I think I worded it wrong. I don't expect you to lower your standard on the boat. There's a clear gap between you and most of the other people converting small boats. I think over 90 percent of people who will convert a John boat will probably only do it once and with the weekend warrior tools and skills that most of us have. I just think it'd be interesting seeing how someone with your skill set would attack it in an average joes garage. Plus showing people they could do it with what they have would probably jump your subscribers substantially. Your work can be intimidating for some people to try if their only gonna do it once. Thanx for spreading knowledge all the same and look forward to your future projects.

Sweet setup! Pump out is cool, but no pump in? What if you use a flowright nossel for the intake into the pump, so when you pull the nossel out the water pumps in from another hose on a quick connect that you throw overboard? This would also help you streamline the pump right against the cooler. Just a thought.

When the pump quits working cause it’s worn out n you used the epoxy it’s going to make it hard to replace the pump and getting it out may damage the ice chest cooler That’s why I use a bilge pump in mine no leaks no problem to replace pumps and works just as good.

I admire the creativity you incorporated into this build and the time you took to shoot the video. But if we're going to keep it "real" for everyone watching, this set-up IF mounted to a personal watercraft or small boat won't work as needed; nothing to do with the build itself, but all the movement and sloshing stresses out the bait fish and within ONE hour, they'll all be either dead or taking their last breaths as they float inactive at the surface of the cooler waterline.

I've made several bait tanks from coolers. The one that I use most is one I made from a 10-gallon Igloo water cooler. It takes up less foot space, and the round sides keep the bait from red-nosing. A screened fresh air intake above the waterline would help that setup by allowing fresh air to enter the bait tank and reduce ammonia buildup in the tank. I'm not trying to hijack your video. I'm just trying to give some helpful suggestions.

I skipped ahead 2min and I saw that ice chest. No one buy that ice chest! Especially for this application. The handles aren't attached to the outer mold of the chest, instead it's molded to the inner layer with only an over lap of about 3/8-1/2". So when the sun constantly hits that part where the handles are molded in, along with the added weight of it being full the handles will break right off. Do yourself a favor and get the ice chest with replaceable handles.
