- this is my biggest insecurity and how I became satisfied with the person in the mirror. woo! more vlogs: goo.gl/pJDaW6 Korres Lip Product I mentioned: bit.ly/2s7gABv (not sponsored)
In todays vlog I get ready for the day and come to the realization that I'm really satisfied with the way I look and how I came to that point! I go to a meeting in hollywood, meet up with my friend Lily who is from London and take her to Disneyland with Remi and Mackenzie.

I honestly feel like Kylie Jenner has made a lot of girls/women more insecure with their lips. I mean, obviously it was HER insecurity in the first place which prompted her to get all those injections. I laughed when I heard Kendall Jenner say to her, "You look like a Bratz Doll." She just doesn't look like a real person anymore. Love your attitude, Monica.
I have to disagree, I think she definitely brought more attention to it, but didn't start the trend of having big lips
Welll its not Kylies fault. She is a human like everyone else who is free to do what he/she wants to do with their body. Although she is in the limelight she didn't say she is a role model or someone to look like.
Kylie's huge lips are NOT attractive. They make her look like a clown.
Erin Galbraith I think she is still beautiful and all those changes are not fucked up but she totally made women and girls really insecure. Whole Kardashian gang did. And that's bad. This comment about doll was just sad.
My biggest insecurity is my skin. Like I try my hardest to keep it perfect but acne runs in my family and people who don't have it don't know how hard it is and just blame it on you for not washing your face and it sucks😩😩😩
same my whole family has acne just remember that you are beautiful !!!!!!!
Lauren Truelove I used to be the same! My biggest tip is to see a dermatologist because they will know what to do. As soon as I went my skin started to clear!! (Also my skin cleared up a bit when I stoped eating dairy)
I had the absolute WORST acne until I went on the pill (for other medical issues). If you're not on the pill already and you can be on it medically, I'd recommend talking to your doctor about it. 😊
Lauren Truelove the best thing you can do is using non irritating skincare without alcohol, perfume etc. and you could treat your skin with BHA/AHA. those are chemical exfoliants which really work unlike scrubs. I get mine from Paulas Choice simply because here in Europe we dont have that much options, I think in the US there are many more. you could google it or I could tell you more about it, if you want to.
Lauren Truelove After having acne for 14 years I totally hear you! Acne and bad skin runs on my dad's side and it only isn't until recently that my skin has really cleared up. I would highly recommend going on the pill, I heard people saying it all the time and after years of acne medication, the pill made the absolute biggest difference! I also really recommend lush products, especially their ultrabland skin cleanser and then wipe it off with their eu roma water toner. But I would get a recommendation from a lush store or look online for products your skin type. I hope this helps!
Still can't get over how great that cut is on you, makes we wanna go shorter for the summer months! As always, love your vlogs :)
I feel like you have great music taste and it would be super cool if u did a whole video on it
Everyone thumbs this up!
Girl I feel you on the young age thing. I'm 22 almost 23 and people think I'm 12. I was given a kids menu just days after getting married and people also think my 2 year old is my brother. Probably doesn't help that I'm super short (4'8).
Monica, I'm 37 and I spent all of my teens and early 20's looking like a 12 year old. Yes, it's hard when you're living through it because there will always be people that you want to look more like, but I'm telling you with ALL honestly, you are cursed with the greatest blessing ever! I don't think I really started to hit my stride until 30 and it's awesome! All the bikini model, big boobed bombshells from my younger years are looking a little past their prime while I'm feeling fresh, young and confident. Own it, believe me - you'll love it. Plus you're absolutely gorgeous now, nothing to change and no reason to rush getting older. You've got your whole life to do that.
Disneyland should have a place in which you record yourself saying "Hi! my name is ___ and you are watching disney channel" then they just edit the magical Mickey mouse outline and you get the video as a souvenir
Wait that's so smart!
This video really had me thinking. I don't wear A LOT of makeup and by that I mean the whole "cut crease, fake lashes and blah blah" and I always felt like I was doing a minimal look because I didn't use "a lot of products" but the things I do - do, changes my appearance so much. I add fake freckles, contour my face/nose & fill in my brows to look naturally bushy. Sure, it looks like a "natural" look but it's not really me and I just realized this now :/ thanks for being real and helping me realize that I don't need to change myself to be beautiful
Catlady Alii I related to this soo much, I like to apply natural makeup because "crazy" makeup just doesn't look good on me. I always feel bad that I never change up my look, but I also really enjoy what I'm doing!
"Vegas vlogs!"
I realized that not having mirrors around the house when I was growing up made me less insecure about my looks. When you don't look at yourself constantly, you don't pay attention to your physical flaws. that's my take on it, at least.
