Awesome! I literally did this exact same thing on my 228i this afternoon. My fingers are hurting as I'm typing this, but the end result was well worth it. My dental floss count was 4! and wd40 helped tremendously removing the old adhesive.
@@Shundel A question I had a 240 convertible the spoiler from BMW was around $ 650 it was a little off I traded it the other day kept the spoiler ,do you know buy chance if it will fit a M2 I go to a racetrack in Ga there are alot of M2 thank you if you could give me an answer .
Great video. I sold my 2022 Supra and then wanted another but the mark up on the 2024 Supra is ridiculous. So I researched and bought a 2024 M240i x-drive. What an absolute bargain. 2024 Supra is $81k out the door. Got the BMW for $61 and love it. What a great car. Has more tech than the Supra and looks beautiful. I want to go with the bigger spoiler so thank you for the video 👍👍
Great video. I'm loving all the subtle cosmetic upgrades your doing. Just adds to the already subtle good looks of the 2 series. I'm liking this 'low end' model (if you can even call it that, LOL) more and more over the higher end ones.
I absolutely agree with you on the subtlety of this car. It's such a sleeper on the road until you put your foot down. And I hope to keep it that way with these small cosmetic changes. Always nice to hear your feedback, Stephen!
The 2 series is sick, I really want to get one in my opinion it is a much updated e46 but that is my opinion currently I am rocking a 2000 323i and I love it aswell
Is a 2 series expensive to maintain ? I don’t get the differences between the series. I know they just get bigger lol. And I’m familiar with the different models. I looked at a 1 series once & the guy said the 2 series are one of the most expensive to maintain. Which made me sad because I love them. But I don’t know the truth behind that. I know the 6 & 7 series are expensive to maintain. That’s obvious. I’d like a nice 2 series coupe. And they look good in blue. 3 series are too common. And I’d really only go for a 335D. But those are pretty rare.
Being my first BMW and still within the 4 year warranty/maintenance period.. I couldn't tell you! Hopefully someone else who has had the car longer than me can chime in. I agree though that most of the cars BMW makes nowadays are getting bigger by each generation and series. Luckily, the M235i/40i and M2 are still completely fun and tossable cars.
Is that the 1/2" wide 3M tape? I have the RW Carbon spoiler on the way for my M240i, but it doesn't come with tape. I found a 1/2" x 15 ft roll at Wal Mart that looks like it should lay down three strips and do the trick.
Thanks! It's all done. Ended up with a major blister on my finger from peeling off the OEM tape (even with a heat gun). Whole project took around 2.5 hrs. Picked up the car in April, so maybe my tape was more cured. It looks awesome though.
3M tape came with the spoiler when I ordered it. Other than that, you can pick up extra at almost any hardware store! Mine specifically was from Canadian Tire.

I am watching videos about the M240i and the changes they invent to modify it. My friend, I found this exaggerated ... this spoiler. it got too big. I like the original more. Taste is taste.

Getting the old tape off is a nightmare.
Excellent video, good to see it be so easy to remove the OEM spoiler, especially using WD-40 to remove the leftover adhesive.

I prefer the OEM spoiler as with cars like that less is more I find but I’d prefer it in black as would look a nice contrast

I don't remember the width but it came with the spoiler. I'm sure 3 strips is more than enough. Good luck!

Yup it's the same chassis. Just just coupe. Not the cab version.

Hmm my only guess is that different regions get slightly different variations of the car. All of the ones I have seen locally have the M badges on it!

As far as this install is concerned, no. As far as the motors are concerned, yeah that B58 in the M240 is much more stout.
Yea the g42 body has dif rear so it needs bmw OEM m performance carbon fiber spoiler which they have but don’t sell it with the US 2022 m240i model

How has the spoiler held up? Have you noticed any bubbles or discoloring of the clear coat?
It's held up as good as the day I installed it. I just checked and there are no cosmetic issues from what I can see!
