It’s probably because iKON wasn't disbanded like 2ne1 and they made the decision not to renew. And if I remember correctly, iKON’s current CEO (who is an ex-YG artist) said that he had meetings with YG about letting iKON buy their trademarks

As females they were expected to just shut up and take it and there would have been pushback if they insisted. The Korean courts have started interpreting the rules around trademarks differently in recent years and the artists are getting more rights than they had at the time of 2NE1’s disbandment.
iKon wasnt disbanded group and ex yg artist and current CEO for iKon set up a meeting to discuss the potential of buying out the name because 2ne1 is disbanded they have no rights what so ever to get the name back unless he was willing to sell it to some random lot of people betting for the name and they went in blind and snatched it from him.
iKON probably also own their songs since they are mostly self-produced (they write their songs) unlike 2NE1 who have people writing their songs so YG probably has lesser grip on iKON than 2NE1.

The way they treated there artists is despicable and unacceptable. BLACKPINK didn't want to stay signed to yg but they stayed because of they love for the fans and the group. 2NEI was just dropped disbanded out of nowhere of no notification which was crazy. we all know that 2ne1 coming back is all about the cash, hyun suk saw an opportunity to use 2ne1 again, he knew that doing it will make him a lot of cash, but since each 2ne1 member is already successful doing solo, maybe money doesn't matter to the queens, they just want to make a comeback as 2ne1 again. It’s probably because iKON wasn't disbanded like 2ne1 and they made the decision not to renew. And if I remember correctly, iKON’s current CEO (who is an ex-YG artist) said that he had meetings with YG about letting iKON buy their trademarks

As females they were expected to just shut up and take it and there would have been pushback if they insisted. The Korean courts have started interpreting the rules around trademarks differently in recent years and the artists are getting more rights than they had at the time of 2NE1’s disbandment.
iKon wasnt disbanded group and ex yg artist and current CEO for iKon set up a meeting to discuss the potential of buying out the name because 2ne1 is disbanded they have no rights what so ever to get the name back unless he was willing to sell it to some random lot of people betting for the name and they went in blind and snatched it from him.
iKON probably also own their songs since they are mostly self-produced (they write their songs) unlike 2NE1 who have people writing their songs so YG probably has lesser grip on iKON than 2NE1.

The way they treated there artists is despicable and unacceptable. YG tossed the Queens aside for princess.. now the Queens are back to save the company. To this day they have timeless music and 15 years on are dominant in their influence on kpop for three generations and literally their baby sister group is moulded FROM THE QUEENS.
Tbh i like CL solo songs alot. It not the traditional kpoppy style most groups do. They never really jumped on the traditional kpop style hence they were so different and their music went global back in second gen.
Idk if I misunderstood but Who said that they resigned with YG though? Just like how Black Pink will still promote as a group under YG but are doing their own thing independently, I'm sure 2NE1 is doing the same thing. I just hope they're treated better this time around while they're working with YG.
They are the same with blackpink. They still under contract as a group but each of them have all terminated contracts. But for me,i think they just doin it for the fans and to commemorate their 15th anniversary nothing else.
If you observe recently YG was at high risk of bankrupt nd ig that might be one of the reason why they brought back 2ne1 nd Blackpink

I think we all know that the biggest potential reason is because YG wants to make money off of them. Like.. I stay mad thinking about all the mistreatment 2NE1 had been through under YG. They didn’t deserve that. Honestly, I wanted a public apology from him but that’s just me. I just hope that CL, Minzy, Dara and Bom will benefit from this comeback tour more than YG. Everyone’s so excited to see them perform together again and they deserve the best! 💖
Keep making stuff up about them. Fyi, after 2ne1 disbanded Dara and CL renew their contracts under YG so if YG is really the bad guy you guys making him to be, why the hell do both of them renew their contracts?

CL's first solo EP "In the name of Love" is released by a different label and not YG. Wouldn't be under YG if she actually stayed? Get your facts straight

They brought them back for one reason MONEY And it’s YG’s own fault for not making enough money as they did before because if they backup With GD and supported him on his drug case which he turned out to be innocent all along then GD probably would of re signed with YG and same goes for Blackpink if they promoted them well instead of keeping them in the dungeon and gave them more songs and comebacks then most of the Blackpink members would probably stayed with YG as well.
Same with treasure they need to promote treasure a lot more as well and with 2 winner members being discharged on December they better treat winner well as well and also baby monster but they are still new

As an OG blackjack, I think I speak for everyone when I say we're just ready to spend big cash on our girls - something we couldn't really do as kids lol - irregardless of them being back in YG. 2NE1 is a brand and a trademark, and YG has done nothing but bring them through hell not allowing them to perform their hit songs, so this is an opportunity at least.

For them to comeback to a company that called them names and mistreat them, YG must offer them a big amount of promises (money). But YG is known for breaking promises. Good luck all YG artists.
