- In just a few short years, Israel has become the holy land for veganism, including now having the world`s highest per capita vegan population. From a prime minister touting Meatless Monday, to a vegetarian president, to vegan options for soldiers in the army, a prime-time TV show vegan winner, and dozens of new vegan restaurants in the tiny nation, the nation`s experiencing a major shift toward vegan lifestyle. This talk presents to you this fascinating story: How did it happen? Was there a trigger event? What approach seemed to work with Israelis? Is it related to the tough political situation? And lastly, what can we learn from it and offer other nations in the attempt at spreading the vegan movement further?
I don't expect a vegetarian or vegan United States within my lifetime but it would be amazing to visit a 90%+ vegan Israel before I die. Great talk!
I'm proud of them Israelis!
Great to see more and more people awakening world wide
I always says fight for the animals has a capacity to unify humans from different countries and different religions. I’m happy to see a beginning of humanity in this world and I hope future will be better. The future of humanity depends of the way humanity treats animals who can not harm and defend themselves.
What a wonderful inspiring talk , how refreshing to see something so positive about Israel that is not connected to all the sad conflict that is usually dominating the news , this is the other side , a beauty , and rich cultural reality that is also part of Israel and it's people : ) love the idea of the worlds first Vegan Nation , love from your brothers and sisters in Cornwall, UK, PEACE
Proud of my country
I am proud for you sister Liza : )
Israel take a round of applause from Brasil....fantastic.
...and applause from us in Cornwall, UK
High five to Israel as the first vegan nation! Keep up the amazing work!
how about india? aren't more vegans there? isn't veganism kinda specific to asian countries? to say that they are the first vegan nation might be culturally inappropriate.
You are quite right. India and Bangladesh have the lowest registered meat consumption per capita (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_meat_consumption). I don't know how much dairy and other animal products they consume though.
But Palitana in India might become the first vegan city in the world (officially and legally) or is it already?
Well, if Isreal becomes the first country that officially and legally becomes vegan, then it will be the first vegan country in the world? It is all about definition.
Why is it inappropriate? No asian countries practice veganism as a way to good health for example. The core definition og veganism is that you don't consume animal products.
Plant Sugar they'll never become that because of their religion. Their religion still practices some sacrifices done by rabbi, if I'm not wrong. It's just some sort of propaganda, as they always do for need of attention and to boost their ego. I'm sure there are some of them with good intentions but given the history, wouldn't generalise. For them, it's trendy and that's all.
Plant Sugar also, as a vegan I can only be happy to see more people making this choice.:)
There is a lot of good info out there regarding that the religion actually might be vegan.
I don't think it's a trend, I truly believe it's a revolution and it's here to stay. I gave up everything and left my home in Denmark.
This is great to listen your talk about veganism. I am Indian vegetarian. It is sad that India a Holy Land of Lord Mahavira, Buddha and many other is diverting to non-vegetarian diet. Where Israel is working on Veganism. great work great food I love Israel.
I get a lot of inspiration from this, and shared it on my facebook page. I admire Israeli vegans who promote vegan life style in different ways, reaching out to people with inspiration for the kitchen, large animal rights marches and other activities, as well as Israeli animal rights activists. Calf 269 is a symbol as well for me, being a Swedish animal rights activist. I personally also have gotten a lot of inspiration from the fairly new and growing movement with christian vegans/vegetarians - as I am myself a believing christian.. Among the leading profiles of this movement is the English anglican priest Andrew Linzey, and pastor Frank Hoffman in the USA. Shalom to you all. Greetings from Sweden !! 🙂
I would like to visit this amazing country and try their version of vegan food.
Love Israel from india
Veganism is the future.
Your future I'll have my stake medium rare
@@izyco80Hey more power to ya, just be wary of your significantly increased risk of heart disease (diabetes, atherosclerosis, etc.)& the likes... & Obviously your lack of empathy & SUPPORT for animals in suffering. 👏
Truth be told I'm not even a perfect vegan. I slip up ALL the time (animal by-products, not meat) thanks to my weak willpower living at home with a vegetarian & 2 omnivores. But I TRY, that's the point. Cus I care about 3 things... THE ANIMALS, MY HEALTH & THE PLANET!!! WAKE UP!
No future, Arabs will be eating meat and take over Israel easy. XD
OK that will be the end of the world then 😹
hummus and falafel is vegan af and I love it :D
you don't need to ask for more :)
I wish I could live in Israel.
This is really very inspiring, if possible, translate this video into different languages and show it, especially Hindi. This will motivate many people not to eat meat.
Thank u Chen
Daniel 12, “2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
I knew this would happen...I had this weird dream/idea about.... Israel becoming the first official Vegan country/nation in the world...and become an example and leading vegan trainer/promoter to the world...no wonder...they were called god's chosen ones and so called israelites... I'm starting to understand this finally..☺️
YES
Mark 16, 15 "He said to them: 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'"
Isaiah 35, "4 Say to those with fearful hearts, 'Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.' 5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert."
Isaiah 2, "12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: 13 And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, 14 And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, 15 And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, 16 And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. 17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 18 And the idols will totally disappear."
Isaiah 26, "21 For behold, the Lord is coming out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed on it, and will no more cover its slain."
Psalm 75, "8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. 10 All the horns of the wicked I will cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted."
Way to go Israel 👍
Why you guys don't give the real credits to the original Vegan community that introduced Israel to the Vegan diets, I am talking about the African Hebrew Israelites Of Jerusalem that resides in Dimona.
3rd highest incidents of diabetes in OECD countries.
"A Kingdom of Priests and a Holy nation" has come to this?
