"When you lose, the phone stops ringing and the dust settles; that's when you experience yourself and who you really are."
Realness.
Facts
He is full of bs the phone should stop calling him long time ago but still gets a chance at belt :)))
“Somebody stood up and said he was a good man” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That one fucking still hits hard after hearing it like 5 times 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was too much 🤣🤣

Poirier is just a down to earth dude. I’ll always root for him because of that
F yeah bruv
Stop praising people for being down to earth that’s how it’s supposed to be

man.. so relatable but on a different scale.
crazy how you have all these mental problems and you'll never go to therapy for it just act like a teenage girl online goin 'damn! relatable!!'

Dustin Hall of famer for sure. This guy fought everyone in the lion's den and beat most of them. Mad respect brother.
Fosho, title or not porier cracks top 30 all day
No man lol :))) mediocre diamond no belts no def nothing :))) just a broken leg of a drunken coked and washed irish dude
Please beat Islam
Dustin, you got real fans that you've earned through real blood, sweat and tears (good old cliche). None of us are throwing you away. Not even when you retire. You will forever be the People's Champ 🏆💎✊️
Get a room
Dustin you are a champion, you could lose the next five in a row and still have a million lifelong fans. Fact. You’ve always brought the entertainment and something special to the Octagon, try not to beat yourself up bros.. probably every good man that listened to that podcast can relate to the struggle and self doubt.
Facts.
actually dustin never held the ufc championship belt only the intirem belt. hes one of the journeymen that got close to being champ. i know you are trying to suck off your boy just had to correct some errors.
Hearing this makes me think he knows it's time to retire but isn't sure how to walk away. He has a beautiful family, solid brand and overwhelming favor with the public. If he focused 100% on his business empire he could for sure reach McGregor levels with his hot sauce and everything else. All of his fans would give anything with his name on it a chance
You think hes reading? 😂
@@Kossuk Maybe he should, it might help him understand he has millions of supporting fans.
These Theo pods are like a therapy session for both the guest and the listener :D picking the brain of these guys who goes trough such physical and mental challenges is as good as it gets in regards to getting trough hard times !!
Theo is the only good podcast to me now a days. Everyone just talks about pointless shit or brings on guest that I could care less about. Especially Joe now. Theo is a national treasure
facts
Theo underrated as an interviewer. See how comfortable Dustin is talking about his mental health struggles.
Not just Dustin but literally everyone that comes on! Theo has a way of disarming his guests with his zero-ego and it breaks down walls that are normally pretty well built up in these guys. And bc they're so comfortable and not worried about playing the mental battle games, we get to see that exposed underbelly and it makes for great conversation every time!
made me feel so good about my choice to pursue law when dustin said 'go to school'. it felt so genuine. He's fr my idol.
Dustin is the man for coming out and speaking on his mental health struggles so casually. He is helping others without knowing it 🙏🏼 tough times don’t last, but tough people do 👊🏼
The howl "needing to fight or I'll fight with my self" is so relatable in a special way. That meat be looking like Stallone at the end of Rocky.
Dustin is my favorite UFC fighter. He's a Warrior ask anyone in the UFC. He's also the ultimate role model. The way he handles everything he goes through teaches people so much because he's allowing himself to be vulnerable. The definition of a Great Man.
Great chat from 2 guys who are open about mental health. Fantastic 🤩
Dustin's a real one, you can just tell. Some people you can just see the good in them without even knowing them. A diamond for sure! 💎
Exactly. He’s also a loving husband and father. He’s the polar opposite of Conor Mcgregor.
@@Brad_Pittstop you hater hahahaha
Your 1-1 don’t forget that. All he did was make it even. The trilogy has to happen. You are the better fighter.
Man Theo is kinda like a good therapist
