    Hi and welcome to Pan The Organizer, where you and I work together to help you improve different aspects of your life!
    It's important to clean your dishwasher to get rid of the dirt, odour, mold and mildew that can buildup over time. You should follow these quick steps every 6 months. Your dishwasher will thank you, and you'll have cleaner dishes and no more cloudy glasses!
    Quick new tip, add the vinegar in a measuring cup, and place that on the top rack during the vinegar cycle. As some washing machines perform a "flush" of liquids on startup, if the vinegar is in the bottom it will get flushed right away. So by having it in the measuring cup, it will get dispensed into the wash cycle as the cycle progresses.

    dont dump the vinegar in. Dishwashers usually run the drain pump before starting the cycle. put the vinegar in a cup standing up inside. plus check the manual to see If there's a cycle that goes straight to wash without rinse eg a medium to rapid cycle

      Pan TheOrganizer I was searching how to clean my Bosch dishwasher and there is a lot of stuff, but none rang through like yours. I made a lot of sense because of the chemistry and the lower cost. In between washes I use Lemi Shine but I wanted to clean the inners because we have really hard water here in Escondido. Thank you.! PS. When I start a cycle I notice that it dumps all of the staging water, so I left the cup on top full of vinegar and during the cycle it filled with water and the vinegar slowly distributed. Another there way is to wait until it's filled then dump the vinegar.

But somehow, I clicked on it first. :-) I have a recommendation regarding the toothbrush and baking soda. It would be too harsh for the rubber surfaces to be rushed with dry baking soda. One can make a paste of it with a little water and rub the paste against the rubber with a microfibre/er towel. Then, a wet microfibre/er towel can remove any residues left on the surfaces. I combined your process and mine and it worked great.

      Same here. First thing that happens when my dishwasher starts is it goes through a drain cycle. I use a dry powder product called Lemi-Shine. Leaves a nice citrus smell when done and cleans really well.

      @@PanTheOrganizer 😁 It worked well! I did read online tho that Bosch dishwashers recommend their own descaler and cleaner or Finish brands, and in fact discourage using vinegar because it could eat away at the stainless steel and rubber in the dishwasher. I did a cup of vinegar and equal parts water and it didn't even smell like vinegar afterwards. I think I'll try citric acid next time as it chelates steel rather than eats at it, but it may have its own downsides as well

    I don’t know if someone pointed this out already. But make sure you clean the filter and the screen in the bottom of the dishwasher. I had my dishwasher for two years and did not know I had to do that. When I pulled out the filter and screen it was really gross! Take a look at your instruction manual for your dishwasher and figure out how to clean the filter.

    Some websites say to put the vinegar in an upright container on the top rack, and that has never worked for me. This method worked amazingly well! My dishwasher was absolutely disgusting and it was nearly perfectly clean after doing this (there was still some filmy residue on some parts of the rack)! I’m sure if I clean it more often it will do the trick. Thanks!

    The first thing a dishwasher does when it is activated is run the sump pump to empty any leftover water in the machine.
    So wouldn't this suck out the vinegar ? Shouldn't a person wait until the cycle is running and then add the vinegar to the dishwasher tub with water in it?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 6 lety +13

      You could add the vinegar in a container on the top rack and as the cycle goes through, it will gradually flush the vinegar out and let it do its work.

      Use an old glass bowl/jug and place it standing up on the bottom rack. Some machine have an automatic continue so you could pause & open to empty vinegar in after 1 minute of the normal cycle. Most of his vinegar would go straight down the drain.
