Okay, you have made a game-changer of a video! For the longest time, I've wanted to know how to measure a card online, and it's so much easier than I ever imagined! Thank you, and you did such an amazing job on that card! The custom artwork makes it all that more special! 😁
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind comment, it means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Amazing stuff man! Lots of respect for making original artwork. I know it must feel great to show those off!
It does! Thank you so much! I’m really glad you like them :D
I don't know if you guys know this but I want to try and help you guys, so you might struggle to fit 3 rows of 3 cards onto the doc , or change the inches to centimeters so you can correctly size the cards. so to use cm go to "manage your account" and Serch language, then select English then scroll all the way down and select united kingdom. and to move the card anywhere if you do to file > page setup you can change top to 0 so you can place images closer to the top of the page, then click on the card and select move with text then you can position them anywhere. ( If I was unclear please tell me in the replys I have notifications on and will usually reply in at most 3 days, or should I just make a short video explaining it for you and link It in this comment?)
What do u do when u select united kingdom It it just done and you refresh the doc
@@johnhumenzar9820 ya when you select it you can just refresh the doc and you get centimeters, don't worry about changing the language or anything because you can just change it back later (there shouldn't be a problem navigating back because it should still be in English just uk version)
Bro saved me 15 minutes of trying to figure this out
Ah yes, changing the margins to fit 3 on a page is definitely something I wish I had added! At the time, I wasn’t sure how many people were using google docs, or how many people would care to arrange it, but I regret it! If I ever re-make the video in the future, I’ll definitely have to add that, but thanks for taking the time to write this comment! It seems it has already helped some people :D
thanks for this i got to Centimeters with your help and had to adjust my margins , i went to File- page setup top 0.5 bottom 0 left 3.5 right 0 . saved as a pdf worked perfect
You could also use a corner cutter for the corners, there are a bunch of different sizes, and I’m sure there’s some perfect for cards. From what I saw, they’re around 10 or less dollars.
You're exactly right! And if you want to make a lot of cards that could save A LOT of work. Not to mention it comes out perfect every time. I'll probably finally mLq the investment next time I do this!
Big brain I might get one but I’ll be doing with paper because my parents definitely won’t help me and I definitely don’t have money for a special printer and transparent paper
If you don’t have access to transparent paper nor a printer, and you can’t get it printed elsewhere like Staples (it’s very cheap by the way, it cost me 10 cents per page), then don’t worry, there are still many methods you can use to make cards!
I have this video right here, which uses a printer:
How to Make Your Own Pokémon Cards!
czcams.com/video/jQOi2kMlS54/video.html
But I also have videos on how to draw your own Pokémon cards, completely from scratch, so you don’t need any materials at all! You can find those on my channel, I have one for drawing a full art card (uploaded about a month ago actually), and one for drawing regular cards.
Hope this helps!!
I've found that scissors for fingernails work very well, especially the curved ones. Makes it very easy to clip off those edges with one snip :)
Thank you for this detailed tutorial! Absolutely stunning final results! After watching this video, I am in the process of turning my artwork into a card--going to Staples this week hopefully! Thank you again!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, especially enough to make your own!
Let me know how it turns out! And if you have any questions at all in the process, you can also let me know, and I'd be happy to help!
@@Witkomon thank you! Have a wonderful day!
Thank YOU! And have a nice day as well :)
Your video’s are super interesting to watch! You should deserve more than ever!
Thanks so much! I'm really glad you enjoy the videos :)
@@Witkomon I drew a M charizard X 😂😂😂 ❤
Oh that's awesome! Mega charizard X is so cool, definitely the best of the two megas!
@@Witkomon OMG THANK YOU FOR REPLYING
This video deserves a million views! Thanks so much for uploading this!
This tutorial is very helpful thank you so much!
Nice to see you back! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
If you're creating the image you could also leave certain areas of the image more transparent than others so you can get more of a Shawnee holographic effect in. In the said area
Yes! That’s definitely correct! Really dark areas tend not to have much holo shine, but really light areas have a lot!
