I'm really hyped for a new series, because that means more Nizzahon videos!
and among all those new videos, there could even be a Top 10 Vingage Cards Minus Power Nine!
@@ROMANTIKILLER2
Baton of Morale
Knight of Thorne
Icatian Phalanx
Kjeldoran Phalanx
War Elephant
Mesa Pegasus
Beast Walkers
Benalish Hero
Benalish Infantry
Misha's War Machine
@@Milkybetrayal Really? I honestly expected Workshop or Brainstorm on that list somewhere...
@@Dootium all banding
I know you'll do more than just Tribal archetypes, but I'd love to see the history of Merfolk as well
Merfolk are a tribe
I'm running a goblin and giant deck. Giants would be cool to see if they were even in competitive magic
@@HateIncarnate nah too big and stompy :(
@@jamesgratz4771 with kaldheim there are cheap giants now tho also theres a card called stinkdrinker boggard or something, it reduces giant spells by 2. Pretty major
YES PLEASE!
Your new series just got in to my top 8.
Congrats on 6 years! Have you ever considered discussing how you do your research for your top 10 lists? I feel like that would be interesting to see
The first 6 of many, many more years to come. Really hyped for this new series c=
I was actually going to ask for a history of decks. Leaving MtG for a decade means there's a lot of history I missed
This is a fantastic series idea. I can't wait to see what else you come up with. I'm especially looking forward to elves and maybe even burn.
Very cool new format. I would love to see how Energy based decks changed over time and if they are still relevant today.
The history of Dredge decks, or Dredge-like decks would be so cool. Manaless Dredge is a deck that I just cannot ever wrap my head around, so it'd be fun to find out more about how it got assembled by better minds within the competitive scene
I can't wait to see the rest of the series. I'd love it if you took a look at some decks of the past that don't have a modern day equivalent as well, but for now I'm really happy to see this! keep it up
“I was interested in competitive MTG way back in Onslaught block”. My man. 👊🏼
Ramp is definitely my favorite archetype and would love to see a version of this video about that. Ramp is definitely one of the more diverse archetypes around as well.
Eldrazi would cool for a tribe. Anybody who wasn't around during Eldrazi Winter that deck was so stacked im definitely sure it would still be top tier despite how much power Modern has now.
Honestly my favorite part of the top 10s is the little bits of historical context you provide for why the cards made the list so this might actually become my preferred series if you do more, so yes please do more.
Worth noting that Extended and Legacy goblins decks also functioned as pseudo land destruction decks, with 4 Wasteland and 4 Rishadan Port, which could steal games against clunkier decks / manabases. One interesting spin on Goblins was the Legacy version that splashed white for Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. The idea being that quickly flooding the board with goblins, Thalia's taxing and the various land disruption could be enough to keep the opponent off balance or straight up locked out entirely, while your board of goblins ran them over. It was a bit of a flash in the pan though, although it did score some decent finishes at SCG events back in 2013 (I think).
In terms of ideas for other decks, one could be blue-white control. Starting with The Deck and also covering Caw-Blade, Delver (this is more aggro-control, but still), Sphinx's Rev, Flash and finally Teferi, HoD. I'm sure there are others, but there's a lot just in the last 10 years.
A collab between mtg nizzahon and history nizzahon. I am intrigued.
Loving the new series! Having a history of of deck archetypes further adds insight to the original Top Ten series.
Would love to see deck archetypes that are not usually seen in standard or historic. Maybe Maverick, Rock, and Lands decks.
I'm 0:01 in and I'm already hating life. So that's appropriate for the subject at hand.
Congratulations on 6 years and I can't wait for more videos in this series.
I'm obviously biased but the history of Death's Shadow is an interesting one.
Great video! Would love to also see: Eldrazi, Dredge, Tron, Zombies, Vampires, Humans, Rebels, Spirits, Burn and even Control.
This is a great idea!
