Nithyasree Mahadevan is a popular Carnatic musician and film playback singer. She was the disciple and granddaughter of Sangeetha Kalanidhi D K Pattammal. She has performed in almost all major Indian Sabhas and released more than 500 albums. She made her debut as a playback singer in Kannodu Kaanbhathallam song composed by A R Rahman, which won her the TN State Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 1998.