Thank you so much for having an amazing video! I've been reorganizing my cards by type and before each type, I put the corresponding holographic energy- but, surprise! There are no dragon-type energy cards that match the theme of the other energy cards! Thank you so much!
So you made your own? That's so awesome! I wonder what a dragon type energy card would look like, probably pretty cool! Maybe a deep yellow, or even navy blue background!
I'm really glad you enjoyed the video though! And I appreciate the kind comment :D
EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!!!!! GOOD JOB💪
Glad I could help :D
Thank you for making this video. Just created a blastoise Pokémon Vmax for a homie. The first card was the hardest to do, after that it gets easier. Lots of fun. I appreciate ya tons for making this possible.
No problem! That’s so awesome to hear! The first time was definitely the hardest for me as well, but then once you know how to do it, it’s easy! I’m glad you enjoyed the video :D
Thank you very much for this video! I'm making a few cards for my friend and I'm sure the outcomes from following your process will impress him.
No problem! I’m really glad I could help, good luck! Your friend is one lucky person, to have such an awesome friend as you to make them custom cards! I wish you were my friend!!
As soon as I saw this video i got back into pokemon because these cards are awsome!
Aww, haha, that’s awesome! I’m really glad I could get you back into Pokemon! Good luck making some your own! They are awesome, right?!
This is legit the best one i have this is legit the best video i have found so far!😅 thanks so much
No problem! I’m glad you liked it :)
omg thank you so much! this was so helpful
no problem! I’m glad you liked it :)
Bro thank so much I made my own Charizard v full art it was so fun looking forward for more awesome videos
That’s so awesome! Can never go wrong with Charizard, I’m guilty of really overusing him myself haha!
I’m really glad you enjoyed the video though! It means a lot that you even found it helpful enough to make your own card :)
you made it look pretty straightforward!
Well, that's the goal, afterall! I'm glad I could make it look straightforward for you, and I hope that it really was just as easy when you did it (or perhaps understood it!)
Very very cool, planning on doing this, thank you for the tutorial!!
No problem! I'm really glad you enjoyed it:)
What Pokemon do you plan on making?
@@Witkomon I want to do something with Snorunt unsurprisingly by my icon haha
Ah! That's awesome! Snorunt is such a unique pokemon! It's always cool when people have a favorite that's not something like Charizard or Pikachu! Lol!
This looks awesome and i will definitely try to do this in the near future. but i was wondering, if there is a way to add a texture, like in a fullart card, on to the custom card? because i think that would make it feel alot more real and give it another perspective. if not thats fine. great video!
Hey! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! As for the texture, I’m not too sure about that. It definitely would look awesome, and I have had a couple people ask, but it seems difficult. I have never actually tried to do it myself, but I did have one person say that they found using a ballpoint pen to engrave the card worked for them. Perhaps try that!
Wow you are so talented, idk how you don’t have way more subs than this, but the effort that goes into your videos is crazy. Love the way that groudon looks, and also you could maybe sell some of the custom cards you make, I’ve seen other people that have done that and I’m pretty sure a lot of people would want to buy your amazing cards. Thanks for this video bro 👌🏾
Aw, thanks so much for the kind comment! I really appreciate it :)
The work I put into these videos are all worth it when people like you enjoy them!
Also, I'm glad you like the Groudon card! I've thought about selling my custom cards actually, so maybe sometime in the future!
No problem man 😁
Aww I like your style 😅
Thank you! I’m making a custom pug Pokémon! Now of course I can’t print it yet since I don’t have transparent paper or spray glue 😅 but I will eventually! Tysm for the tut!
That's such a cool idea! I bet it will turn out awesome!
I remember when I was a kid I used to just draw them with markers on a piece of paper. Now that I've gotten into pokemon again I can do it better than before, so thanks for this video! The cards came out really well.
