I was thinking the same thing honest . I was looking at it like it's got the weird point of the flamberge but the scale and crescent moon part at the top of the blade like a zweihander
Doesnt look like a montante at ALL but more like a zweihänder more detailed a flammenschwert which was mainly used by doppelsöldner during the 16-18 centruy and focused on breaking or binding pikes
The original Switzerland version always was a greatsword. The Germans took the design and reworked it. So we got the Greatsword, the two handed, the Rapier and the side sword version.

Yea he curved the blade causing him to lose edge alignment, you can see how the end curls to reflect that. Seems he got nervous about following through to avoid the ground
