I visited one of the ghost city of China when I was living there along with a Russian expat who works in the banking industry. I was astonished with the number of high rises and couple of huge malls that were completely empty and he mentioned that this is the 4th biggest ghost city of China. Biggest one is in Mongolia region, if I recall. He knew that China was artificially propping their economy by allowing companies to take debt and build so many building and huge projects and that bubble is going to burst some day. I had asked him if he knew then why does external agencies and govt are funding China, answer was simple huge returns provided were very attractive. This was about 9 years ago and China has sustained this bubble for almost 15+ years and it is finally bursting.

The most important thing is that... The overall debt on India is in Indian rupees... Whereas debt on china is in dollars... The govt of India must pay all its debts and pay the amount to our banks and RBI
RBI already had profit of 3.10 lakh crore rupees
It doesn't matter whatever the debt is in rupees or in any other source, remember if the debt is not served on time the currency collapses causing Hyperinflation (best example Venezuela), in this case Poland , Russia are playing best in planning their debts keeping their debt as low as possible especially Russia(yes they kept debt in Rubles, but they learnt the lesson when USSR collapsed, so always they keep their debt low), but yes this current Govt has nice policy so we can hope that incoming we can reduce the debt burden, 40% debt to GDP is the ideal conditions to grow the economy organic way