That's so awesome! I'm the exact same haha! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, especially that you even made your own! Which pokemon did you end up making?
@@Witkomon I made a charizard GX, which is my highest HP pokemon card at the moment. It honestly turned out way better than I expected it to!
That's awesome! Can't go wrong with Charizard!
@@Witkomon Yep! Especially happy since it's my favorite pokemon
this shows how much work is put into making cards

Yeah! It definitely isn't easy! I can't imagine how much MORE work going I to making the real artwork though!
Omg i need that! Also you deserve at least a million subs bc your content is too awsome
Aw thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
bro ww have to same icon lol
Its kinda shocking to see how much your video quality has improved over time
well done!
Aw, thank you so much! I’m really glad that you appreciate the work I put in, it makes it all worth it :)
I agree😊
Thank you :)
Looks so cool
Thanks :)
This is awesome! I’m super DIY and craftsy, I made a custom Pokémon card for our business with my husband and my dog, it’s so stinking cute- I wanted to make some nice cards like these. I love this tutorial, I have never seen that transparency paper and now I’m wondering what awesome projects I am about to get rabbit holed in😂 I’m definitely subscribing and checking out more! Thank you!
Wow, I'm really glad that you enjoyed the video, especially enough to make your own card! That custom card sounds often, and haha, you're definitely going to get sucked down the rabbit hole! Pokemon DIY is endless, and ALL super cute!
Yooo amazing video! I appreciate it very much, the design is awesome,
Do you know how to only make the background holo?, so the pokemon stands out more, not being holo
This is amazing!!! Absolutely going to try this at some point :)
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! What Pokemon are you thinking of doing :)
@@Witkomon I'll have to think about it for sure 🤔. Maybe my favorite pokemon, Feraligatr!
Ooooh! That sounds awesome! I love Feraligatr as well, gen 2 is one of my absolute favorites! Also, I don't think Feraligatr has been made into a full art before right? At least I don't recall any! So that could be really unique!
@@Witkomon i got into collecting again around sword and shield era so i'm unsure about the previous gens but i know for sure feraligatr hasn't gotten a fullart in gen 8. Would be awesome to change that by making a Feraligatr fullart :)
I love to draw so I just need to practice drawing pokemon more and then make lots of cards i hope! I also am a fan of Splatoon so i thought it'd be cool to draw cards with inklings/octolings with pokemon :)
@@Witkomon question, if i were to rip a card, a real one shows a black line, but will these custom ones show black lines?
Thanks for a great video !
No problem! I'm glad you liked it!
Would be cool if you made a tutorial for dragonball cards!! What type of printer do you use? Also, do you know of any printers that could print directly ontona card itself?
There’s a cabinet corner cutter used to round the corners for hardware you could get a perfect corner using that.
That's a good idea! Definitely the next time I make a video like this I'm going to increase the quality, and that could be a good way of doing so!
I loved your video, and just now got into making custom cards! I was curious if you know of a way to add the texture like on Vs and Vmaxs. I know they add it on after the design but have no idea how to make something like that lol thanks
Custom cards are a lot of fun, it's awesome to hear that you've gotten into them! As for the texture, I'm not sure if it's possible to be honest... I at least have yet to find a way!
Very interesting thank you for sharing your knowledge! Also don't feel too bad about removing those images. Every low rarity card that gets tarnished slightly increases the rarity and value of that card, so its a win win.
LOL, that true, but there's SO many of them, I'm not sure I'm really doing much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video though :)
Thank you witkomon
No problem! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
When I stripped down the card with acetone, the card didn’t become holographic and rather just became white, do you know why? It was reverse holo
This was the best video and the one I needed! Thank you so much!!! The art is going to be the tricky part for me but I'm excited to make custom Xmas packs this year!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Try your best with the art, but you don't HAVE to draw it yourself! You can always take art from the internet, or even trace stuff and add your own touches! It's entirely up to you!