Great idea! I think you should focus on archetypes more! Maybe like a "lantern control's evolution" or "turbo fog evolution" type thing. It's interesting to see how archetypes evolve and change with the times!
Yes! I was sitting on my couch yesterday thinking about how much I wanted a show like this. Please do more?
Have you considered covering things like combo decks or graveyard decks as big overall archetypes or maybe specific combos and specific kinds of graveyard decks like threshold, reanimator, dredge, etc?
This is a great idea to create its own series about. Having played Goblins throughout the years and seeing were I dropped off at should be interesting, if my current build is even on the list. Which should say something that even not watching more than the introduction, am hyping this video and would love to see more when like Drew Armstrong, the Glorious Lobster Emperor put it, that means more Nizzahon videos, which is a Win/Win however you look at it.
Make it one more comment that's totally stoked for this series. Started playing way back in revised, with big gaps away from the game, so I adore this sort of history of the game.
Whatever you find interesting, keep it coming, I'll watch all of em.
I love it, can't wait for the 30 minute long video on Storm
Omg yes
This series' idea is so good that, when it popped up in my notifications I thought it was a follow-up to an older video, and not a brand new series. This format fits quite well into the purposes of this channel, and makes a powerful contribution to the informative aspect of the MTG Top 10s. I hope to see more, especially with my favorites tribes (wizards, hydras, soldiers and giants)
dont you ever stop making videos, ill watch any avalance of ads thrown on them to support you, we love you Nizzahon, happy 6th anniversary
Yes, please do many many more. I have never played in the competitive scene and started playing back in 2017, so this stuff and the top 10's always fascinates me and introduces me to cards I am sometimes unfamiliar with, as well as teaches me a lot about the game I never knew about because I wasn't around then.
This is an AWESOME idea. Can't overstate how excited I am for this series.
This is exactly what I was talking about! A few months ago I commented on talking about decks in Magic’s history as a whole like the history of the B&R. I’m so grateful to see this content!
I read the title as Historic Goblins and almost thought you joined the dark side
I loved the history of banned and restricted list, and I played goblins as my first deck to top/win a locals. So I cannot WAIT for this series.
Yes, more of these. I don't play competitive magic but I do like learning about the history of the game and what was popular/powerful.
I'm really looking forward to more of this series. This first episode was really interesting!
Love it , I've been playing magic for over 15 years but this still has reveling details I've never known , please do more :)
Awesome new series! I'd love to see the history of "you win the game and/or opponent lose the game" decks
I've officially watched all 48 episodes. NEED MORE! Great work Nizz!
Was there ever a doubt we would want more of this? Your content is top notch Nizzahon, I always look forward to seeing you in my notifs and the idea that I will get even more variety content from you is a delight! Please keep it up, stay well, and I hope this comment caught you on a good day sir~
Love the idea. Would like to see necropotence and fires of yavimaya next. Would also like to ask
- I like to see what cards are part of the deck, could you rotate more the specific cards on the video?
- What are the win condition on these decks, like... what are the 2 or 3 cards one has to draw to swing a win?
- Onde created, what happened to the deck after the next rotation of sets? Did it migrated do other category? New cards got in? Which ones?
- Does the deck exists today? Does it have a spiritual sucessor?
Very cool! As someone who doesn't follow competitive magic this is a great way to learn about cards you featured in top10 lists!!
This is quality content.
There are so many decks to talk about, like draw n go, the cereal decks (Trix, etc), saproling pandemonium.
This playlist is exactly what I was looking for. Great work!
I really like this idea for a series. One thing I like to do from time to time for a little blast from the past is get on xmage and play old decks that won high level tournaments in standard throughout the years. So hearing about them in this context is definitely enjoyable for me.
This is awesome! Super helpful and informative breakdown on competitive history. Will be looking forward to every future video like this
I am very excited for this series as I care even more for how the cards in MTG work together rather than just individual snapshots into one cards history
Insert gif of Thor slamming a coffee mug on the ground and shouting for another! Great series idea.
