For those who might be interested to know, an adult basking shark is the culprit for most "megalodon" sightings in recent times. These guys get pretty huge.
The moment you see a guy on a paddle board with a 5 metre shark in the water you know it's a basking shark. If it was something else then neither the guy would have been paddling coolly nor would the little girl stand so close to thr waters edge.. Beautiful.creature. Devilish humans

For anyone saying that the kids have a good sense of danger, just remember that throwing rocks at something makes it 10000x times more likely to attack you, and even white sharks are fine with you as long as you dont start flailing around, bulls tigers, and whitetips are the only sharks I think people shouldn't turn their backs to.

Poor shark, alls it wants is peace n quiet but instead it gets shouting and stones thrown at it!! Don't people know how to learn their kids to be respectful?! Especially around an animal that's been on the earth for millions of years before us?!....
The people there were just curious because a shark came so close to land, just like sharks become curious when people enter the ocean. The shark clearly didn't look distressed at all and it probably didn't care less about what was happening around it, including the one tiny fucking pebble that was thrown. I'll bet you're one of those people who find the slightest thing to complain about when it comes to animals. Just shut the fuck up, you're blowing the whole video out of proportion with your idiotic comment.
Damon van Halen for your information the shark would have been well aware of its surroundings!! Most types of fish and sharks sense by vibrations and with that lot yelling and the throwing of 'one tiny fucking pebble' will have spooked it at least a little!!
People saying “privileged kids” throwing rocks. It’s wrong for kids to throw Rocks, I agree.... BUT ITS ALSO WRONG FOR ADULTS to expect kids to be anything but kids. They are kids they don’t realize they are doing anything wrong. Be annoyed at the parents who allow them to throw rocks. A child needs to be taught, it’s parents who fail to teach them.
Who gives a damn if kids were throwing rocks at it? A. The rock didn’t make contact and B. By the time they reach the shark it would be nothing but a small tap.
ive been told that basking sharks are common in british waters, even if it wasnt a basking shark, which it definately was, its still cool to see sharks up close.
"common" but having a large range it is very rare to actually see one. Maybe lucky to get 1 or 2 sightings a year. It's not like seeing for example a blacktip reef shark in warmer climates, which tend to stay in shallower water and do not venture far outside their range.
I see a basking shark very close to the coast of Norfolk UK.it was about 30 feet from the beach.it was black in colour and 13 to 15 ft long.no one freaked out and no one lobed rocks at it.
Seriously people!!!??? It's a freakin plankton eating basking shark, they are not aggressive and are harmless to humans, so PLEASE STOP freakin the shark out...sheesh!
My head canon is right after the video ends he accelerates to max speed and breaches the water to bring that dude on his board down. Seeing as he is a basking shark instead of eating him he allows his Evil intent to flow and just holds him down at the bottom until he drowns, gifting his body to the Shark God Bruce who made his debut in Finding Nemo.
I thought it was a harmless shark by the way it moved; more whale shark like. The basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus) is the second largest living fish, after the whale shark, and one of three plankton-eating sharks besides the whale shark and megamouth shark. It is a cosmopolitan migratory species, found in all the world's temperate oceans. It is a slow-moving filter feeder; its common name derives from its habit of feeding at the surface, appearing to be basking in the warmer water there. It has anatomical adaptations for filter feeding, such as a greatly enlarged mouth and highly developed gill rakers. Its snout is conical and the gill slits extend around the top and bottom of its head. The gill rakers, dark and bristle-like, are used to catch plankton as water filters through the mouth and over the gills. The basking shark is usually greyish-brown, with mottled skin. The caudal (tail) fin has a strong lateral keel and a crescent shape. The teeth of the basking shark are very small and numerous, and often number one hundred per row. The teeth have a single conical cusp, are curved backwards, and are the same on both the upper and lower jaws. Adults typically reach 6-8 m (20-26 ft) in length. Basking sharks are believed to overwinter in deep waters. They may be found in either small schools or alone. Small schools in the Bay of Fundy and the Hebrides have been seen swimming nose to tail in circles in what may be a form of mating behaviour. Despite their large size and threatening appearance, basking sharks are not aggressive and are harmless to humans. It has long been a commercially important fish, as a source of food, shark fin, animal feed, and shark liver oil. Overexploitation has reduced its populations to the point where some have disappeared and others need protection.
I feel like that little girl with her arms crossed was standing dangerously close to that shark, thought it was about to jump out the water and get her

Havent those kids seen sharks in their life? If not then...............................STOP THROWING ROCKS ON IT !!!!!!!
Well they are Irish.

