"Net foreign direct investment (FDI) flows into India dropped 62.17 per cent to $10.58 billion in 2023-24 (FY24) - the lowest since 2007 - from $27.98 billion the previous year. This was mainly on account of higher repatriation of capital and Indian companies’ investments abroad.
According to the latest Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data, $44.4 billion of the $70.9 billion gross FDI flows into the country in FY24 was repatriated through dividends, share sale or disinvestment, while another $15.96 billion was invested overseas by Indians."

FDI should come in legitimate sector. Not in sector like media, entertainment Otherwise its harmful to economy in long run So its good until Indian current account deficit is at satisfaction level. Just FDI in itself doesn't matter much

Election yearmai FDI flow kam hota hi hai. Simple economic ka rule hai.
The NET(inflow - outflow) FDI has gone down(m. The FDI inflow has remained same but Indians are investing abroad and so net inflow figure has reduced.
For example Adani has bought the port in Israel, that means outflow from India for FDI inflow in Iran.
Once the elections are over new project activities will pick up pace again. When govt terms are nearing completion many activities get postponed. Even then the inflow number has remained same and not reduced.

DI is very strong in india, FDI will regret later on they are still hoping for chinese stock market to go up
Hope it will be redirected by government( subsidies) investments so that productions will not be affected. Balancing has to be taken care in those sectors where the depressions are visible. An active role is needed by the government and private parties. This is natural process.
Apart from. Technical reasons like high interest rates by US FED & high yield....
We must recognise that this FDI thing will remain turbulent and highly politicised till the DeDollarisation campaign of China/Bharat & others.
USA will do everything to stop DeDollarisation., including regime change, riots, etc.
FDI, overall Indian economic performance and politics are inter-linked.
Post election, as the direction becomes India’s growth performance should continue followed by FDI