Absolutely loved this new series! Can't wait for more episodes
This was brilliant, I'm excited for more episodes already. Fantastic way to marry your style, your degree and interesting Mtg content. You got my sub, take care
What a cool idea for a new series, really enjoyed this. Looking forward to the next one!
Havent even watched yet because I’m at work, but super excited for this! A great avenue to explore for your channel!
Excellent! I love Goblin Tribal, so this was a big hit for me. I’d love to see more tribal decks (merfolk, rogues, slivers, etc.). A history of colorless decks would also be super interesting.
Loved the video, great concept! I loved your Banned and Restricted History Series, and this seems just as enjoyable!
I love these types of videos! The history of decks is always really interesting.
Great idea! It really enhances your repertoire, and this one brought some great memories from the onslaught block, thanks!
This series will be incredible. I'm really looking forward to seeing your take on the next decks and their permutations through history.
Very cool video series idea! I’ve only been playing for about 2 years so there’s still so much to learn so this series is super cool for seeing cards ive never heard of before
Really like this as a series idea, can't wait for more!
Love the idea of this series! Look forward to seeing more!
Excellent, this is exactly the content I was always hoping you would decide to make. Your top 10s pack in a lot of context for the format, but always leave me wishing for deeper dives on the decks you talk about. I can't wait to see a Storm episode in this series!
Great video. I like this new series, there is so much topics to cover along with tribal based decks too (affinity, D+T, the rock, etc) as they evolve thru the years. Hope this is the first of many.
Just loved the new series!
I'm very excited for the next videos!
Thanks!
Yay! Some love for my little green men! I won my first local tourney in 95 or 96 with them (back then Goblin Shrine was awesome and no one ever used it!).
Thanks for giving us the new series. Hope to see more of the monocolored tribal decks (and subsequently multicolored ones) in the next weeks
loved the video. It's great to see the history of these decks. My cousin's goblin deck is what got me into magic way back around onslaught. hopefully we'll get another set with goblin support after all the elves recently.
Banned and restricted list was an awesome series; I’m excited for this!!!
I learned a lot in this video and I really encourage you to continue. I often hear you talk about dominant decks in your top 10 videos, but I never know what they are or what powers them.
More of these please! Something you will start to note in these videos is how much Onslaught changed Magic; before, sure, there were tribal payoffs, but Onslaught really kicked the concept of tribal decks into high gear. Nobody was running zombies until Onslaught, and then, it was like we couldn't get rid of them! I really like the lesser tribes, the ones that never quite made it, but I'm sure there isn't a lot of room in this series for Vedalken or Minotaurs. Dwarf Tribal was lackluster in Fallen Empires and only recently became viable. My vote for the next video is Spirit tribal, which I think only started with Kamigawa block.
I think this was a very good look into a particular archtype and a good way to look at how mtg evolves over time
Enjoyed the video for the new series! I had a Krenko Commander deck for a long time. Goblins are a lot of fun
I had a casual izzet goblin deck way back when that focused on pinging everything to death. Was such a fun deck.
Intruder alarm, quicksilver dagger, pemmin's aura, sigil of sleep, razorfin Hunter were some of the blue I splashed. Of course, being a casual deck it exploited recruiter and lackey, naturally.
comment before watching this video: i played "goblins" with raging goblin, mogg fanatic, goblin war buggy in a rdw deck.. ball lightning as a finisher, goblin grenades for damage and ofcourse the usual burn package with lightning bolts...
but that was when damage was still going on the stack to make more use out of the mogg fanatics..
gonna love this serie, same as i enjoyed your history of the b/r list.
This is a very interesting idea for a series, I look forward to more of it!
I’d love to see more tribes covered (slivers, elves, merfolk, Fae, etc.). I’d say vampires but I’m not certain the deck has much history to cover just yet (though I could be wrong.). I’d also love to see a history of some deck archetypes. I was thinking Reanimator may be interesting?
