This was a fun video - thank you! Hope you have a great time at the Philly Pen Show. I am envious. About seeing nib specialists, I have always brought clean pens. I think they prefer to use their own inks to dip test as they work, for consistency, since they know how their ink of choice will behave. At least that's my understanding.

Lovely and illuminating, as always. :) I’m also going to my first pen show next year (CA) so I’ll follow your Philly experience closely. I have so many questions already, lol. You’ll want to take clean pens to be worked on. Whoever works on the pens will dip them to test as they grind the nibs.

I highly recommend the nib smith Gena Salorino of Custom Nib Studio. I actually just received 3 pens back with her nib grinds. I ordered a Perspective grind, a reverse architect grind, and another Journaler grind. I have had two other pens “smooth and tuned” in person at the St. Louis Pen Show by Gena. She is a wonderful soul and works so hard to get your pens perfect! She is backlogged at the moment, so if you can get an appointment in person at the show… do it! You won’t regret it, I promise.
I ordered a Trusco box myself, after seeing Vanessa (Pen Gangsta) recommended them! I keep all my inks inside it and I was able to snag the most gorgeous emerald green color. They’re made so well! I’m in love. I especially like that on mine I can put a little child safe lock carabiner so my 3 year old cannot get into my inks and cause a commotion 😂

Yes they do, but I rarely buy samples. I’ve always dived in and just purchased bottles. 🫠 I do buy from them, just not nearly as often as the others.

Hi how long do you let them sit in the cleaner? And what pen show are you going to.
Philadelphia Pennsylvania Show ☺️ the cleaner has a couple of different time settings and it depends on how dirty they are. I believe I did 280 seconds.