Poirier has been responsible for some of the best fights I've ever seen. I'm a huge fan of his style. Huge power and great boxing skills, good ground game, great cardio and a heart of a champion. Most importantly, I feel like he's one of the only true Christian fighters and walks the walk in and out of the cage. In a backwards world where it's cool to be morally depraved and cocky, Dustin is a stone.
Couldn't have put it better brother
No, he’s a diamond!
Poirier is one of my favorite of all time he is so humble and open.
This was a really good interview. To see how he was struggling and overcame it. And Theo is really a good interviewer. I think the reason he’s become so popular because you can tell he’s not just interviewing, but he is speaking from his heart. I don’t even know if he would’ve thought, he would be as popular as for interviewing people.
Dustin since the connor loss has became one of my most watched favorite fighters i can just relate to him
i use to do the same thing. get in my car and just leave my family. stay in a hotel and just drink cuz i felt like i was worthless. dustin your the man much respect
DP is the real deal. We aren't ever going to forget you OG!
Dustins legacy is already set in stone. He has been there, done it and worn the t-shirt. Fought everyone and is a true fighting man.
One of the greats for sure. He fought the toughest competition and won a lot
Theo has a lot of these conversations and opens up his guests to be emotionally vulnerable and I appreciate that. he’s had enough of these conversations where I feel like he should be able to structure the questions better and not seem so out of sorts two questions in
I feel like I like Dustin more and more through his struggles. He really is a real dude, which didn’t seem that way when he was on top
We’ve all been in dark places buddy. Glad you fought out of it, you’re one hell of a fighter
This resounds very strong to the emotions of owning a business.
A huge part of my value in life is providing for my family. Some months I make big money and I feel like the man, but then the next month rolls through things are slow and I watch the company accounts dwindle... instantly feel like shit. It is not for everyone.
Feel that first part so much. Stay busy by working towards goals. If I sit idly too much, I start thinking too much and those doubts and fears creep in.
Top man, a brilliant fighter, battled hardened one of the best to watch
Such a good convo.
Its crazy hearing the way Dustin was talking about where his head space was and now within the span of one fight he's fighting for a title
Now I could imagine Justin is in a similar spot
Appreciate these guys while theyre here
DP your legend grows win or lose...respect!
Don’t ever feel down Dustin even after a loss. I’m a still a fan, you’re a OG in my eyes. Keep it real G don’t let your mind put you down
Absolutely!
I gotta meet both of these homies after Theos stand up set in NOLA back in 2019... good dudes
I met Dustin in the Robert graham store in the Cesar’s palace mall very humble man 💪🏽
Dustin is a legend, nobody would ever go against him especially true fans! He has bounced by always , true champ !
Dustin you are the man bro. True professional and phenomenal fighter. You can loose the next 3 fights and you still a legend. Hope you get those demons outa of your head bro.
You a champ!
These 2 are actually a dope collab
DP, I will always think you’re one of the best.
super super love this conversation
Good fella with a good woman beside him 👍🏼 when you don't know what you have you will surely know when you haven't. Stay focused on that strong bond.
Couldnt speak higher of dustin. What a great bloke. Warrior fighter as well. Respect.
praise Theo bro.
After absolutely breaking Connor and being humble and charismatic still after he just called you every name under the Sun I became a fan of yours. You’re a real one and that was my favorite win of yours. Beast
I can unfortunately relate to much of what he talked about, respect him addressing that.
Theo’s rockin the bangs
Theo is really a great interviewer
Dustin is a stand up guy. Certified legend!
1:51 😂 I'm pretty sure you can use that anytime and just get away with laughing at anybody. Genius!
Absolute respect for talking about mental health!
You gotta be able to handle the losses. Can't always be in the win column. Life is a feedback system trying to reveal something inside you about handling losses. Its easy to feel good when you are on top. Do it when you are down.
Dustin shining bright like THE DIAMOND
You the man diamond
A real dude right there
Hell ya he is just a normal dude who can throw hands good shit!!

