Big Apple fan and investor but Apple really dropped the ball with Siri! I would have bought a lot more Apple HomePod products if Siri had worked better but had to go with Amazon Alexa because it worked so much better at the time.
And really Amazon's not much better to me, BUT they are going heavy into Anthropic, they at least know personal AI is the future hook. Truly personal AI is going to be the battleground, you build the best you get the users. So yeah I'm invested in Apple and concerned when they spent billions on a car and poor Siri was left to die, they had the lead. WWDC is going to be the most important event ever, I'm not looking for miracles, just a direction. If I hear Siri pro, and they just iterate on Siri and don't start a completely new foundation or have a NEW roadmap to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic I will be more concerned. Personal AI is the future, you can even forget the profits on devices, hooking people into an AI ecosystem they don't want to leave will be big. Services will be constant, yearly, event driven, and going to be $$$$$, people will become addicted to it.
Hopefully Siri can understand more than one language simultaneously with the update.
Why would you want to give free reign to an AI to buy stuff on Amazon? I would like it to have the capability to understand context and look for sales, compare prices and features. That would be awesome.
I wonder if Siri Pro will be exclusive to iPhone 16. That would prompt me to upgrade, not another marginally fast phone with a marginally better camera.

An AI should not conduct any analysis unless it being specifically asked to do so. Letting it loose is a serious problem with privacy.
Did the executives at Humane really not know that their product was not ready for prime time and what did they expect reviewers would say? If they didn’t know that their product couldn’t deliver on its promise at the time of release, I have serious questions about the judgment of people in charge of this product’s development and I have even more questions about the decision to release it anyway, especially at the price point of $700. +$24/month for a product that can’t do even a fraction of what it is touted to be able to do, no not for me, glad I didn’t fall for the hype. People are really not yet ready to get rid of their screens just yet, perhaps in the distant future and if they can get their product to deliver, maybe then.

I don't understand how these videos are setting off devices, is the voice recognition as bad as Siri itself? I don't use an iPhone but the word Google gets used in general conversation and likely videoes way more than Siri and I've not seen any comments in videos or in the real world similar. What am I missing?

Hey guys how about a podcast "Should Apple dump the name Siri?" curious maybe I'm the only one that wants them to go with a new branding for the entire platform, Siri kinda has bad stigma attached to it and it doesn't really help them marketing wise with Wall Street, AppleAI name would seem like a new start. Also the thought that in the future we will talk to our personal AI more and more and have a closer relationship with it, why shouldn't we be able to name our own AI? Of course that's not happening now, but why keep the name Siri as a brand if it's just going away in the future? Yeah, as investor and fan of Apple, this is so frustrating to see, I'm hopeful.
Love this topic. I wish Apple would be consistent with their using Siri when locked feature. Sometimes it works and sometimes it says I must unlock my phone first. If they do not fix this, then a true hands-free assistant is pointless.
Google have lost the plot. They have messed up google assistant and Gemini. Hopefully apple will learn.
I only use Siri to turn on scenes in my smart home it’s useless at anything else Google assistant is far smarter than
hopefully i phone 17 will usher in apple AI features for the potential capabilities of their future smartphones. so i'll skip # 16 for now to consider an upgrade from what is shown at wwdc keynote 2024 presentation in june.

And this right here is just one reason why Siri has to go, the name is cringe now, call it AppleAI with the ability to name it what we want AND more importantly why is it setting off so many devices, the I first set up Siri it was impressive at recognizing just my voice, still is "sometimes" but seems to get worse. At home it doesn't seem to understand which device to work on, bad at choosing just one device, it often answers on multiple devices, some clear across the room when I'm right in front of my Mac typing on it!

Siri is criminally bad. I can’t believe Apple lets this dumpster fire 🔥 keep going. How can they charge us so much money for a phone 📱 that is so bad.
It boggles the mind when Jobs had this idea back in the 70's of a personal secretary and the devices would disappear into the background. His whole life was based on what's about to happen and Apple was pretty much first to market and just let it go. How much different is Siri now than when it launched? not much, that was 12 years ago!!! but Apple has a kick a** secret car!
Siri Pro? I certainly hope not, dump the name Siri, call it AppleAI, yes it will still be Siri for now, you can call it Siri but the entire AI system should be called AppleAI that works across all devices. Then in the future give us the ability to name our AI whatever we want as it will become very personal for each user. It should be that the AI will only respond to your voice, no way the future remains everyone saying Siri....oh my gosh, can you imagine if we start using it as a personal AI in public? Everyone saying Siri, that alone is a future security nightmare, Hey Siri send a text to my boss, tell him I quit! tell him he's a gasbag...3 people in the room lose their job..LOL. No Siri is over. I see no possible way for the current form to continue. So custom names PLUS serious ability to understand just my me, by way of voice and using proximity in voice tone, location of requests IE out as opposed to being home, when out it could use AI to figure how your voice sounds at the range your in, whereas at home it would be me open to greater distances.
Our AI should over time learn things about us, only do things for us, especially if it's on device. Apple is not going to build into the main AI everything, it doesn't need to. So my AI will know the about certain pop culture or things I like and train it on, like my complete layout of my home, it will know all my work, it will know what sports just I like, my kids, my finances. All that will be stored on device, some of it will be cloud based but still secure and private. This better be the foundation, otherwise I know OpenAI is working on this, as are others.
I will pretty bummed if I have to keep calling it Siri, honestly I'm so tired of Siri the name alone is getting annoying. Think about those few families with kids or family members named Siri must go crazy. If we are going to be talking to AI more and more I see no way it can continue as just Siri, each family member having named it's on AI is the only way forward, so Apple thinking ahead should dump the name now. AppleAI being introduced sounds like something new, something Investors want too.

Yeah, Why would I want a pro version of something that doesn't work..LOL the name Siri is pretty much damaged beyond repair. Maybe just AppleAI as a platform and let us name our own personal assistant.
