Used to promotion now . And I also do more and more lidar scanning but with the iPad Pro 12.9 it’s a pain this is why it’s love to have an iPad mini for 3d scanning and AR experiences . But tbh I wish Apple would release a larger iPhone with pencil support

I could use the iPad Pro as my primary/only device if Apple would allow for true non-WebKit desktop browsers to be installed. There are a couple of holdout sites that I use for work daily that cannot be accessed via an iPad Pro - or with Safari on a Mac. Any Chrome based browser works, but not iPadOS, iOS, or macOS WebKit or Safari works. Otherwise, I’d be good to go.
I want Apple vision pro. But so much $$$$$$$😢

My only iPad is the mini 6 and I’m a content creator on the Mac. The iPad is just for stuff like following a recipe, content consumption, travel. And my mom has the base iPad because she’s 70 and doesn’t need a single bell or whistle. I would think that’s actually quite common and that even the folks buying the airs and pros are like the majority of truck owners who just use it for basic daily driving.
I’m using my mini4 for music production and tracking guitar. Fully capable.

Can attest. Myself I jumped into an iPad Pro 2018 11'" and then M1 12.9" and really did nothing except media consumption and watching tutorials of all sorts.
Favorite afternoons and weekends device, but incredibly overkill.
Just recently (as in, 3 months ago) I started learning SwiftUI (with Playgrounds, it's crazy capable for learning actually) and 3D Sculpting with Nomad Sculpt.
Could have totally saved those 6 years on high end gadgets and just jump into the M2 (or soon M3) if I were not in said truck owner mindset
New iPads in a couple months - just before WWDC. Devs need a head start on updating apps for iPadOS and VisionOS in parallel.
Most people use their iPad only for consumption such as reading and like to wield a super light and non-cumbersome device with one hand as if it were a Kindle - hence, iPad Mini. And yeah, a huge 10-13” display in bed is a bit unwieldy. The likelihood of taking a large iPad on the go is low relative to a mini.
I bought my mom an iPad mini. She likes it smaller for small hands and it’s more portable and fits in her purse
11:19 those Microsoft laptop benchmarks look a bit misleading, will have to wait for the proper release, but that Snapdragon is supposed to have 12 performance core while a MacBook Air only has 4 performance core and 4 efficiency core (which in practice could amount to a single one more equivalent performance one, but that's not their use case, it would be a waste to use it as such).
So, while having 3 times more performance cores it only achieves 20% more in multi-core benchmarks.
Single core benchmarks and GPU benchmarks are still a question mark to my knowledge.
But who knows, likely they have something on their hands to be coming in hot with said statements.
the reason the ipad can’t replace the Mac isn’t it can’t be the hub of your digital life. My macbook pro lets me sync all my photos, music, & books to my iphone in a few seconds. I can partition the hard drive. I can have multiple sources of audio playing. The ipad is just a big iphone & if apple was serious about it they need to make it more of a PC. If the ipad was a 11” version of the macbook air (not running macos but you get the idea) there wouldn’t really be much of a competition.
I have to agree. I love my MacBook Pro and my Apple Air2 is 12 years old and it's almost done. I will not be replacing it. Between my MacBook Pro and my Apple iPhone I don't need anything else. All the rest of it is just stuff I don't need.

I used the original iPad mini for my home theater remote. It is really old and finally died. I will probably get a new one to replace it when they come out. I am using my iPad Pro in the meantime. It is a bit annoying when I forget to bring it in when I go to watch something in my theater. I know it is a first world problem but it is what it is. I do think the smaller screen has some niche use cases such as tablets for POS systems. Like your videos.
All REGULAR Apple devices should in my opinion renamed to SE entry level devices, Air as midrange and Pro top tier devices. SE brand is great for all new entry to Apple as I did 3 years ago and now I am looking to get an upper tier devices with this refresh.

My grand-daughter's private High School requires each Freshman provide their own iPad. No other tablets/lap tops are allowed. I believe most will be getting the iPad Airs.