Let me know if you have any questions along the way, I'd be happy to help!
@Witkomon that means a lot. I decided to buy the paper and try my hand at printing it at home. I am going to get all the cards ready to print tonight and hopefully get my paper tomorrow morning. I am pretty excited! If I can get it down pat I would love to send you one after I make.a couple !
Sounds awesome! Let me know how they turn out!!
is it possible just to print directly onto the card? (if aligned my printer supports)
the legend returns
Haha! Long time no see! Though I don't know if I'm the legend here, I think that's you!
No way you are super cool bro. I like your art skills.
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you like it :)
this is such a helpful video and resource! did you use a jpg or a png for your image and does the file type matter in the end?
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
In the end, the file type does not matter at all, it can be anything, as long as you can print it. As for the image, my final image was a JPG, but while I was working on it I definitely used a lot of PNGs. The template, for example, was a PNG so that I could put the art behind it. Other things like the V symbol were PNGs, and so forth. Anything that needs to be transparent, was transparent, and that’s the great thing with PNGs!
I’m having some trouble resizing the card in doc because when ever i put in the width and length the scale always gets changed is there any way that I can fix that?
Hi my kids love this but we’re having problems sourcing the Elmers craft bond spray glue. Can you recommend a store? We tried 3M art spray glue but it left clumps of glue on the card. Cheers
After printing the cards out my wordings arent as clear as i hoped to be. How do i make they more focused? For the spray glue, we have to use clear spray glue right?
If you do it to a vmax or full art won't the card have texture?
Do you have a recommendation for the spray-on adhesive to use? Do you also have a recommendation for the percent of acetone? Thank you!
You need 100% pure acetone, which is nail polish removers, so any should work. As for the spray adhesive, there are no specific brands, any should work just fine. I used an Elmer one in this video, and it was great!
This is one of the best video about custom pokemon cards ive ever seen! But i have some questions about it before creating one or two cards by myself:
-how do you make a texture like the one on full arts?
-your Groudon card is fully holographic, but you can see that some parts on regular v or full arts arent (like the text). How can we make these part non-holo?
-i dont have a lot of holographic cards, so do you think that there is something similar to this holigraphic pattern and the card paper?
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed it!!
As for your questions, I’m not sure about the texture! One person suggested taking a ballpoint pen, or something alike, and using it to create interactions on the transparent paper. That could work!
Now, making some parts non-holo, honestly, I don’t think its worth the effort. It would be a lot of work, and it wouldn’t improve the card too much I don’t think. I didn’t even notice that about my card haha! It still looks great! If you really wanted to do it though, perhaps you can cut out some opaque paper, and place it behind the transparent paper exactly where you don’t want any holo.
And for your last, yes! Holographic Pokémon cards are the best because they have the back, and they are already the exact size, so if you don’t have any, I would just recommend buying some. One comes in every pack guaranteed, but you can also buy cheap bulk on eBay. If you don’t want to do that, you could just buy holographic paper. There is lots available on Amazon, and I’m sure you can find it in stores too!
@@Witkomon tysm for your answer!
No problem! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Witkomon I drew a custom charizard evolution and with squrtle and bulbasaur evolution. My parents were so proud and they picture framed it ! Thanks to you ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️👌🏻🥹. You are =😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Woah! That sounds so cool! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you so much for the kind comment! It really does mean a lot :)
my fav
youtuber
Aww thank you!
Can you tell me where did you buy holographic sheets
Is there a way to not damage the condition of the card?
I love your videos!! For my card, I decided to draw my own, and it looks perfect! But I would like to know if a normal glue stick would work when glueing.
I'm glad you enjoy the videos!! Hmm, a normal gluestick _should_ work, though spray adhesive is the better choice! A glue stick might potentially leave some streaks
I have a question, do you happen to have any more templates for different types for the V border frame? I was just asking because I saw a water one and it’s hard to find more. At least I have trouble finding the one I wanted.