I have the exact same lip balm! Korres is a greek company which uses only natural ingredients and personally everything that I have tried is pretty good. Glad you liked it, I didn't expect to see a product like that all across the world! 😊
I used to be so insecure about my nose because all the people around me didn't have a nose like me. As I've gotten older and more secure in myself, I've started to appreciate my nose since without it, I wouldn't look like me. It also makes me unique and sets me apart from other individuals :)
you always send SUCH positive messages to your viewers! i love how you are so genuine and real and don't follow along with certain trends/ideas just for the sake of fitting in. you are such a good role model!!
WHEN YOU STARTED PLAYING COAST MODERN I ACTUALLY DIED THANK YOU FOR USING SUCH GREAT MUSIC IN YOUR VIDEOS WE HAVE THE SAME TASTE AND I LOVE THE WAY YOU USE MUSIC IN YOUR VIDEOS TO COMPLEMENT THEM
When you are about to get up and be productive then Monica uploads...😂
DUDE I totally feel you with the whole "you look young" thing, I get that all the time! I'm 18, but I'm a small person so people tell me that I look really young. I was at a college event for ADMITTED STUDENTS, and this girl told me that she thought I was a sophomore in high school - not sure why a sophomore would be at an admitted students event but okay
aw ilysm! i just did a research paper on the beauty industry's and media and the affect on confidence. it sucks that people are constantly surrounded by this bad influence of people making themselves look "pretty" but they aren't even themselves. this is suck a great message. thanks baby ❤️❤️
I was honestly going through a really rough time/faze where I was so insecure without makeup and used it to make myself look different as well, which was totally weird now looking back on it. I'm finally liking the way I look even just natural without any makeup or with very little on a daily basis. It's such a good feeling to finally like myself for who I am, and to stop worrying what I look like compared to every other girl or caring what others think of me. I'm me and I like me after spending so much time being hard on myself for not looking like what the media expects. Great video!
LOVE Portugal the man!!
i think you look exactly your age to be honest!
Vegas vlogs!!
My biggest insecurity has always been how undefined my eyes are and how I always look sick/tired when I'm not wearing any makeup. It's actually specifically why I started wearing concealer, eyeliner and mascara freshman year of high school. I'm about to graduate and I have probably worn makeup to school once this year. I'm happy with the face looking back at me and I found just drinking more water and eating healthier helped me from not looking so sickly all the time and I feel a lot better physically too!
It's wild how much I relate to you every single day. Thanks for your insight :)
Portugal. The Man is the BEST!!!!!!
Honestly, you're right about how people don't really love themselves anymore because of society basically. I use to hate everything about myself. From the way my face looks when I smile, to my weight and my skin and how dark I got when I went under the sun. But now, I love myself. Even if I do look a little fat or if I get a few pimples here and there. I love myself and I hope everyone will learn to love themselves as well. (:
Yes! I totally understand the whole thing about looking young. I'm 21 and people always tell me I look 15. I am still learning to accept myself as I am, but I sure can say I am a lot more confident than when I was in high school. That's for sure! Thank you for that pep talk. I love your vlogs!
My biggest insecurity is my skin, and my body. but I'm working out and eating so much better than I was. That's not to fit the mod of what society thinks is attractive or so I can impress a guy. It's for me. Ever since, I've started working out and eating healthier I have more energy, and I'm not cranky. and I just feel better about myself. I like the way I look, and I feel like society is telling us we shouldn't like the way we look, but whats wrong with it? Nothing. Thank you Monica, for being a positive youtuber and saying ''this is me, and I like the way I am''. Embrace who you are, ladies and gents.
Monica! I seriously am in love with your vlogs! I always feel so inspired to live life like there's no tomorrow and to love myself as I am! Thanks for being you! 😭👏🏼💗
I appreciate your honesty. I just want to highlight that the feelings you had are literally what thousands of black women have been feeling for decades! Only recently has full lips, big butts and wide hips become popular. Before people who had them, especially black women, were shamed into thinking that they were less attractive because it did not fit into the western standard of beauty which is often modeled after white women. I'm not saying any of this to devalue your feelings. I'm just saying it to give some perspective. Side note, please do not give the Kardashians credit for making big lips and curvy bodies cool. They've always been cool in the black community, and it is very known that the Kardashians love to take things from other communities and profit off of it.
I live for your freaking vlogs , Monica! Keep up the wonderful work girl , love you!☺️💗
did you see your comment at 3:07 in the video btw? :D
I love the beauty positivity at the beginning of this video, especially on a platform that has thousands of videos showing you how to make yourself look better :) Vegas vlogs!