1. It's a Basking Shark so it'd be more scared of them than they are of it.
2. I agree, they shouldn't have thrown stones at the poor thing.
3. It looked pretty lost
mercidita andrade i would blame their parents

*It explains why so many American women, which are Irish-descended, are so smart.*
For those who might be interested to know, an adult basking shark is the culprit for most "megalodon" sightings in recent times. These guys get pretty huge.
it's a beautiful harmless basking shark and it is a gift to be able to see them in this close!
And they decide to throw shit at it.
am I the only one concerned about the dog?!!!
Jackie Camero nope
Jackie Camero yes beby u r a beauty also

Jackie Camero he was trying to jump and no one was worried XD only about the fricking shark also why are they letting their kids get that close
As a shark, I can confirm those are Irish folks.
They're in Northern Ireland they're not feniens they're northern Irish

Yup. I'd be that guy. Always have, always will.

Props to that girl in the stripped shirt for staring down a shark while other kids panicked....

RESPECT YOUR ELDERS, THIS SHARK HAS PROBABLY BEEN AROUND MORE THAN I HAVE
Shark: *whistling* ah what a peaceful Sunday stroll. Oh look, land creatures. Don't mind me, just passing through.
Humans: *shrieking* *screaming* *shouting*
Shark: Jesus! I wonder what they're all worked up about. Well I better get going home.
Poor shark, alls it wants is peace n quiet but instead it gets shouting and stones thrown at it!! Don't people know how to learn their kids to be respectful?! Especially around an animal that's been on the earth for millions of years before us?!....
I live there we don't have sharks it was a shock to see first shark in Northern Ireland
Don't forget some kids throw themselves into the animals enclosure at zoos and then get the poor animal shot 😂
Natty S Too true!! I have a feeling that humans aren't as clever as they are made out to be, especially as they put themselves in danger!!....
EXACTLY!
Yep
That’s what I’ve been thinking
it's also stupid for adults to mistake seaweed for rocks
Yes but I don't just think that's kids being kids either.
Before realizing it's a basking shark, anyone else nervous for the dog hoping it didn't jump in?
Who gives a damn if kids were throwing rocks at it? A. The rock didn’t make contact and B. By the time they reach the shark it would be nothing but a small tap.
basking shark is a rare protected species. everyone should have informed child support instantly about how these kids are borderline psychopaths.
MrAnimepredator borderline psychopath?! They're just kids playing around. Lighten up, drama queen.
So harming an rare and endangered species is fun? Wow... you're sick
No, but they're dumb fucking kids who don't know any better.

Basking sharks are gentle giants. Awsome to see one up close
Even the dog is like: Whaa da FoOk is da!
ive been told that basking sharks are common in british waters, even if it wasnt a basking shark, which it definately was, its still cool to see sharks up close.
Oh yeah throw a rock at it good job

They're just excited kids. All you critics on here bashing the kids would of acted the exact same way at that age.
It makes me sad that sharks have been demonised to the point where little kids throw things at it.
Hope baby shark changes that
im pretty sure those kids are just trying to get a reaction from it, very unlikely that they think it's a monster or something
little kids are demons
Seriously people!!!??? It's a freakin plankton eating basking shark, they are not aggressive and are harmless to humans, so PLEASE STOP freakin the shark out...sheesh!
It's like these people haven't picked up an ocean life book before
props to the little children who panic and scream hysterically and laughfin and get crazy funny happy
My head canon is right after the video ends he accelerates to max speed and breaches the water to bring that dude on his board down. Seeing as he is a basking shark instead of eating him he allows his Evil intent to flow and just holds him down at the bottom until he drowns, gifting his body to the Shark God Bruce who made his debut in Finding Nemo.

shark lover Boii WHAT THE HECK IS A BASKING SHARK¿¡¿ A shark is a shark
@@wowsoamazing349 its a type of shark that doesnt eat humans, only plankton.
What kind of shark is that?
basking shark.

Everyone keeps saying it's harmless to humans. Did it tell you that? Look at the size of that thing. Why is it so harmless? Is it's mouth closed?
How lucky to see this magnificent creature although I’d be somewhat concerned for its well being being this close to shore in a harbour & circling as if confused or lost these people shout scream & throw rocks!..... & they say we’ve evolved!....