If you’d just like to change the type, you don’t actually need a new template for that! Just look up an image of the Energy you need, they’re usually pretty easy to find, and just add that!
Dawn, hope I make 1 in future too!
Good luck!!
@witkomon What kind of paper for printing at staples please? any specific lamination finishes? there are so many options i'm not sure which one would look best, i love how yours look its badass, thank you very much for this awesome tutorial btw !
Hey! Sorry for a bit of the late reply!
Actually, nothing specific! I took my USB to staples, and asked to print on transparency paper, that’s all! I don’t believe there is much variation in types, anything should work!
I’m glad you enjoy the video though! It means a lot :D
A bit of an odd question, but have you ever tried to do this with a textured card? (such as a more fancy full art, or maybe a rainbow variant of a card?) and if so, does it keep the texture, or is that something that comes off with the acetone as well?
Hmm, personally I have never tried to add texture. I have seen some people do it, with things like a ball point pen etching a pattern into the card, but it seems a little complicated, and it won't look perfect.
The pokemon company does it in a factory, not soon sure if it's possible to replicate perfectly at home
Quick question. If you were trying to do a double-sided Holo/Foil card, what would you recommend for the sacrificial card? I assume Pokemon cards are only Holo on their front? I'm looking to make a custom Holo/Foil for a game where you flip the card often and use front and back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hmm, that’s a tough one! I don’t believe there has ever been a Pokemon card with holo foil both on the front and back… Its still possible though! You can always just make one side holo, and one side not, but that might not be as exciting eh? What if you just made a double sided card? Simply did one card, did another, and then glued them together. You would then just have one thick, double sided card! It might even be better actually, because if you are constantly switching cards you’d want them to be durable!
@@Witkomon I think this is what I'm going to do. I just bought all the materials and I'm going to give this a go. The transparency paper gets delivered tomorrow. I'm very excited to try! I'll let you know how the double-sided turns out!
i enjoyed the video thanks, and also i liked and subscribed.
Aww, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it!
yes i do, thanks men.i really wanted to make pokemon cards, a dream come true man.
@@Witkomon can i help your viewers to make pokemon custom?
I’m glad I could help :D
Hey, just have a small question. Where did you get the transparency paper from? I don't want to make any mistakes lol. Thanks for making this video btw!
Actually, I didn't! I had my card printed at Staples, so they supply everything! Ink, paper, everything!
If you do want to do it yourself though, anything, really, should work. Most all transparency papers work are the same, just make sure it has descent reviews and you'll be fine! As long as the ink sticks to it, it's fine! The ink and printer are what's more important there!
Awsome!
No u :)
I have a question. So when you make the pokemon cards if you make the card a rainbow or yellow and black secret rare do they still have the glowing colour?
Yes! Although, the holo doesn’t tend to shine much through black, so just the yellow accents would be the most shiny, which would actually be quite cool!
How do you get such perfect cuts with the sliding paper cutter? whenever I use mine, I either take off material from the print or leave a border around the print.
I tried to make mine perfect, but not all of them were actually. A lot of them had a little bit of extra trimming to do, which isn’t too much of a bad thing. It’s better to leave a little extra, and have to cut it, then cut off too much and not be able to use the card at all!
Nice work! Is it possible to print the swirling pattern that most recent pokemon cards have?
Hmm, it depends! If you wanted to strip an actually vintage holo, then yes, those do work... Though, I would never do that haha! As for the new cards, I'd imagine that stripping a holo energy and such should work... Though I haven't tried it myself so I'm not 100% sure!
hey why when sizing the card it becomes alot bigger than usual! like it nearly takes up the entire page when i put in the exact things (edit) figured it out its because it was in inches not centimetres
this is so cool
I’m glad you like it :)
Awesome 🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾
Thank you :)
Hey bro, you have an impressive artistic experience
Aww, thank you so much :D
Is there a certain size you use when creating the design or does it not matter?