Oh my gosh! I can totally relate to people telling you that you look younger. I'm also 22 and people think I'm like 16 all the time. Not fun. Thanks for sharing your journey to feeling more secure with yourself, Monica!
I've been obsessed with Portugal the Man for years now!
Vegas vlogs 👌🏼 love the Lizzy Disney joke at the end cracked me up that much 😂😂😂
Love this Monica ❤❤❤
Vegas vlogs!
I love your vlogs they are always so well-done and anyone can see that you put a lot of effort into making them, which I love. It is always a highlight of my day getting to watch one of your videos. You're a really talented cinematographer (I hope that's the correct English word) and I love the editing and the angles. Keep doing what you do. Love from Finland
Thank you for talking about liking yourself for you! I hate seeing all these people trying to change themselves. We need more people like you on CZcams.
portugal the man has literally become my fav band i always get so excited when you put them in your vlogs
I'm 25 and people say I look like I'm 28-29 . Now that sucks
floralvintagexoxo same I'm 20 and I get mistaken for being 27
Vegas vlogs.
Monica I absolutely adore your videos! The second you post, it's drop everything and watch Monica's vlog time.
UGH i love portugal.the man so much and when i started hearing it on your videos i freaked out! i've also heard wilco on some of your old vlogs which is awesome!
I love this video! Thank you so much for opening up! You're so real and relatable and it is super refreshing:)
I love Portugal the man! I agree with everything you said about not using makeup to change you and the importance of loving yourself! Wise words Monica!
Vegas vlog! I was like. There's no way her end screen is that long 😂
Also. Thank you for being vulnerable about your insecurities and also being real and showing your happiness. I'm glad to see you're good with who you are!!
Also. I'm 26 and someone last week thought I was 20. And when I was 23 someone thought I was 15. It's lovely. Also. I'm 5'2". Not helpful 😂
Props to you Monica. You look amazing!! Literally my fav youtuber ever
I'm 29 and still get asked for ID to buy anything, even lottery tickets 🤦♀️ (which is 18+ here 🇨🇦)
Also, love your name! I don't hear of many other Monica's :)
Cant believe you are using Korres!!! It's a Greek company, and we are really proud of it here in Greece. Best company ever
Just a few hours ago I said to my boyfriend, "you know, I'm starting to really like Portugal. The Man". They really are a great band! Glad to know you like them too!
I'm so glad that you're happy with the way you look. I think you are absolutely stunning.
I can definitely relate on the looking younger thing! I just graduated high school and I still get mistaken for a 16-year-old on a regular basis.
I stopped wearing makeup during college for a few weeks on purpose and soon after I just continued to forget to put makeup on while leaving the house. It has been so freeing. I'm 27 now and have a kid and a baby on the way so I do find myself a bit more insecure about bags under my eyes and such but a little concealer, mascara and good to go!
Vegas Vlog!!
Monica, how do you include all of this great music in your videos without getting nailed for copyright stuff?? Truly addicted to your vlogs by the way, never stop doing the videos YOU love to do. Devoted viewers will follow.
Vegas Vlog! love your videos, and I definitely hate it when I get told I look younger than I am. I am 21 and a customer at my work came up and asked me if I had a birthday coming up because I "look about 12". I was so annoyed by him. He also came in another time and told me no wonder I wasn't married because I am "so expensive". He was referring to my ring (that my mother got me for 30 bucks) and it was an Opal. But I used to be into trying to change myself to look older and I finally am over it. I hardly wear makeup anymore and I love my natural self (:
I heard Coast Modern at 3:50!!! Ahh I love that band and not many people I know do. I was so excited when I heard you listen to them.
I have never tried to make my lips look any different and I don't have big lips. I have always loved your videos and think you are beautiful! So glad for your journey!
I am so sick of being told how young I look! I'm almost 23 & in the fall I'm doing my teaching internship placement in a middle school. I joke about how no one is going to be able to tell me apart from the students but it's something that I truly hate! I'm so sick of people telling me I'm going to be thankful when I'm 40. I just want people to take me seriously in my twenties!
Vegas Vlogs !
(get it Monica, you're the realest vlogger out. Keep it up sis!)
Honestly I stopped keeping up with what body trend is considered in right now because it just changes so often but I like myself the way I am. And btw you introduced me to Portugal. The Man like 2 months ago and I LOVE his music!
portugal the man is one of my favorite bands! seeing them at red rocks this summer
Monica I love how your hair looks! How do you ask for it cut? It's awesome that you're always so positive and I feel like you rly know yourself! Love your vlogs 💕💕
Omg that Lizzie maguire throwback 😂
Vegas vlogs!! Hey Monica you are so awesome I just recently found your channels and I absolutely love them. You are so fun and beautiful!
