I see many people in the comments asking the planes to be taken back. But wouldn’t china take advantage of this situation and put forward their own aircraft and also offer to train and lease them ? China would gain another foothold in the region if done so.
I find this more concerning than the fact that the Maldives are facing problems which was bound to happen. China will find a foot hold in the region using debt trap it will lease its aircraft and pilots for a fee.
Chinese rarely do things for free or as a goodwill gesture.
Chinese will not do this, It's India only who helps for free, non other country have that good level gesture to these tiny Island countries
China will not do it for free. And if they allow Chinese military to operate Chinese planes instead, then they will lose the next elections on 'China out' campaign. So the current govt will never allow Chinese military to enter Maldives.

Trusting Maldives could be dangerous to India considering the unbelievable attitude and siding with Chinese Government plans and funding. It's high time for India to ignore Maldives.