What do you mean by the design? If you are referring to the template for the entire card, then yes, size definitely does matter! You want to make it 6.3cm x 8.8cm so that when you print it it will fit perfectly onto a real pokemon card.
If you mean the drawing, then no, size doesn't really matter. You can crop the drawing any way, so the size of the original drawing is not particularly important. Of course, you still want to plan it though so that it will actually look like what you want it when cropped
This is the best way and no one will ever notice. Hit you a quick lick too at these stores haha.
Haha they sure look realistic!
I love your videos!
Thank you! I appreciate it :)
I’m looking for sports card customer work and this video was great! I’m using custom foil instead of sacrificing a dummy card but same approach.
That sounds awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Using custom foil is smart, and you’re right, not so much changes. I might do a full video on that approach sometime!
Good idea. Any suggestions on which foil to get? I'm having trouble finding it online.
I haven’t used any myself unfortunately, so can’t make any recommendations… but, Amazon would probably be your place to go! Find one with good reviews, and a design you like, should be perfect! You can either choose a thinner one, and glue it to a real Pokémon card, or just choose a thicker card stock type paper and just use that!
@@Witkomon thanks for the reply. My problem is that I honestly have no idea what to search for or what custom foil actually is.
Hey great video! Very helpful. I'm in the process of making a couple custom cards of my own right now and had a thougt (forgive me if it's in another video). Do you ever have issues with the print scratching or wiping off? Wouldn't it be more protected to flip the image horizontally so you can flip the transparency paper and have the image printed on the back side of it? Kind of like a built-in lamination?
Hmm, can't say I've tried filliping them before, but I'd probably recommend just doing it normally. I've never had an issue with the print scratching, maybe some very minor scratches and blemishes here and there, but nothing serious enough.
If you wanted to flip it, it would work though. I'm taking a look at some of my sheets right now, and you're right, it would offer a lot of extra protection. No need to use a sleeve. However, the card is then very glossy, takes away from the holo, and artwork a bit in my opinion. So it's up to you if the trade off is worth it!
@@Witkomon Ok great, thank! I appreciate the insight! Guess I’ll do a couple trials to see how it affects the art. Good to know about the glossy-ness change!
No problem! Let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to help :D
Is there an app where I can adjust the card size on mobile?
Hello, may I ask what printer you recommend for this project? I just ordered an Epson XP 15000 but I am not sure if I made the right choice getting an inkjet vs laser printer. Also, I am not sure on what film to buy for it. Please help.
Honestly, I've only ever had mine printed at Staples, since its it's relatively cheap to do it there, and they have extremely high quality printers and ink.
That said, I did print myself a couple times. As long as you have a descent quality inkjet or laser that should totally be okay. Yours looks good. The paper as well, doesn't matter THAT much. Just look for something cheap on Amazon, with good reviews. What matters most is your ink, so make sure not to cheap out on that!
Super dope video
Thank you :)
when i went to change the size everything kept changing do you know why?
Great video! Really like it. I actually had made some Pokemon Cards like this couple years ago. However, I had used a sticker sheet paper (and I printed it at home). I always found that printing it this way made the card either too blurry or too dark.
I wish that the colours of the Groundon card in your video would pop more (especially the border); that they would be more vibrant. Would you have a good solution for that?
I’m glad you liked it! I totally get what you’re saying about the colours, actually, I felt the same way. Honestly, I’m not sure too much can be done about that. It is printing on transparent paper after all. But, I also used kind of dull colours to begin with, lots of blacks and browns. I’ve found brighter colours tend to pop a lot more, so maybe try to stick to more vibrant colours if you want them to pop a little more!
Hey was wondering if this would work on a textured card just to add a little bit more spice to it, would like to know before I sac a full art lol
No, I wouldn't recommend doing that lol. I tried it actually, so I can tell you it wasn't a good idea before you destroy one of yours haha.