Omg someone finally understands me😂 everyone always thinks I'm 12 or something and I'm almost 15. People still ask me if I want a kid menu🙄🤦♀️
I love that you make so much videos recently! love watching you! greetings from Germany :)
Monica, your videos are so inspiring and beautifully done and amazing! You're amazing! Thanks for being wonderful you.
I love you, Monica!!!!
Vegas Vlog
I love portugal the man!! FEEL IT STILL :)
Vegas Vlogs! Love ya monica!
Vegas vlogs 💕 love ya also you should show us your whole wall in a vlog because I never got to see my name on it lol
I get the "looking younger" comment ALL THE TIME, I feel ya girl. Also can't wait for the vegas vlogs
😃😃
I'm 19 and going to be a sophomore in college and constantly have people asking if I'm going to be a freshman in high school so I feel you girl it sucks!!
Vegas vlogs! I love your videos Monica! You're such an inspiration to me
i think my insecurity is my body. I am really skinny naturally and i have always been told that. I'm constantly worried about my weight when i gain a few pounds because it's like i don't want people to think i have given up bc i gained 6 lbs or so. I'm constantly stressing about what my legs and arms look like because i see so many beautiful skinny people and idk if that is me anymore.
besides that, i think I have really big cheeks and a chubby face, even though i'm skinny. I always think that might be a reason i'm always so worried about my weight.. idk
I get that all the time too. I'm 19 and everyone thinks I'm 16. And they all think I'm still in high school it's so annoying!
Okay, but can we talk about that Coast Modern bit. LOVE THEM!!
I love Monica's playlists on Spotify❤️
so so so obsessed with you and your vlogs!!!!!! VEGAS VLOGS!!!!
Also Vegas Vlogs!!!! Also Lucy is gorgeous, so are you & Shelby - all so naturally beautiful! :)
The Hillary Duff part yeeees!!! I love those kind of videos of Disney starsVegas vlogs, yayaaa
That's so true. I hate when ppl tell me I look like a lot younger then I am. Like I understand it's a "compliment" in a way. But no..... it's annoying.
VEGAS VLOG!!!!!! WOOO!!!! can't wait to watch it! Huge fan of you and your vlogs!
VEGAS VLOG looks pretty lit, ps Monica ur my fav vlogger and an inspiration to me like ur the reason why I bought a dslr, please stay awesome👍🏼
I love Portugal the Man!! One of the best bands out there
Monica's vlogs are my favorite
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO POST A VLOG FOR SOOOOOO LONG!!! ps love you
im 15 and get told i look like 12 which really sucks because its not just about how you look, its about how people treat you because they treat u the age they think u r rather than the age you actually are so its honestly so annoying. i guess their are ways to make you look older but then it wouldn't be natural and like being yourself so then people bash you on that. theres just no right way tbh i hate society
I get told the same thing all the time! I'm 24 and I've been mistaken for a high schooler. Not cool. Then yeah people always say "you'll love it when you're older!" and I'm just like "wellll I don't love it now!" haha
I got into a bar for free once, in Nashville, because the girl at the desk thought I was under 12. Legit. Here's the thing. I was 24. :) I have a really round face, and I try to change that a lot. So, I'm still working on that whole "be yourself love yourself" thing. LOVE your channel btw. I'm changing my life because of your channel. I'll have to update you one day soon.
I agree on the young age thing...I am also 22 and got asked within the last year if I was old enough to sit in the exit row (FYI you only need to be 15 to sit in the exit row). It was awful
excited for the vegas vlog !! i have yet to go and i recently turned 21 !!
Monica you are amazing
Vegas vlogs! Totally relate to what you said at the beginning! I'm 22 and everyone thinks I'm 12... 😐
Vegas vlogssss, woohoo lol and I love Portugal. The Man!
I'm 23 and people constantly think I'm 17-18 maximum. Even when I was working at Mac and I was caked in make up i still got told that on a daily basis. They even thought my 17 year old colleague was the older one between us two. I personally really don't mind. I think of the future when everyone is looking old and I still look a few years younger than i actually am ;p
That Hillary Duff clip though 😂😂
Vegas vlogs, haha. You are my favorite vlogger so far, really enjoy watching Your vlogs. :)
Vegas Vlogggg 😏
Love you Monica!
Okay someone needs to get you LaDurées Macaroons asap! 😂
Vegas vlogs!!!!! I'm so excited to see them!
