You can always find joycon serial #’s by plugging those joycons into the switch. Go into settings, scroll down to system, and lastly you scroll down to serial numbers. It will tell you the serial # of your console and the two joycons plugged in.

Very late to the party here, but from my experience, they don't seem to replace your joycons, I have a skin on my joycons, and when I sent my left one in, it came back and was cleaned up as well as fixed.

I believe the reason it came back more blue is because recently they seem to have been just sending out replacement joycons so those are just brand new probably
I sent my joycons last week and all they did was replace the joysticks on my left joycon (neon blue) and completely replaced my right joycon. (neon red) from my experience, it was pretty easy and all

@@spiderymantis4226 unfortunately this is only for joycon drift, if there’s anything else wrong they’d charge money to fix it. If it’s not too big of a problem I’d just claim to have drift and chances are they’re just going to replace them anyway. Entirely up to you!

Wow! I sent my Joy cons to Nintendo for the drift issue in March 2020. When I received them they kept coming back with drift or button or overheating issues and I been sending them back and forth to Nintendo for total of 10+ repairs. Finally few days ago Nintendo told me they can No Longer repair or replace my Joy cons. I have to sell my 4 pairs that have button issues (minnior) and buy brand new pairs. Then I have another pair that already has drift and so I am getting ready to repair it myself and so I am no longer sending things to Nintendo

I sent 3 of them. 2 had stick drift and 1 had physical damage. All of them were fixed for free!

You’re absolutely welcome! So you have to ship it with your own box and all but when they ship it back they’ll ship it in a proper box of their own, I hope that answered your question.

@@kevton1397 UPS packaged it for me I just gave them the joy con, the note Nintendo said to include, gave them a barcode on my phone for the shipping label, and they said I was good to go and 15 days later I got my joy con back fully fixed.

Just got my joycons delivered! I sent in a pair of white joycons which in reality were once red/blue (shell swap) ig Nintendo didn’t notice😅 but they didn’t fix the drift issue on my right joycon and instead provided me a free extra pair white joycons (official ones) i don’t know if whether to be mad but hey now I have a total of 12 joycons😂 (1 drifting still😢) I have this much cuz my big fam plays a lot of multiplayer games like just dance😅

@@DivineWolff this place will not take the switch Lite for repair, what about if your Lite has drifting where are you suppose to send it?? Fortunately i don’t have that issue with my Lyte but incase.

Hey, just wanted to say that this video definitely helped. There is one thing I was wondering though. Does UPS provide bubblewrap, crinkly paper, or kitchen wrap for food (that it lists as part of the instructions in the email I got according to Nintendo)? I'm pretty sure that I don't have any on hand. I also know that this video was made years ago so I don't expect you to respond to this quickly. Thanks for making this video!
Sorry for such a late reply, unfortunately UPS charges for such things. I would recommend just to make do with what you have at home just to save money. The only thing UPS does is print the label.
When I'm sending my joy cons to Nintendo do I have to put the joy con serial number or the tablet?
Never send the tablet, only the joycons. But when filling out the application you put the serial number of your switch! The video explains step by step how to do it.

Yes you use the switch serial number, just make sure they’re real Nintendo joycons and not alternatives because they’ll only fix real Nintendo joycons.

I just filled out the form. I packaged my left blue joy con and put a note inside the package. Now I just need to go to library print off the shipping label and tape the package closed. I have joy con drift with my left joy con. My friend told me to mail it into Nintendo for free repair. She did it with her son’s joy con and got it back two weeks after she mailed it in. I don’t want to spend $80 on a new joy cons set so that’s why I’m letting Nintendo fix mine for free. I’m tired of my character in ACNH walking off by herself. Or spinning around on her own when I’m trying to position her to dig up fossils and stuff in the ground.
That’s exactly how I noticed my controllers had drift! My AC character started walking on its own!

Hmmm I’m not sure, you can try seeing if there’s an option to print it yourself but it’s really simple to print at UPS. All you do is show them the QR code and that’s literally it and free of charge as well! And you’re absolutely welcome! 🥳

Ahhhh I got the switch on Christmas of 2020 and I thought I wouldn’t have this issue but today while playing some games I’ve noticed a slight drift, then earlier today I started playing Turnip boy and it keeps spamming attacks or watering random stuff...it’s so stressful to play

I'm not sure if I should do this but I have my right white joycon that kinda the A button works but not responding correctly sometimes whenever I press or hold.
When sending joycons, do they replace the shell too, or just fix the joystick. I am wondering this because I have some scratches on my joycon, and it would be nice if they fixed that too but I don’t know if they do that.
In some cases they replace the shell, in my case I think they might have cause they came back extremely clean and full of color, or they simply cleaned it. But there is a chance they’ll change it.

Good news! They came back with the decal still on them and working perfectly:D only downside is my blue one has a huge scratch on the back of it that wasn't there when I sent them.

You will not, in fact, the process might take even longer to fix them since some info is incorrect

hello! I sent mine in a week ago, and I had the same thing. One joycon drifted more than the other. I ended up sending both in, and Nintendo just finsihed the repair, and it is currently getting shipped. So, I recommend sending both in.

When you complete the application, you’ll be emailed a UPS prepaid label, so you wouldn’t have to pay at all. Unfortunately I’m not sure if the service is available in Sweden. If you were able to successfully submit a help ticket and received the UPS email label and your help ticket confirmation, you should be all set, but if it didn’t let you submit an application because of where you reside, then the service isn’t available to you. You can always call Nintendo’s customer service just to be sure.
Since the joy-cons can be fixed free of charge, all thanks to Nintendo, do PlayStation & Xbox have the same thing, if you’re having controller issues as well?

Only works for America and when u select The outside of America section it’s a different language if you then translate that page it’ll tell you to go and submit a web ticket and when you submit a Web ticket it just sends you back to the page and the different language again. And you can’t text or do a live chat with them because there’s a both down.

When you dropped your package off at UPS you should have received a receipt with the tracking number, make sure you keep that. I would go ahead and call Nintendo Support at +1-800-255-3700 and tell them about your situation. I think you can figure something out over the phone but since you did forget to add that note, the process might take longer than usual, I highly recommend calling them to explain because they did need to know where it’s going to and what’s wrong with the joycons.

I just bought the monster hunter rise switch and my ZL button is not working right.
I have to press it super hard even after the click to get an input to register.
Its kinds disappointing. Stick drift is one thing but arguably the most important button in rise not working right. Ouch XD

My joy cons stopped working right about 2 years ago now and it's odd because I had owned it a while before that even became an issue but I think It was because I used to play with multiple people a lot so that could be why and then drifting was still being discovered so I will try this so I can have another reason to play my switch.

Yeah, they would fix it for free. My joycons have drift and one of my joycon stick is like stuck and broken and they fixed all that. If you're still unsure, you can always contact them via the nintendo website

These are the ones that came with my system but they do repair other joycons too! When you’re doing the application it gives you the names of all the joycon colors :)

Each individual joycon is considered one. So you select the amount of joycons you are sending and then the color for each

I printed out the label on my printer and I have a zip loc bag for my Joy Cons. Do I also need to bring a cardboard box when I bring it in the the UPS store? Cuz I don’t think I have a “shipping box”
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question
Not a dumb question at all! You of course need to ship this in any secure shipping box, if you don’t have one at home you can always purchase one at the UPS store and they’ll pack it for you. Just make sure you write the details down on a piece of paper as I mentioned in the video and include that in the box as well.

I would just claim that you’re experiencing drift cause they only fix that for free & anything else is $$$ so maybe they’ll fix your issue that way without them knowing but it’s entirely up to you. I’ve never tried it myself.
