- It's time for a more "OEM+" option for the 1M rear deck spoiler. The CSL trunk is nice but it's not my style. This look is way more my style.

Matt is the type of guy who takes out the M badge of a true M car, when others put the M badge to non M cars 😆
The other trunk was nice enough, but this is way better. Strong work, Matt.
i am absolutely loving this bmw content, like seriously.
MUCH BETTER! Nice job ...looks perfect.
Omg, the Dinan stroker idea is genius. I’m in
God im so happy your part of the 1er fam haha been watching this channel for awhile hoping for this day
Much better Matt. Looks so much cleaner.
Much better looking now! 😍
The 1M is getting the OG treatment. Looks good Matt 🤙
Excited to hear that you're considering the stroker for the S65. I like to think I planted the seed of the idea with the suggestion on m3post because we all like to think we're contributing to the crazy :) Cheers, love the BMW content.
Yep...the stock deck lid with that lip spoiler look much better. Can't wait to see with the new wheels...love these cars.
Looks great! Can't wait to see what else you have in mind for the build👍🏽
This thing is going to be sick when I'm done with it!
@@ObsessedGarage can't wait to see it! You're making my e92 m3 look meh lol
Love the idea of the stroker. I would love to do the same thing, so love what you are doing with the e92 Matt.
Jp
The fishing wire works really well with some silicone spray as well. It practically eliminates friction allowing the wire to cut easier and cooler.
Good job man. Will try that tape trick next time I stick something 😎👍🏼
your videos are so soothing to watch
Thanks man.
Haha, "to avoid the douchiness"...the Bob Ross of the autoworld could never be a douche. #toolegit
1M looks insane, not a fan of removing the M badge, but hey, doesn't look bad either. Spoiler looks clean, Great stuff man.
That ///M badge is(was) beautiful.
Looks great man!
Entering the membership seems a good way , then you always have the membership and the entry is a bonus.
Best video in real time explanation 👌
I love the raffle idea!
Looks great !!!!
I always find heating up the left over 3m tape with a heat gun really helps remove it much quicker
Looks much better!
the black line tails will look great against the valencia! great job so far 😬👍
Goof Off works incredibly well on all type of adhesives. Will NOT harm the clear coat.
I will keep it as it is..... Changes everything after a few weeks.
Great Video!
I had installed a lip spoiler on my car a few days ago but it seems that a small portion did not stick properly. How do I handle that?
Matt, 3M makes auto adhesive tape remover, spray it on it melts then wipe it off
Looks much better now
What a beautiful car.
Much better! I also prefer that look over CSL on 1 series
1M is on point!👌
I also removed the M badge on my 1M two years ago, it is back on now and +5whp.
diffuser looks good with the spoiler
hi Matt. looks great . i want one for my e92 m3 . where is the best place to get one . thanks
Ok, I am looking to get one of these, but really worried about the double-sided tape as the medium to adhere it to the trunk. Have you taken the vehicle through a car wash? Has anyone used leaned/rested against the spoiler? Just old school when we actually drilled and made sure the part was not going to fall off now or down the road?
Rear diffuser looks good in my opinion, aggressive but not over the top.
I'm interessed to see what you are doing with your 1m, I have a similar 1m nd I'm also looking to slightly modifiy mine as well.
The great thing about this mod is it is just a few hundred bucks. Looks good.
Is that the original bmw Carbon spoiler? And do you have the link?
Beautiful, looks so clean. I have a 123d with the same lip. New sub, keep up the amazing work!
Thanks Eddie!
Does the spoiler stick out futher than the bumper?
I’d buy some OG gear for a raffle. Would be by far the coolest platform raffled on CZcams. Dinan plan would be sweet. Always good tips in the video.
The 1M will be worth a lot more over time than the M3. But that V8 in the M3 is just so nice to drive.
Hurry up and finish it Matt! I already cleared a spot in my garage for this car. 😬
That's allot of work to go back to a stock trunk, but i guess whatever makes you happy. The lip is nice, but then again the CF trunk with the lip was nice. That car looks nice no matter how you slice it I guess.
damn thats clean
Dont forget the ear protection, love the new look of it.
I promise, these aren't as loud as it seems.
I use a clay bar to remove the badge adhesive
Nice addition to the truck lid.
What is the dB level of the air polishers? Should you be wearing ear protection?
Another great instalment in the building of the 1M.
Staying tuned for more...
No, they aren't super loud. It is more pronounce since the mic is on my collar.
Hey Matt, love watching your videos. Have you ever considered making OG plate frames for EU license plates? Obviously they are much longer than the US ones.
Yes, it's on the list.
Love the CF spoiler, but I feel it comes off the rear of the car too far compared to the "kick" up. I have an F30 as a daily and ended up going w/ a Turner Motorsports "High Kick" CF spoiler for this reason. Looks good either way.
