I always target the children of atom in his name. The secondhand frustration alone makes me despise them.
@@kotyrollins to be honest the children of atom should really be considered a real threat due to them worshipping a nuclear weapon and they have every intention of spreading atom's influence via nuking the world again.
If you wear a radiation suit, it almost completely negates damage, 'cause the gamma gun is all radiation damage and very little ballistic damage.
It's been almost 7 years since I've owned FO4 and never have I known that the shredder worked like that. I just thought that it made bashing better

Teenage Mutant Ninja Mirelurks
There's always a fusion core in the mole rat cave under Red Rocket.
There's also one outside of the Federal Ration Stockpile and one in the Fiddler's Green Trailer Estates, both of those are on the way to Vault 81 if you head straight south from Red Rocket. Quick three FCs early game, and there's a spare set of incomplete power armor at the Trailer Estates.

@@heirofaniu Normaly the moment you get spotted by the raiders there one will beeline for the PA that's in a container in front of the building
11:30 - You can actually use the Shredder against Mirelurks to great effect - you just need to angle the barrel of the minigun downwards so you're hitting their flesh and not their shell. While you might occasionally bounce off, you still deal a ton of damage, so the Shredder is capable of annihilating everything in the game in a matter of seconds. Fun!
Honestly, a fun breeze-through like this is always fun once in a while. Being an indestructible god of death can be great fun, especially if you shred your way through something that previously gave you trouble.

This entire time, since release, I thought the shredder was just a glorified mini gun bayonet for smacking people. I never used it and now feel silly.

I have 2000 hours in f4. I had no idea the shredder could attack like that. I mean this changes my whole view on how a heavy gunner build can be
Personal experience? It is NASTY with bullets being spat out at the same time as grinding enemies. Insanely fun.

The + bashing damage does affect the shredder
Fun fact. This was one of my first ever F4 builds. I called it the chainsaw build. With mirelurks the best was was to strike when they try to and look down, you want to hit their legs. Crippling them gave them a new walking animation where you could actively hurt them a lot faster.
U can just default bash them to death bc u dont get staggered by them blocking if u time it right
Careful fully crippling mirelurks, sometimes it causes them to sorta lean forward and you’ll just hit the shell

Can you beat Fallout 4 as a Scavenger.
Rules are you can only loot already dead bodies, like the drifter at the end of the bridge in Sanctuary.
Anything killed by NPCs are fair game.
Bodies killed by you cannot be looted.
Skeletons that have a weapon or a container near them are allowed to be looted.
Unless you allow and have a companion killing Kellog, it's not doable as you have to loot Kellog.
If you set exceptions for quest, then it's Ok.
Better yet as a scavenger you cannot kill on your own. Ymfah did it pacifist before but this might add a different edge

They actually do 1 damage. Between that and the duplication glitch that's pure pain but maybe? Especially if you can enchant them.
I've always looked at that weapon mod and thought "That looks fun but I'm sure it's terrible" Now I'm thinking I was so very wrong. Great video Nerbit, looking forward to the next one
12:55 this was the part that finally convinced me to do this run as well. Genuinely looks like a lot of fun even if I’m planning on doing it on survival.

The thing is u havent maximized it yet i guess. The thing is that most percentage based Buffs dont work but the yao guai whatever. Its strength that increases dmg and the Power armor. Ive Done that stuff in both fo4 and fo76.

@@Nerbit13098 I think you can make the build even better if you found a legendary variant of the minigun either with the bleeding effect or poison effect would have made the weapon even better or maybe even it increase rate of Fire legendary so it spins fast so you can blend even faster🤔🧐
Speaking of the old Kotor I’d love to see a run through that by you nerbit even if it’s just a basic challenge that’s not really challenging.

The real challenge there is getting it to run without crashing every few minutes. Although Nerbit does have an Xbox and a means to record it, so that would actually probably work pretty well since by the sounds of it that’s the most stable version these days

7 years ago when this game came out I was so bummed by the fact I couldn't use the shredder mod in a spinning attack and that it only was usable to bash with. I only now today found out that you can actually spin it
Accelerated barrel increase speed, strength increase damage, Better Critical add damage to the crit, and overdrive increase the bash crit from 15% to 40%. Just think of how well it worked the way you did it, and multiply it a few times with the added bonuses.
Accelerated Barrel only effects bullet firing speed and not the shredder as people have found out
Considering the general inconsistencies in the game, I'm not surprised if that is the case. A minigun in itself has no spin up time either, but this is what happens when people who have no insight into guns make guns in games.
Crazy to think your first fallout 4 video was that long ago and you're still able to make fresh entertaining content! Keep killing it Nerbit, you deserve all the attention!

The fact that Preston’s balcony was ON FIRE when you first arrived in Concord made me laugh much harder than it should’ve.
Idk why but the script writing for this one was hilarious. The bits with the Assaultrons and the laughing while on happy murder had me in stitches.

