- In this video I use a wood chipper to make Shark Chum and then I show how I turn it into chum sausages. It saves so much room in the freezer.

Enjoyed the chum video definately an easier way of chopping up the fish...... Nice one..
Yes it is bear wish I did it years ago lol
Here in Nz we have been able to buy burley/chum like that for probly 30 years. From the shore they get put i to a net bag then just toss them into the water tied to as long as a rope as you like. From a boat they can get put into the same bag or a weighted collapsible "wobbly pot" and tied to the anchor warp or lowered to desired depth on a rope. Easy to use and so so seffective.
I didn't know that. Not sure you can buy chum in the UK matui but I suppose I have never searched for it. But I have never seen anyone else in the UK do the chum sausage idea. It makes the storage so much better and you can store more without loosening frezzer space too.
Thanks for your comment I really appreciate it
In the US plastic grocery bags are popular, not sure about your location. you could use the plastic bags to insert into the pipe before the chum, and the proceed the same way. In this case, after removal it is in a plastic bag with handles. Thanks for sharing the video.
Good idea thanks James
Works a treat Dave, 👍👍
It's spot on its perfect and £40 you can't complain
How much fish can a fish chopper chop, if a fish chopper only chops fish, very inventive Dave, hopefully this thinking outside the box will be rewarded with some great fish for you and Mark 👍👍
Thanks pat I hope so always thinking outside the box
Good video dave great idea 💡
Thanks Dave. Saves so much more room in the freezer
Awesome video Dave some great tips in there I will be pinching some for sure
Thanks lee I'm glad you liked it thank you for watching like you always do I appreciate it
@@C3BFA anytime Dave it’s a top channel was dying to get home from work to see it
That's brilliant lee and thank you
Hi there, I recently bought a machine and found it fantastic to say the least
Thank you
That's brilliant
Great video really great tip there mate!!! I haven't seen this before. Great stuff!!!
Hopefully it will help a lot of people lrs
Nice one, recon I will do the same but maybe with square drain pipe just for a bit more space saving as I’ve only a small freezer.
That's a very good idea
Good fun, you could just leave the chum in the pipe and take the whole pipe fishing and drop it in your berley bag and it will disperse out the ends and just bring it home and reuse it over and over
You could but I will have half a frezzer full if sausages not just a few and then it's more items on the boat / clutter so just taking the sausages without plastic tube it's less clutter and I would probably need 30+ tubes.
I will have the frezzer full of chum not just a few
@@C3BFA if I had more room I'd get me a chipper and make some, I fish off rocks so usually just take a heap of loaves of bread and mush them up for burley, another cheap burley is a bag of sheep and cattle nuts they work well too, I am in Australia
It's shame John. If your off the rocks leaving the chum in the plastic would work great. But off a boat I don't need to.
Thank you for watching Aswel John i appreciate it. it's crazy that the videos literally go world wide
@@C3BFA cheers mate tight lines
And you John
Great video mate even if I aren’t a boat fisherman very informative
Thanks mark some people use chum from the shore too.
Never thought of that would that be more off rock marks though
Any where mark I have buried chum at lower then fished it up not sure if it really makes any difference but I have never blanked when I have do e it
Great idea
And that's how you satisfy a machine and you with a Fish Dinner!
🤣🤣🤣 it smells amazing but I won't be eating it lol
Hi Dave great idea ill be using your method from now on i normally use a 4 ltr square ice cream tubS tight lines Alain
Exactly the same here Alan or I go bigger and it wastes so much space in the freezer this method don't. You can cover the bottom of the frezzer and you loose ,4 inchs of high and so on it's a very good storage idea especially in small square chest freezers

@@C3BFA Hi Dave what dia is the drain pipe 6 inch ? off to B&Q in the morning see what they have
4 inche soil pipe Alan but 6 would possibly work better
@@C3BFA ill check what size i think best to suit the chum bags i make up two types quick release for use when you first start chumming then use the Slow release Bag once you have a good slick running
Out of interest, is this shredder still working? I used an Aldi one for a while but I started getting electric shocks from it from all the moisture !
Yes I still have it in storage Chris. Once this chum is gone I will be doing more see how long the chipper lasts but seems ok at the moment
Use to use food processor and put in zip bags but like your method
The sausage idea just make storage easier and you can store more
How do you clean it?? It's gonna stink
Water coops and a brush took me about 15mins then I sprayed it all with wd40 and gave it a good wipe
@@C3BFA i just drag the bags behind the boat dave on the way in bags are spotless when you reach the harbour
What a old idea Dave pinch the wife’s hair dryer and dry out the blades that way and a cloth to wipe the tube don’t worry you can block the chipper up with the sticks as well tight lines
Good idea Liz thank you