Win, Lose, or Draw I’m in your corner Dustin, & you also Theo. Not everybody is like that, you got some loyal loyal fans out there. I hated to see that fight happen bc I like Justin too. Much like this 300 coming up between him & Max. Don’t wanna see either guy lose bc I love Max too, he’s a good ass dude
the diamond will always be in my top 5 favorite fighters of all time.
Damn the duo is back! Gonna be a great listen
Definitely gotta keep ourselves motivated towards goals otherwise like Poirier stated, you'll just be fighting yourself everyday.
Nobody felt like you were a loser after the fight with Justin…..you are revered my man!
A fighter is what you are. But fighting isn't just something you do. It's bigger then that. Your conquering fears and exceeding obligation under physical and mental strain that the normal human has never been through. And your literally one of the greatest on earth at it. Being a father and a husband is what you do. It's natural. What you are is fighting
The Gaethje head kick is one of my favorite UFC memories
Dustin is a real one
Dustin Poirier is the Captain America of UFC. He’s always been a likable, humble inspiration. I hope every fighter finds peace after being in the trenches their entire careers. I can imagine it’s tough to find purpose after dust settles. Props to these warriors. 💎🔥👊🏼
I love Dustin my fav fighter
Dustin I promise you life is not about what strangers think of you. Family friends and happiness is what you'll be thinking about at the end
Not only the Best today. Well Spoken. God of sports should Be a Fan of His.
I hope Dustin is able to continue therapy and continue to work on his inner world. People who struggle to sit with themselves tend to have a lot of demons they have yet to face. Drowning themselves in work, vices, and distractions. He won't be able to fight forever. He'll have to face the demons another way at some point.
Dustins the best man
Theo says, “Like” a lot.
Theo Von has the hair game on lock
It would be wild if in the next year his hair morphed into Hulk Hogans horseshoe
Idk bout that 😂
"I didn't wanna laugh but God just made me laugh right there" 😂
Poirier is a legend
You win some,You lose some but you live to fight another day.
One of the best mma fighters
Nothing more dangerous than a vulnerably emotional man
What about a vulnerably emotional man with a knife?
Yea to himself lol
@@lorenzop.8249 bold words from a fat kid 🤣
Nah, Mike Tyson, stick, and many more are best when they emotionally fucked
He has nothing to be ashamed of. He made it to the top and stayed there. Is he the goat of his division no, never will be, but he's one of the best to never do it, and that's not necessarily bad.
Top 5 lw of all time.
Well, we don't have to sugar-coat it, it IS a bad thing however I agree he has nothing to be ashamed of. Wanting to be the best at what u do is shallow within itself and it's more so about giving back to whats given him such a great, plentiful life, which he VERY much so does! I mean EVERY fight has been an absolute war and he's a staple of modern ufc. A legend in his own right, which is more than what most fighters get to say.
Dustin cool asf easily the most humble fighter
Humble is a stretch 😂 cool asf fs
"I'm a danger to myself" "I had to get up and leave the house and go stay in a motel"....I really hope DP is in therapy and getting real help man. Cuz fighting isn't gonna last forever. This sounds like signs of someone who could potentially hurt themselves or their family down the line. Can't just brush stuff like that off.
Poirier is that guy
For real Poirier got jokes 4:46 "he was a good man" "I am right here bro!" 😁
Dustin and Max Holloway are my favorite current UFC fighters
thanks
I hate that Dustin felt like that everyone threw him away after his ko loss. His true fans know what a stud he is and his legendary legacy.
If Poirier can beat Islam in New Orleans the roof will literally collapse.

Go get that belt brother!
Poirier is the true champ! Even when he leaves UFC he'll be remembered longer than some belt holders will.
Hold on, theo on SSRI? Damn bro
Real talk
In Louisiana, we never throwing the Diamond away. We knew he’d bounce back
Never ceases to amaze me how many people call Dustin fake. A sore winner is another funny one, like people don't love Colby or Conor when they're "sore winners"
I wish Theo would’ve took Tony up on his offer on going to his 4 day event, it saddens me to hear he’s back on anti depressants, because I know that’ll never give him the peace he’s searching for.
Agree!!
"he was a good man" 😂😂😂
Dustin reminds me of the old Samurai way of life and exsistance in Japan, they only really lived when they fought, normal life was boring and mundane to them, sadly death was their only release. I think looking at Dustin here In this interview he looks edgy, nervous and very alert, maybe too alert,I hope he is ok mentally.
"Mindfulness." Omg.
Very sound decent bloke Poirier, comes across really well.