Ok real question, does the fire rate of the minigun affect the shredder attack? If you put the high speed barrel on would it make it stronger?
Yes. Also the only Buffs that work besides the yao guai whatever are the strength based ones. Ive played that stuff for ages

Fun fact: The shredder is a top tier weapon in fallout 76
No joke, I used to use it to kill sheepsquatches, but stopped when I got a Bloody Explosive flamer (that and it broke too fast imo)
I’ve had a furious minigun in my inventory for months and I never used it because 5mm ammo runs out so fast, definitely trying this now

@@rosieeeeeeeeeeeee 5mm is very easy to craft lots of in my experience. I exclusively used a vampire explosive mini for a long time, until i got a vampire explosive laser gun. Never had trouble with ammo. Plus it weighs almost nothing compared to how much damage you can deal, relative to other weps. With the ammo reduction perk card, 10k 5mm rounds is 1 weight unit.
I didn't know it was that powerful. I figured you just poked them with the 3 bits so I never tried it. I can't wait to try it for myself some day.
I… I had absolutely no idea at all, that this worked that way, and that it would work like the chainsaw from new Vegas. I’m about to redownload this game just to try this build out.
Ok so I did actually end up trying this and i swear on my life it was one of the best play through a I’ve ever had in regards to how much fun I had.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for nerbit to beat new Vegas as Ambassador Crocker.
you can even beat F4 as Crocker should you get the NV armor pack

@@sirkelendor5429 yup, over on manaan and it's the absolute worst part about the game. Extremely slow movement and no weapons aside from an upgrade you can get for your suit to fight off the sharks.
@@drunkwendigo2693 and even at that it instantly kills the sharks and turns what could have been a difficult section into a stinking waste of time. At least force powers could have been cool underwater, at least then dark side could have had an easier time while light side struggled a bit there.

I'm gonna be honest, it never occurred to me that this is how you'd gun bash with this Minigun mod.
Fun fact: legendary effects that can spawn on both melee and ranged weapons (so not two-shot or explosive) can affect the shredder. And the accelerated barrel makes it spin faster visually, but I'm not sure if it actually tick damage faster.
Barrel speed upgrades only function towards bullets and have no effect on the shredder which is capped at 20 hits per second in 1st person and 25 hits per second in 3rd person

Honestly i never knew the shredder even dealt melee damage,let alone become a chainsaw,i only found out in my second playthrough

Can we all agree after the crime against humanity that the gamma gun run was, the pure elation in Nerbit’s laughs as he scaled greentech was refreshing
I've put probably close to a thousand hours into this game and I never realized you could use the shredder like a ripper. I always just thought you poked enemies with it and it was useless
I don't know how well known this is, but if you have 10 in a stat and then get a debuff to it and use the book you can raise it to 11. Don't really know if that would come in handy for you, but it's something to know. 👍
Does that work with the bobblehead to give you 12?
As a side note, I know on PC you can mess with the game all you like, but there's something satisfying about doing it with only experience and tools the game gives you.
Once again, the minigun proves to be one of the coolest weapons in every single game it's in.

Honestly dude, I've been watching since the first F4 challenge video, and... it's nice to see an easy one every once in a while! You seemed to have fun with it and it's fun if it's tough as hell or if it's incredibly easy and fun for you, so I enjoyed this one a lot. It's unconventional but still a great time to watch.

This shredder trick works in 76 too, makes the earlier parts of the game incredibly easy even if you dont have any melee perks(if you manage to get one, that is)

I never used the minigun until a friend gave me a Vampire's one in 76, and it's my absolute favorite thing. Big heckin chainsaw. Most fun I've ever had with a Fallout weapon. super fun to watch you work with it!

Very Hard in F4 gets easy rather quickly and the Shredder is a pretty good makeshift weapon

That being said, I have a dumb joke challenge idea: "Can you play Fallout 76 without experiencing Buyer's Remorse?"
I doubt it'll even be possible, considering how much of a junkyard fire the game (and the drama surrounding said game).

For the exp in sanctuary, I find it easier to use metal and wood shelves because they just stack on top of each other and you don’t have to worry about placement of say fences at all.

Yeah, man, the Shredder is one of the strongest weapons in both 4 and 76. I picked it up in Fallou 76 a year back and it's become my primary weapon. Thing is nuts.
I think this is my favourite Fallout 4 challenge. Like ever. The sheer *chaos and bloodshed* he initiated is top tier!

As a latecomer to Fallout 4 I had no idea this weapon exists. This is truly the stuff of demented video game dreams.

Hey Nerbit, I love your videos. I have an idea for a 'Can you beat' video. The idea is 'Can you beat Fallout 3 or New Vegas as an animal whisperer?' The idea is that you have to use the animal friend perk and only animals can help you in battle.