First of all, if was INCREDIBLY hard to rub off the inc. Like, way too hard. I ended up damaging the card a lot doing that.
Second, it doesn't even matter because when you put the transparent paper on top it covers the texture lol.
So, yeah, wouldn't recommend! Doing a reverse holo is way way easier, and honestly it still loosing amazing!
What art size should I do for making card
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
I was wondering how to make a holo cd for my trading set
No problem! I'm glad I could help you make your own holo card! And I'm really glad you enjoyed the video too :D
What drawing program did you use to create the image?
I used Procreate for the drawing, GoDaddy Studio for the template, and Phonto for the fonts! (All on mobile by the way, and all free aside from Procreate!)
I know im late to the party! But ive been working on mine and im struggling to get the inc off the card without getting some fade or residue on the back edges. Any thoughts or how to fix this problem?
Hey! Really sorry for the late reply! So, honestly, it’s never been perfect for me, I always damage the back at least _slightly_ , but you can minimize it as much as possible. You’ll want to try and use less acetone, and try to keep the card from moving on the table if you can. If you’re using too much acetone, it’ll get behind the card, and damage it with the movement.
Does printing the frront and back of 8 pokemon cards use lots of ink?
Depends on how much ink your card requires. The backs are very blue heavy, so printing 8 of those, will probably require quite a lot of blue ink. If you’re doing it once, probably isn’t a big deal, but if you’re printing lots of sheets of 8, yeah, might be a problem. (Though, why would you be printing the backs as well?)
Awesome the Groudon is absolutely amazing! Why not make a Kyogre or Rayquaza to go with it?
That’s a great idea! Imagine having the entire trio! Rayquaza is just such a cool Pokémon, and imagine Krogre in his ocean environment!
Hey, this is so cool! I was wondering though, does Staple actually have that transparent paper available for printing? I haven't been there to print something in a long time!
Hey! Yes they do! I actually brought nothing to Staples but my document on a memory stick, they supplied the transparent paper, inc, printer, everything!
@@Witkomon awesome! I wanted to do this as a Christmas gift for my stepson. Was gonna make a video out of it for my channel too, which is how I found your video! Thanks for the tips!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
No problem! That would make an awesome gift, good luck!
@@WitkomonBut were can you buy it
And can you buy big ones so you can do big cards
Your videos are great! But can you please tell us what website/app you used to draw the card? It looks so real!
Hey! Sorry for a bit of a late reply, but I actually use Procreate on iPad! It’s a paid app, but only once, no silly subscription, and well worth it in my opinion!
What is the name of the app/site where you made the Groudon card
I actually drew the artwork myself, on an app called procreate on the iPad! Then, I used an app called GoDaddy studio to edit the template on, and an app called Phonto for the fonts!
is there a specific film you can print on that soaks ink in enough to not let the holofilm shine through the printed parts? when I print mine, they're obnoxiously shiny and hard to read because of the foil layer. I've tried messing with saturation, contrast, and other settings, but they're TOO shiny
Hmm, well if you don’t want you card to be shiny at all, it might just easier to print it on regular paper, or even on some kind of sticker paper. Then just glue or tape it onto a regular card, and it won’t be shiny at all.
If you want only a SPECIFIC part of your card to be shiny, maybe put some thin paper in between the holo foil and the parts of the transparent paper that you don’t want to be transparent, and I think that should work.
@@Witkomon The thin paper might actually be a viable solution. I do want them to be shiny, but not the entire picture and the text, you know? Like on a real holo, the art and the text is usually completely opaque and easy to read, and the background etc is shiny. I know the real way they're made is heavily printed in layers, but a home printer won't do that.
Exactly! Then yes, if you put some opaque paper behind the parts of your transparent film that you DO NOT want to be shiny, and leave the parts that you DO want to be shiny, then I think that should work beautifully!
What type of transparency paper are you using? Because some how my printer cant print on the transparency paper I bought.
