Taylor recently signed with the Sydney Flames, so the Mercury announcement came as a real surprise.
It's just a 7-day contract. and the Olympic break starts late next week.
I'm a CC fan, through and through, and I hope she does well tonight. But a part of me is hoping that Phoenix coach would put Celeste on CC whenever she's on the floor and just let her go at it end to end without any help..and that I hope it comes down to final shot by Fever to win, with Mitchell getting it and Celeste swatting it all the way to Fever bench directly at Side's face..that would definitely make my day//

@@ParisJohnson-vw3su I think the only way Sides gets fired, is if Lynn Dunn gets fired first as the GM. The GM is also the one who officially signs and releases players, at least I think that is how it works.

Looking forward to seeing CC and AR playing together. Thought both players have made some very nice comments about each other. I agree with AR, hope both are on the next olympic team together.

It's 4 years from now so we can't know, but I agree, and I think it will happen. CC, Reese, Brink and Jackson, Sabrina and Carrington, Paige and Carter and Kamilla and Collier and, of course, Aja. Possibly Juju if she comes out for the teams and wins a couple of championships.
Even just for 7 days I hope Celeste really is able to showcase her skills. Hope she also enjoys playing for The Flames down under and learns a lot while being appreciated.
Couple of questions...1. Is Diana T going to be healthy in time for the Olympics? If not, does CC replace her? If she does, does CC still play for All-Stars or does she move over to team USA?
2. Your thoughts on CC being the first woman to win ESPY for Best Record Breaking Performance and no one mentioning the fact that she is the first woman to do so?
I’m assuming she will be but if not yes and then she would move to US team I believe…I didnt really pay attention to ESPYs tbh

Meaning, while Clark has a shit load of turnovers, the ball being in her hands is a net negative amount of turnovers for the whole team compared to last year because her teammates don't need to handle the ball and have their own turnovers. And according to Second Spectrum, optical on-court basketball data technology, Clark has dribbled the ball over a thousand times more than the next person.

Like your idea on the player profiles, but maybe not (only) for TeamUSA. I get that the great portion of your audience isn't informed on how truly great these women are, but there is a wealth of knowledge on them available.
Maybe a profile of the 1st and 2nd year players? CC and AR dominate this area but there are next generation players like Diamond Miller, VanLoo, Siegrest, Jackson, Cordosa who are making impacts.
6:17 she’s still gotta do her job…and contributing a double double is a winning effort…regardless of the struggle..she also held Stewie to 0/6 from 3 and 34%FG shooting…so…a good defensive game…not the best offensive…but still a winning effort..she was also injured for like half a quarter

Agreed. Her defensive game was excellent.Stewie scored most of her points while Angel took a rest and when she was injured. When they moved angel to center she slowed jones down considerably and the Liberty went to Stewie and Sabrina. Did you see Angel out there directing the defense? She really is a smart and excellent defender. Defense doesn't have a slump.

I have to comment on Angel Reese. I watched part of her last game and was enlightened 😀not a fan!!! .OK, shes working hard but seriously, her fans cheered as she reached her double double when she got 2 rebounds on ONE of her own doubly missed shots . Seriously?
She looked horrible in that game, slow, confused, etc. Her final "rebound" was an airball from a teammate directly to her. The charade is over.
I tried to like Angel Reese. But between cheering for CC getting blindsided, Her egocentric attitude, the league sheltering her from the press, and now this canned double-double streak! I can't do it.
You watched one game. The Streak is at 15 games. During every streak there are rough spots. Some people like to say that a triple-double is a lot rarer than a double-double. Very true, but the number of players in the entire history of the WNBA to hit 15 consecutive games doing that has just one name attached to it. Angel Reese. You can't get any rarer than that.

The main reason why there is a limited supply of All Star jersey is bc DEI Wokesters in the HR dept of every dept decided not to have a whole bunch of CC fans running around the country with CC jerseys. I started watching CC her junior year. Never watched a WNBA game until this year. If the owner made Dunn and Sides pick CC ( I hear they wanted Reese or Cardozo ) why doesn’t the owner bring in a GM and Coach that will build around CC? This organization is so bad CC should retire after the all star game.

Big Buckeye fan. Celeste had athletic ability, quickness, could jump, and looked the part. All 4 years in college, she would show flashes of greatness from time to time. But every year, it was the same thing. She could not translate that athletic ability into making consistent or the necessary amount of basketball plays. End of story. I knew it was over for her when the Fever season started out horribly at 1-8 and Celeste never touched the floor. Not sure why they drafted Celeste, with CC, Mitchell, Wheeler they had enough guards. Maybe they drafted best available.
Good points. I like Taylor but I thought fans overreacted to her release. If her ultimate goal was the W, she might have done better staying at Duke with Kara Lawson who had a successful career. Hindsight here but Celeste did not have a good game against the Fever. I know she just got off the boat and I hope she does well but the Mercury can barely field a squad and still finished strong.

The Fever fans say that they should have played Taylor but where? Hull is their best defender and she's at the 3. Smith is at the 4 and Boston at the 5. Mitchell is at the 2, and yes, there is the possibility, possibility, because we can't know with Taylor's limited play, that she would be a better defensive player than Mitchell, but what we do know is she wouldn't come close to Mitchell's output or the defensive attention she would draw. There's a reason Taylor averaged 10 ppg in college, No Mitchell, more attention towards CC. That's just the way it would be. I imagine the Fever had to choose between Hull and Taylor because they needed another big. One can't fault their logic. I would have definitely taken Hull who is still young and is in her 3rd or 4th year. Honestly, the Fever I think realized their mistake in not taking a big in the draft.
