I prayed for four months straight to be given patience and a better discernment in my heart after quitting drinking and starting my steps to quit smoking cigarettes and weed, then I saw this video clip (not this specific one, but this scene) and basically had a panic attack on the spot. Well, now going on three years has passed. I'm completely sober of all of it, clinically diagnosed and medicated in my mental health side of things and regularly seeing a doctor for my physical health where before I constantly ignored my mental and physical health. I earnestly can say that I have such a better understanding of what this scene means, and am admittedly so getting my patience tested ever more each day since. The discernment is up in the air though honestly, it's difficult for me to tell still, but my mind is definitely more clear as it's been letting me see things I would've just habitually ignored before my sobriety and medications, so that helps. In the end though hahaha, you gotta watch it sometimes what you pray for, cause how you receive it will be a grounds for insuring you are remaining open minded and open in perception as well.
1:28 What he told Joan Evan's wife is what I call absolutely true if you believe in THE FATHER and love him, and cherish him in your heart he will answer your prayers, If you prayed to have your family to be closer to each other again & be A family again than A man she never met, Or seen before. Or never knew have A talk & he told her: "If someone payed for their family to be closer to each other does he zap them with fuzzy feelings, Or does he give them to opportunity to love each other again" That's why Joan was confused because that was the exact thing she prayed for.
Every now and then writers just really get it together. This is one of those rare times and one of my favorite scenes in movies. I am curious though how much of this was from Morgan Freeman because I have heard him speak on many occasions and this just simply seems like it was from him and not the writers.

One who understands us, loves us, and wants nothing more than to help us find our own way to happiness. I have a lot of problems with God from the books, but this God I could worship with a full heart.
The lines are amazing. Kudos to the writers
Love this so much. It’s so true. We don’t think about this.
If God ever spoke to me, I'd expect Him to sound like Morgan Freeman. Really, the man is the perfect fit for the role :D.
Praise God even when I don't know what to do with my life or fail to see his purpose for me ...
This... is relevant to me.
Well, I'm an atheist, but if you like to take the message from this clip, it's that god has no purpose for you. God gives you opportunities to have a purpose. It's your choice to take them or not. And I'm sure you made a lot of choices in your life. Take the opportunity.
It’s been 7 years and this only just showed up now? What an amazing scene
If God made you in His image, then you are capable in ways only He can fathom. ❤🙏 Pray, obey, and be fulfilled
This is a nice scene. I’ve been struggling lately and this scene gave me some courage.
Beautiful scene. God knows his plan for Evan is causing friction with his wife so he goes and deals with her to help him out, and manifests some good looking food in the process. :)
That has to be one of the... if not THE most delicious basket of fried fish and French fries ever... God himself created it. Even gave her generous portions!
I love this scene and Morgan freeman did a a marvelous job in this movie as well as "Bruce almighty".
I adore mr. Freeman. Nobody could have played this better.
This scene brings me to tears every time
My god what a beautiful woman....❤❤❤❤❤❤
this is way too damn good of a scene/acting job to come from a movie like this lol
Tears are drop from. My eyes 😊😍
Jesus are everything in my life!
God gives us opportunities to take an opportunity
This scene makes me cry..I love you God..
That's what I liked about this movie, it was a brilliant demonstration of great clean humor with a good message that is not overly-religious.
this is one of those films that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, a rare genre these days
I knew a man like this. He was the doorman at a movie theater in Redlands, California, he'd worked there for decades. Elderly black gentleman, kind to everyone, greeted everyone with a smile like he knew you already, held the door for you, awesome storyteller, too.
And yes, his name was Al.
nice
1:30....that’s the deepest thing I’ve ever herd in my entire life 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 god damn! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
There are so many people who think this was an inferior sequel to Bruce Almighty, but for me, Evan Almighty was the far better film... and this was one of my favorite scenes.
Morgan played it so well that no other person can match him playing god
God! Please give me my refill without anyone seeing! Amen.
I literally cry whenever i watch this scene
Either you drop your jaw watching this or you cry. ❤️ Gods love it’s incomparable.
I’m not even a Christian but I love these films.
This is my favourate part of the movie.
wow. my jaw just dropped. never thought of it like this.
It's a really convenient way to get around the fact that God doesn't exist.
@@tlangdon12 depends on what or who your believe
As a christian, you can talk to God as close as friend, and He always care for you as Father to His children
God is better than any father he’s much more than just a father
What happened to the charm of movies like this from before the 2010s? I do not see many (if any) movies that have really impactful moments like this.
Political correctness
Hollywood isn't about lifting peoples up.
For those who did not watch the movie, earlier in the movie she prayed to God for their family to be closer. Which is why she reacted that way to that line. This movie did have a lot of quotable lines.
Love the nametag on his shirt "Al Mighty" Great scene. Only one actor can play this role in this movie: Morgan Freeman.
1:28
What he told Joan
Evan's wife is what I call absolutely true if you believe in THE FATHER and love him, and cherish him in your heart he will answer your prayers,
If you prayed to have your family to be closer to each other again & be A family again
than A man she never met, Or seen before. Or never knew have A talk & he told her:
"If someone payed for their family to be closer to each other does he zap them with fuzzy feelings,
Or does he give them to opportunity to love each other again"
That's why Joan was confused because that was the exact thing she prayed for.
I always loved the “fishes and loaves(fries)” touch
For those who say if God loves us, why doesn't He come down here to speak to us? But that's exactly why Jesus came in the first place.
God always gave us opportunity
What I liked the most was "I gota run alot of people to serve" ..and no its not about him being black its about him being God.
I’m am not scared to admit that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.
Amen
Every now and then writers just really get it together. This is one of those rare times and one of my favorite scenes in movies. I am curious though how much of this was from Morgan Freeman because I have heard him speak on many occasions and this just simply seems like it was from him and not the writers.
God: ..... If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?
== >> .............. simple but very powerful impact ...... T_T
God was merciful to the people of Noah's day and even gave them the opportunity to join Noah and his family on the Ark...it was their fault that they didn't listen.
Can I cry now? Cuz every time I see god I just wanna hug him
Still brings tears to my eyes every time I see it... God rocks!!! and so does this movie.
The best scene of the movie. I can watch this non stop.
I myself am an atheist, but I believe in the good in people and of humanity. I love movies like this because they promote love and patience and kindness....all of which the world is sorely missing on the whole.
Basically what God is saying is that nothing is given for free, even if you truly deserved it. You got the power to do it and that’s the greatest strength that each and every one of us have is to be patient, courageous and the opportunity to love one another.
I just realized God gave her FISH and CHIPS!! Like the story when Jesus fed everyone fish and bread from one basket and there was somehow enough for everyone. I'm not even christian but I love the little details in this movie
Thank god ..God ❤
Wisdom, fish and chips from God himself... Can't get better than this..
Tears came to my eyes watching this scene, even being a Buddhist without the belief of a Creator....
I’m not active in any religion but these words are still pure beauty!
The writers deserve way more credit than they got for all of Morgan freeman’s quotes in these films!
Accept in the context of everything in the story of Noah’s Ark, it’s all bulls**t.
He talks about the story being about togetherness and stuff. He scoff off the whole “people think it’s about gods wrath and anger” when that’s totally what it was about.
Oh sure, god was trying to teach us about togetherness while he was committing genocide on the world.
Bulls**t writing from a dusty book to a movie screenwriting.
What I like the most about this scene is the actress. How her expresion changed at 1:31, she really delivered.
I'm not religious by any means but that speech about opportunities really got me
The simplest way of righteous phrasing to make u tear up, I love Morgan Freeman also the writer
Thanks lord...
