      Thank you! Having watched some tutorials before now and found myself completely lost, I really wanted to include the pic to help viewers navigate through the tutorial - or at least see the 'light at the end of the tunnel'! I'm glad you find it useful!

    I had a heck of a time trying to do this with 18 gauge deadsoft wire. So I tried it with 20 gauge wire and it was a little easier to do. I love this technique and just wanted to say thank you for sharing!

      Sorry to hear that. I haven't had those problems, but I know how frustrating it is when jewellery-making turns into a struggle! I'm glad you found a solution though, and hope you enjoy the piece!

  • @MichellesHandmadeCreations

    Beautiful! Probably not a project for a newbie, esp. a newbie with arthritis in my hands. Still appreciate the tutorial. I could probably make this knot with leather cording, a much softer material. TFS!

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks Michelle! This knot isn't too difficult, but the wire can take some 'persuasion'! I'd definitely start with the savoy knot and see how you go with that first. As before, moving down to 0.8mm wire will make it a bit easier, as will making the knot a bit larger, but yes, it would look great in cord!

    You do such a great job of keeping wires together...love your art. Thanks for sharing! Do you use a specific wire?

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  Před 7 lety +1

      Thank you! I use pure, bare copper for these videos, which tends to be a little softer than the plated or coated wire. For this knot, I used 1mm diameter wire (18 gauge) but I think 0.8mm (20 gauge) should work too.

    Would be helpful if you give the GAUGE wire, instead of MM's only. Also, is it soft, half-hard, or hard wire?

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks for the feedback. I'll try and add that in where I can, but I do have a conversion chart available at www.createwithcopper.co.uk/single-post/2016/09/14/Wire-basics . None of my wire suppliers state the hardness, but I would say it comes soft, which is ideal for this particular piece.

      Hi Ann, I printed this one out and taped it the side of my computer screen. It helps me a ton! And all the tutorials I've done, they use dead soft copper wire.

    What gauge is the wire?

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  Před 7 lety

      Hi Annette, I used 18 gauge for the knot - although you could use 19 or 20 gauge. And the wire for the chain is 26 gauge, but I chose that to go through the beads, so you could adjust it depending on the beads you use and their hole size.
