- Hi, welcome back to the channel and welcome back to another video.
In this video we get a job done one the sidewalk. We swap from a Fletcher Exhaust System to a classic RC40 set up.
This is a really simple job to do and only took me 45 mins to swap.
For me it was a personal choice to swap but I am glad its done and I am happy with the results.

Nice to see the Sidewalk again, beautiful car, really smart. I've learned not to justify choices, I like my choice and thats all that counts to me, we're all different.
I did exactly the same on my Cooper. When I bought it there was a Fletcher fitted. As you say, beautifully made but also very heavy and too noisy for me. I also found that it grounded on my drive (and fell off a the hangers a couple of times!) I swapped for an RC40 and am really pleased with it - a good balance between breathing and noise.
chris penn Yes I literally agree with all those comments it’s the reasons for my change and I am really happy with that look and sound of it. Completely works. Glad I am not the only one 👍

@@SimpsonsClassics if you've any tips for getting the maniflow exhaust manifold on a 998 I'm all ears. Struggling squeezing it down the back of the engine atm. Thinking there must be a trick lol
@@elliotrawstrone6137 no worries have you loosened off the engine steadies?
@@SimpsonsClassics not yet, is that essential? Should I have enough space once I've done that and rocked the engine slightly?
@@elliotrawstrone6137 yes definitely would get the carb or inlet manifold out the way and undo the engine steady that way you can move the engine forward definitely helps buddy 👍

copcutt2009 haha no worries dude I will get it polished up like I said there is a few marks on it but the welding on that exhaust is like porn. I have put all the mounts in a little bag for you to.

I do prefer the rc40 .. rear silencer looks really close to the subframe ...
Chris Beck Yeah it’s much better I think. I you can get your fingers round the exhaust between the subframe so it’s all good after a good run it doesn’t knock or anything so job done 👍
Ive always wondered.....is there more engine vibration with this rigid exhaust mounting ?
I'm currently using the rigid style but always wondered if the injection exhaust set up might explain its smoothness.
No it’s not bad at all mounted like this. this is the original way they got mounted. Nice and smooth. Cheers for watching
Nothing worse than exhaust drone on the freeway. Quiet cars always seem to go better too if you ask me. No idea why, they just seem to.

Hows the rc40 now you’ve driven it? Made much difference?
Yes loads it sounds much better to drive and has a nice sound to it still it’s the subtle look I love as well.