I vote for the stroker :D
Matts the boss and I like how he does whatever the f he wants but personally I liked the other boot better 😂🙆🏼♂️
what about a 6mm clear Perspex box held together with 20x20mm aluminium angle to in case your air compressor. would cut the noise down heaps for your videos, maybe even put sound deadening foam or sponge on the back wall of it. Would make a great project.= and would literally show case you air compressor.
Matty is paint scratches worst nightmare. Lol
Much better IMO.
Everytime I watch your videos I feel like I should be cleaning my cars. This is my excuse for installing a tv in my garage
Please make an EU version of the OG plate holder
~21:40 that’s how I talk about my 2002 Honda Odyssey lmao
iso wipes also work well for debadging , cant get hot either
Is that a special 3m tape or just a basic kind I can get at depot? I need to reinstall my spoiler on f80
It's 3m Precision.
Sick mod
The secret to that tape removal is heat Matt. Soak it in "goo gone" and heat it up.
Does Steve offer at Carbahn all the services he did at Dinan, or would that kit remain the ip of Dinan, I wonder how that works. Re lip, I like the complete wingless look - took it off my f80 zcp, just looks cleaner imo
Steve still owns the stroker IP. I'll discuss it more when I tour the new Dinan facility next month.
Sweet
Heating the glue up first will help a lot in getting it off easier.
Yeah, I need a darn heat gun.
Matt, where did you get that spoiler? Fitment looks great im looking to get one!
It's OE BMW.
You should put the M badge on the GT3 for maximal head sploding effect. Seriously though I’m considering removing the chrome Giulia from my QV. It’s the only chrome on the car except for the QV logos on the fenders, but I’m not removing the hand-made cloisonné clovers lol
That's genius I'm doing that for sure.
You should try the 3M compound 06085, polish 06064 and their corresponding pads, they already perfected the auto paint industry.
In 1975.
Steve Dinan is no longer associated with Dinan. He sold the company about 3 years ago. Steve started a new company Steve Dinan Autotech.
Dinan Engineering has moved from California to Opelika, Alabama into the APR Tuning facilities.
Just purchased an OG license plate frame. Where did you get the black 5mm machine screws to mount the plate? Having a heck of a time finding black ones...
I figured out what size my car needed. Then I bought some black oxide screws on Amazon. Finally, I spray painted them black.
Thanks - that helps. My frame is going on a bmw as well - most take a 5mm - which appears to be different then most other brands. Just going to paint some as well then.

Perfect...Thanks for the link Matt!
Does look better👍
No shot I’m doing that much cleaning before install. That seemed excessive but it was probably necessary
Stock trunk looks much better!!
That spoiler is never coming off with that amount of tape haha.
i can understand the "obsessed" now lol
Like the changes you are making. I think you are right you probably would have been better buying un unmolested car and start from scratch
Jp
thoughts on the gt500? and will we be seeing one soon :)
I might get one.
OnEighty in New york will work them headlights... they are bavgrup authorized installers...
I'm driving my 2002 up to the performance center Friday, I will be sure to inform them of your ///M badge removal. They are going to be highly upset.
Looks great.. when is the exit interview? Lol
Ha, ha... Probably won't be long.
i would definitely keep the E92. I had mine for 220,000 miles until it got totaled from a goofy slamming into me.
phrozen06 did u end up changing the rod bearings or throttle actuators and how was the overall reliability. I own a 2016 bmw 340i and want a e92 m3.
Where do you get your OG plate frames?
Camisasca
STROKER!!!!!!!!!!
Get plastic razorblades for that adhesive
BMW's M division just called. They are PISSED about the M removal :P
Nice videos mate. But do you have fun with your cars or you just polish them and look them in the garage?
makos asimakis he enjoys every single one of them. He’s just in a build phase right now with both cars. Enjoy the build. This is all super epic.
@@rjd592 i am waiting for his own answer
That's a stupid question.
@@ObsessedGarage no it is not ...obviously you are this kind of guy who keep his car clean and is afraid to push it to the limit or even have some fun in the track ! bmw cars is all about passion and sport driving experience. i am saying all this cause i am a bmw owner and i enjoy my car every time i drive it !
Better to take M badges off. Than putting M badges on.
It’s so painful to watch but those eraser wheels do work lol
i did the same wing on my 135, took me all of 5 minute with a eraser wheel
Have you considered the painted IND rear emblem? Perhaps in black to match the competition wheels you're thinking about powdercoating?
PS - You're making me want to buy a raffle ticket today!
I'm going to have the standard BMW colored center caps, so I was thinking I'd keep it the same.
Boring video. Nothing went wrong. What's obsessed garage coming to ...
Dialed in series coming soon?
Yep
Think I prefer it with the m badge. Looks too plain without imo 😉
Previously, you've mentioned you were anti-raffles, etc. b/c of XYZ lol - inadvertently throwing shade at Adam LZ. Funny.
I don't like the fact that we have to call it a "giveaway" legally. There is nothing free about it.
@@ObsessedGarage Understood, sir. If you don't mind being slightly transparent, the cost incurred to the winner would simply be the cost of the raffle (however the amount is) and the tax for the claim, is that correct to say?
Omg!! The squeak! 😖
