@@loosey5 he said if you trained to the max to the point of being sore you will get lesss training hours than the guy who train at 75% of his max. Because that guy will need less recovery time, use less energy (mental and physical) and therefore will be able to spend more time at the gym. Only train to max once in a while to train your nervous system.

3 years in wrestling and 10 in Jujitsu. What I always used to stop that takedown was use my forearm against their chin. Not as a strike but to turn their face away from me and possibly get the choke as well. I also realized, after awhile, that the sprawl doesn't have to be as exaggerated -- putting my legs back just a little and putting the forearm out was always enough.
This underhook in the video I never did try but it looks interesting.

You both provide great coaching and we benefit from your hard work over your lifetimes dedicated to competitive fighting and self defense. These videos you make get saved and watched over and over again by people that are working on perfecting the techniques. It requires lots of practice drilling and eventually light sparring and then harder sparring and then competition stages to become instinctive and pull these techniques off as cleanly and efficiently "under fire" as you demonstrate them. I have an old brain and old body so it takes me lots of drilling reps to rewire...but it is very satisfying when I achieve progress in the application of any technique. I like the escapes and defenses a lot.

You see a lot of guys in MMA utilizing the techniques he was really doing before anyone else. It's a shame a lot of the newer fans can't recognize the skills he had in his prime because of his record and fighting way past his prime. Good to see Firas giving him his credit.
