Poor Odin, a fractured eye socket must’ve been so painful. So pleased he’s ok! Love how both vets are explaining what they’re doing! Yes Dr Nancy & Dr Lydia, you’re both awesome xxxxx The new vet barn is AWESOME! How incredible being able to do all this on site! So happy for Horse Plus xxxxp.s the kitty stuck on the back cages made me chuckle!

Abbe, I agree about the white kitty in the background! It was funny to see a staff member try to hold up a basket to 'catch' or rescue it, but that fluffy was an expert fence
walker! I can't believe it didn't jump down and come over to see what all the fuss was about? I have a feral rescue that would and want to 'talk' about it! 🐱 Amazing procedures, wonderful vets though!

I’ve seen a lot of procedures working at Horse Plus. My first eye enucleation several months ago was the only one that made me feel dizzy. It so amazing to have the vet barn operational to be able to do these standing! It’s definitely cool to have two vets too!

Hey Kory, we all will be interested to see what kind of 'training' you will working with for Odin. As he was probably a team hitch workhorse, would he be better suited with one eye to riding, or a trail pack horse? Odin has star quality and will make a great vlog for sure with that 'talking' lower lip.

Kory, it is good to see your comments. Although watching the “” eye surgery “ caused a “ bit of wooziness “, it was amazing to see the two lady vets preform it, AND to see them work together. That is such a PLUS. They are both very talented and a blessing to watch.
Kory, you are such a natural working with the horses, donkeys, mules, just whichever you are working with at the moment. GOD BLESS YOU WITH MUCH HAPPINESS & CONTINUED SUCCESS ❗️🙏🏼
I think you were referring to the eye surgery removal that Dr. Lydia did a while back. My mistake.

What Amazing team work you guys did helping this poor boy out by removing not just 1 grossly infected area, but a bonus 2nd with that beautiful large pressure point abscess that was definitely ready and worth watching the thick fountain of yucky pus coming out. Dr Lidia sure did have 1 heck of firm hard grip on the sucker to get all the yucky pus coming out like that. I'm praying that good beautiful boy will have a speedy recovery and gains a whole lot of Strong Positive Strength and TLC and that he gains a whole new beautiful home to start his new chapter in life without pain, discomfort and infections. 🇬🇧🙏💜🤗

I LOVE the idea of showing the medical aspect of horse rescue and recovery! I worked for a humane society for 20yrs. When in college, I was a music major, started volunteering at a zoo, and I found my calling. I wish I had gone to vet school, but working for a non-profit, where you make a difference and not just lining someone else's pocket was my goal. I also worked for a large and small animal vet (my son works there now). I loved leaving the reception area to help in surgeries, anytime I could get away! Oh, and any time we had abscesses, Doc would let me do the squeezing! lol. We had a huge pyometra in a chihuahua with a uterus the size of a football. Amazing it hadn't ruptured (owner thought dog was pregnant-but never gave birth). We gingerly removed it without rupture into a pan. He let me pop it. I barely touched the scalpel and it blew!! That little dog was lucky she survived that without rupture! Humane work was my passion, and I got to do a lot of the minor medical, vaccs, etc...there, as well as train, groom, adoptions coordinator. I knew that shelter forward, backward, and upside down! I loved it, and I miss it so much! I'm happy to be able to see the medical side of rescue!

I am so thrilled to see you have created a new YT just for the vet side of caring for these beautiful horses. As a little girl, I have always wanted to be a vet, rescuing baby bunnies from cats jaws, taking in stray animals and just being an animal lover my whole life. Circumstances beyond my control kept me from pursuing a career in vet medicine, but the love is still there. Now that I'm a senior citizen, its too late, but I live my lost dream vicariously through you.
I do have a question regarding the new vet barn...do you foresee installing some type of lift on the ceiling to enable suspending the horse off the floor? I guess it would be much like what car mechanics use. Thank you for everything you do to save precious lives.

Your surgery videos are SUPERB for general population viewing! It's your EXPLANATIONS that include the medical reasons for the surgery, WHAT your procedure entails, and the doctor's reasoning for every step taken. With the sad condition of America's current health care industry, the more the public can view and understand about medicine in general, including surgical procedures, the better they are able to make health care decisions because they understand some reasons for their options. I am BEYOND PLEASED with your producers' determinations on how to present these surgeries, what to cover, and how to present all to your general audience, 99% of which never had a clue until now, what people who become good doctors really do when they attempt to heal their patients. As a critical medical professional, I give you guys an overall A+ for answering every question I would have asked regarding the surgery just performed. You also gave me food for thought . . . was ODIN's initial eye injury a result of a kick in the face by another horse? That would account for the position of the fractures around the eye.
BTW: While there are different types of animals, the commonalities among different species allow excellent doctors to treat most of them, restoring function and comfort.
Thank you for your continued exceptional coverage of your treatments. I suspect many veterinarian schools will make these videos available to their students when they cover the specific topics shown.

You Docs and staff are so funny you could take your show on the road! Poor poor Odin. It took far too long for Fate to get Odin into your skilled hands. How I wish I was many years younger and had the opportunity to find and take in fellows like Odin. Or even better, to get a chance to work as one of your crew. Wow. I can just imagine my 70+ self dropping to my knees to do something and having to call Odin back into surgery to hoist me back to max upright! A great video and I only peeked between my fingers a few times.

WELCOME Dr NANCY! So pleased to finally meet you :)
Awesome that you came via Dr Young too - fantastic.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a horse skull on my shelf... 😜🇦🇺🐨🦘 Daft Australian who wanted a couple of bits of a mare who was bitten by a 7ft King Brown Snake in the foaling yard 😢💔 She fitted and died JUST before we could shoot her, our vet was 9 hours away if he drove like he normally did ...our vet also collected pieces for teaching too so he took some bits.... and other bits we had in the freezer that ended up on the dinner table for discussion as we had lamb roast and that on the table to carve off as we wanted too... Grosses some folk out...but meh, tis a learning experience.
We did a C section to get the foal out immediately but not viable 😭 so had to put it down immediately. Not haired yet, so younger than thought by about 3 months.
Hope your techs survived the stench - lol nothing really does fix the smell does it?
    Love the elbow.....
I really should have followed a dream of being a vet!

Awesome. Like Dr. Nancy. And Dr. Lydia is goofy and terrific, as usual. Great idea for a channel. Interesting and fun.

This effort was amazing! I DON'T want to imagine what Odin went through that left him with that mess, and I wish the people who got him to this point would be jailed. I'm hoping he continues to do great. Sending good thoughts his way!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