Hmm, that’s strange. I didn’t print it myself, I had it done at staples. But the type of transparency paper you are using should not matter. It’s the printer that matters. Are you using a laser or inkjet printer? Because only those are compatible with transparencies. If not, well, that’s your problem! If you are, then perhaps it’s something in your settings?
Oh! I'm using the HP DeskJet 4158e printer, Thank you so much!!! :)@@Witkomon
what app do you use to color the page digitaly
Procreate on iPad!
Thank you
No problem :)
nice 👍
does this work with rainbow cards
Could you tell me which cards you used that have the holo effect I liked the effect of the one you showed in the conclusion around 9:57 I just wasn’t sure if it was the rare candy card or another you stripped off camera I currently don’t have any Pokémon cards so I’d rather buy a specific card that I know I’ll like the holo effect and that the ink will actually come off with acetone. Side note: I really appreciate this step by step video 10/10 tutorial and the blanks really helped although I opted for using the app with my custom art in the end still much appreciated
Hey! Thanks so much for the kind comment, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!
And yes, that holo card at 9:57 was indeed the rare candy, I just stripped it off camera, but it was that one. I believe any reverse holo card from the XY era with that pattern should result in the same though.
If you're buying them, I would recommend XY or Black and White cards, as I think the holo patterns on those are the nicest. Ive never had any trouble with them, and despite how old they are, commons or uncommons should still be cheap.
Sword and Shield cards also work, but as you saw in the video, it's more of a matte holo.
Sun and Moon cards I would stay away from entirely, I tried a few, and there is no holo backing to those at all actually... Not sure if it was only the one I did, but probably not worth the risk.
@@Witkomonhave you tried any scarlet and violet? Would be very curious to see how those would turn out. 😊
I haven't yet actually! Theres no difference in the process, but you're right, I'd also be interested in seeing how it looks! Maybe I'll make another video sometime!
hi this is amazing.btw do u know where to buy holo card alone as i want to customise the back as well .keep it up!
thanks in advance
Hmm, well your best bet I think would be eBay! You could buy singles, or bulk there for relatively cheap!
@@Witkomon thanks keep it up u definatly will gat the red diamond playbutton oen dayy fro 100 milll
Haha that sure is ambitious! We’ll see, if it does happen I’ll remember you!
I love creating my arts in training card games
I do to! I’m really glad I could help you do it yourself as well :)
I have a question: which photoshop did you use for the text placement and whatnot?
So, for organizing the template elements, the picture etc., I used an app called GoDaddy studio. It's free on both android and IOS. For the fonts, I used an app called Phonto, it's also free!
@@Witkomonperfect. I also have an issue when stripping the holo. I've tried over 6 times, and every time, the back of the card is affected as if the acetone slips right through. Any tips for that?
Ah, yes that's happened to me as well. I have yet to make an absolutely PERFECT card, ever time I do it there's at least a little bit of wear on the back. But it's pretty minimal.
Try using only a small amount of acetone, enough that the cotton ball is damp, but not soaking. If a lot of acetone leaks to the edges-and in turn gets underneath-you'll have damage. Also, try to keep the card relatively still, if you're moving it around a lot while stripping, it's easier for the acetone to get underneath and rub against it.
TLDR: Use less acetone so that it doesn't leak underneath, and keep your card still while stripping, so that the acetone does not rub against!
soooo cool i wish i had one custom too
So do it!!
@@Witkomon i wish i could but i dont have acetone, cotton balls, that paper idk almost everything only reverse holos
Hmm, well there are other ways to make custom cards! You can draw your own from scratch, with nothing but paper, or you can also print your own too! I’ll link some of my videos below, maybe these will help!

But of course, this video is the most accurate-the most true to life! With these, it’s hard to tell the difference! All the materials are rather cheap and easy to get, maybe a summer project!
Do you think it would be possible to erase a real pokemon card like you did, and then print right on it? That would skip the need for the transparent foil thingy
no, its like printing cardboard
