist group. Also consider the numerous armed Right wing militias out there as well. Far more organised than BLM could ever dream of being... and unlike BLM, armed to the teeth!)
However, if Trump looses by a significant margin and tries to stay in power claiming a rigged election...
He and anyone who would stand with him eventually WILL FACE FEDERAL TROOPS, sanctioned by the oaths taken to defend the Constitution. Troops with both Liberal and Conservative political orientation. This is an already established fact (Powell, Mattis ... numerous others). Formal modern officer training is given with an emphasis on history (the Civil War) along with particular bias towards the rule of LAW. Do not stray too far left or right... and DO NOT violate that Constitution, sacred oaths are not to be played with.
So, understand, when the average person on the Left makes a joke about smoking the prez out of the White House, it is an obvious joke. But when a sitting President and his supporters makes claims that defy democracy, and then, takes actions flagrantly towards those ends. Somebody will get out of there... one way or, sadly, another.
LMAO🤣🤣🤣...I feel you on that Blake
I been looking a Bernie for quite sometime and I said if he ever decides to run for president I would vote for him wholeheartedly
"Winter is coming..." - Bernie Sanders
FEEL THE BERN OR WATCH IT BURN.
Still rings true.
