I think the historical argument is way better. Jew were an often prosecuted minority who were excluded from traditinoal trades. Hence, they found their own niches to survive. This survivor mentality, and the fact that finances was one of the few things they could engage in, carries until today.

@NelsonRodriguezOnlin Sticking together whether you like the people you're dealing with or not bc they are your tribe, always, no matter what support each other, take 5 families including your own, focus on 1 of the families at a time & all 5 families focus on that family to start a business & make sure that family successfully creates that business & when this is accomplished, the success of that family business now focuses on the next family until they are successful & repeat processes until all 5 families are up and running successfully. And work extremely smart & hard. This is how it's done.
There is also a lot of "bending" that religion. Remember Jews aren't allowed to work in Saturday except doing stuff at home. But this caused problems for Jews running businesses in Manhattan.
Their solution? Just run a thin wire around the whole island and declare everything inside the wire "home".

So you read an article and concocted a narrative that has nothing to do with reality.
A string around a public area called an "eruv" isnt to make it their "home" but rather to classify it as local shared space, and that's only used so that Jews should be allowed to physically carry stuff on the street on Sabbath, however an Eruv will not permit you to work on Sabbath.
Bro that line does not allow you to conduct business on Saturday! It only allows you to carry things from one's private property to public property by essentially creating Manhattan into one big united "home". Nothing to do with business.

Another problem is catholics and protestants are conditioned to give too much money to the church. Rule of thumb is 10% of earnings. I stopped donating a long time ago and chose to invest in myself. Many people forget that charity begins at home.