I know the algorithm loves top-10 videos, so I really hope this new series works out for you! This kind of thing is more interesting content to me tbh
Love this new video type!!! Hope you keep going with these. Would love a video about how affinity decks and toolbox decks have evolved over the years
great idea, more please. good video series to break up the drafts and top 10s. hyped.
This series is absolutely top notch. Two thumbs up Nizza.
Absolutely love this style of video. One of the hardest things about getting into magic for me was learning the jargon; especially deck names!
I look forward to seeing videos about decks with interesting names like "Cheerios" or "8rack".
Thanks!
I love this! Always appreciate deeper looks into magic's competitive history.
Would love to see merfolk, mud, and cawblade's history.
Nicely done! Can't wait for more! I can see Red Deck Wins, Zoo, Affinity, or Storm decks being talked about in the future, though I'm down for anything.
The theme and card showcase was really good. Keep it up.
Great Video! I love goblin tribal, it was one of the first tribal decks I've put together.
Fantastic new series! Fresh for the channel and different from other MTG content on CZcams.
Great idea! I love this new format, cant wait to see more.
Suggestions: Infect and dredge decks
Really excited to see where this series goes!
This is a great idea and I love watching anything that has to do woth the rich history of magic the gathering. You have so many cool decks to talk about. You can even look at overall arch types such as White Weenie, Sligh/mono red Aggro, Red Deck Wins ect.... UW control, GB The Rock, UB control, GR Ponza, Humans, ect!!!
Loved the new format, can't wait to see you talk about monastery mentor, esper control, grixis control, death & taxed and ponza
Great video, great idea for a series.
The friends that got me into magic were legacy players so i jumped from kitchen table draft common elves to legacy goblins and was like "what the deck is this power level?"
Good stuff king, cool to see the full lists shown
I really liked this Nizza, thank you. Please do more of these kinds of vids.
Love the new format! And you're highlighting my favorite tribe! Muxus is such a powerhouse in historic (doesn't even need to have attacking goblins to get big) makes me wonder if he could catch the ban hammer
Love this concept! Thanks for being a fun history teacher!
Yes really into the new series (also a huge goblin fan so thanks for the first one) love to learn about many more deck histories
I love the video, and I think this series is a great idea for you. Not only does it fit neatly into the kinds of videos you make, I think the addition of a coherent narrative of "these cards came out and made the deck viable in X format, but it also brought back these other older cards, etc." does a lot for the format. I think this is a great idea for you, as someone interested in history, and I'm stoked to see what else you choose to cover in it!
Personally, I think Burn, Storm, and everyone's favorite Tron should come up at some point
Loved it. Please keep doing more!!
I'd like to see a history of Tron sometime in the future!!
Really enjoyed this and looking forward to more. I'd be interested in seeing a somewhat deeper discussion of the decks -- how they fared in their meta at the time, more focus on each card in the deck rather than just the key ones. There's a similar kind of brevity here as with your top 10s but this series seems like a opportunity to take a slightly different approach perhaps. One of the things I sometimes wonder about in the top 10s in the relevance of the "lesser" cards in the decks and I'd be into that kind of analysis here.
Much like the history of the B&R list, I love seeing videos that take us through the entirety of Magic's history, whatever the context. If this series catches on, no doubt you'll do Elves at some point, which I'd love! ^_^
Nice video! This new series will certainly be a success!
As a long term goblin fan, I was expecting to see 8-whack in this video, as well as other honorable mentions like Krenko Mob Boss and Mogg Fanatic.
Thanks for sharing!
a really cool new video format.
i'd love to see more in the future.
Really great video format, love it and please do more!
quite the fun series I'd say :) as someone who never played competitive mtg, it's really interesting to see a whole other side to the game and how it works!
Answering your question, I totally enjoyed it!
As a casual player, this video brought me a lot of interesting information about one of my favorite decks.
