      @@brillsmith2207 I did not say he is a genius. I said what I said. One point he got exactly right from my perspective as an Information Systems guy is that the H-1B visa is nothing more than a cheap labor tool along with illegal immigration. Less than a month after the authorization of an additional 85,000 H-1B visas, 400 American citizens and veterans in the UBER
      program and system engineering staff are losing their jobs at the same time UBER requested 299 new visas to add to the visa folks already there. That's 400 more Americans workers and their families betrayed. Put out of a job by a government cheap labor program they will now be fined 10% on their retirement fund withdrawals as they struggle to find other employment. You can see more on this issue from recent WaPo and Mercury News articles. A grand swap of these visas for a "Pathway to Citizenship" is what is meant by "comprehensive immigration reform", what SB.744 did, and would be an extinction event for American citizens in Technology .I am grateful to Mr. Bannon for speaking the truth on this issue.

      Bannon supports the most corrupt and anti-democratic candidates in the US and in the West. He simply rationalizes his support by claiming that "the people" support them. He is on record saying that Trump does not lie. That makes Bannon a LIAR not a "messenger of the truth." Just because you're easily fooled doesn't mean the rest of us don't see through this master manipulator.

    • @TheBiomuse
      @TheBiomuse Před 4 lety +1

      I think Bannon does love this country and he has correctly identified some real problems.
      But he's making two mistakes: First, believing Trump was the guy to carry his vision out. Trump is a tactical ally but not a strategic one; he's going to do whatever he thinks keeps him in power, and that typically means keeping money happy. Bannon's out of the White House because Trump does not want or care to feel like a constrained adherent to any ideological program. He just doesn't care about that. Also, Trump's use of xenophobia is in direct conflict with Bannon's goals. That stuff has historically never gone hand in hand with prosperity, absent warfare.
      Second, Bannon's vision for America itself has serious difficulties, and they're born of his experience on Wall Street, seeing the absolute ugliest side of expansionist economics. That stuff is ugly and it is unfair. But we're not going to be able to "reclaim" this country and retarget our economy in the way he would want to without very serious pain for the people he thinks he's trying to help. It's difficult enough from the left and downright impossible from the right. Closing off, the way Italy and Hungary have begun to do, means the pie really does shrink and the game becomes closer to zero-sum. They're going to feel it in those nations, and the opportunity costs for everyone there will be huge. Meanwhile, China will be going to Africa; shoring up its influence in Asia, partnering where possible with Russia. Bannon sees this but doesn't seem to follow its implication: isolationists will get smaller and weaker. Iron laws of economics.
      A conservative economist in San Diego did a study about 15 years ago on the difference between cities in the US vs. cities right across the border in Mexico. The big difference explaining their outcomes was: availability of credit. That was the foundational factor from which all the differences in economic outcome flowed. You get abundant credit from expansionism. Don't want expansionism, you don't want prosperity for *anyone.* Warren's over the top, but she's at least pointing her guns in the right direction: intervene to incentivize spreading around of that capital accumulation. I don't know where Bannon thinks he's pointing his. It doesn't hang together, and he won't just spit it out.

    • @chuckcribbs3398
      @chuckcribbs3398 Před 4 lety +1

      TheBiomuse As soon as you mentioned Warren I tuned this out. Trump has done more for our country in three years, with his hands tied, than any other president. Funny how we became a world power without having to sell to China. We don’t need China. If we take our manufacturing out they collapse.

    • @TheBiomuse
      @TheBiomuse Před 4 lety

      @@chuckcribbs3398 Wow you sure missed my point, which wasn't to advocate for Warren. Don't let yourself get triggered by magic words. My point is that Bannon's ideas aren't that different from hers. They both want to tax high incomes (which Bannon proposed for incomes over $5M - lower than Warren's number - but couldn't get Trump to sign onto) because they both want to see more economic benefits going to the working class. In fact they *both* appear to want that more than Trump does. Trump lied to Bannon about his goals. When Bannon pushed on him, he got trashed ("I fired Sloppy Steve"). That's because Bannon actually believes what he's saying, while Trump doesn't actually give a crap. And somehow Bannon still clings to hope, and tries to stay relevant by sucking up to him. That's a pattern with Trump. It should tell you something.
      Funny how we didn't need consumer electronics, like we're using right now, to become a world power either. So what? Times have changed, and so has China. No one sees a quick resolution to Trump's trade war because there isn't one coming. Bannon's wrong when he trashes Democrats on this: the whole point of Obama's TPP was to have bargaining power over China, which would have made everything that Trump's now trying to do easier. But he flushed it, because he's weirdly obsessed with Obama. I read about the Dem debate last night and half of what they talked about was China. In other words, it's not a Trump position that China's a problem: it is and has been an American position. Doesn't seem to me that Trump's going about it in the strongest way, just in the most theatrical way. Against somebody like Xi, that's backwards.

I realize that many in the political sphere imagine “nationalist/ism” is a dirty word, but they seem to be ignorant of the dichotomy of nationalism Vs Globalism. The media has many heads, many “left” media outlets smear Bernie in favor of corporatist Dems, many “right” wing media outlets smear Bannon in defense of corporatism and the status quo.
      @Denise
      You hit the nail on the head. Low minded partisan morons play make believe that the problem is simply the other political party, Bannon accurately points out how the republicans are actualky worse than Dems on many issues, a main one being the sort of corporatism of the political right which proactively works not just against republican voters but the workers of America at large.
      I think Bannon does see the myriad ways which the system, if left unchecked, will blow up in the face of the elites. In a similar way that the far lefts anti-white bigotry fuels the white identiatians and helps justify their activism and gain supporters.
      The day may come that the American workers notice that the leaders of this country are playing a different game than ours, they are the hand the skims the cream off the top while we fight for what’s left over. That day by day the political class in tandem with the donor class are reshaping the world to work solely on their behalf.
      Long comment short, this could very well reach a fever pitch where common people pick up arms and revolt against the types who hold the gates open and keep America as being the #1 country that takes in more legal immigrants than any other, even though the majority of Americans are against mass immigration on this scale. The people who’s job it is to work directly against the American Dream, because they can make a buck.

Unfortunately, labels like that work since most casual "The View" or ABC News viewers care enough to do their own basic research.
      It's been said before, but before anyone's agenda/policies can be tested, the old guard mainstream media has to finally collapse. I wish more people understood that this is what actual journalism is. Not prodding or challenging the interviewee - just asking "what happened" and "what were you thinking". Just getting the story, from their perspective, unfiltered. Then the viewer/reader makes up their own mind. All of these Frontline interviews from the past couple years are so important.
