What a coward! Three years is better than 20. Kills me how people will spend unnecessary time in prison to save face rather than get well deserved justice for someone else; especially their lover.
And that is why "Pride" is one of the "seven deadly sins."
It's not about saving face - he said he wasn't a snitch. If people find out that you snitched, they don't trust you anymore, you get phased out of groups, and then the people you snitched on find a way to kill you, even in prison (since he'd still get 3 years). In his mind, considering the world he lives in, it's better to go to court because then, if he gets off free, it's not because he snitched, and then he can get justice for Eva on the streets. If he goes to prison, he still won't have snitched, which means he'll be safe in prison, and might even be accepted by other groups because he's a hip hop artist who didn't snitch. He might even get access to people who could help him get justice for Eva from prison. From his perspective, snitching doesn't serve a purpose for him except to put him in danger, even if Eva gets justice. And how can the legal system or police even guarantee that Eva will get justice through those channels? By not snitching, he gets the opportunity to exact his own form of justice without police or legal interference.
@@KR-by9bo People use that "snitch" defense all the time. If your friends bail on you for reporting something like that, it's a strong possibility they aren't very good friends. And suppose that everything went right for them--if you got killed, who do you think they would look at first? Truth will out, and they're already shown to be capable of murder. Murder is much more expensive than a smear campaign.

It may have something to do with prison hierarchies. But yeah in this type of case I'd snitch & probably ask for a deal with longer parole in exchange for less or no prison time if I suspected I might get killed in jail.

The problem is everyone would know. His reputation would be toast, and a lot of rappers wouldn't want to work with him. So what would he have? There is no guarantee him and Eva would worked out. They aren't married. She can't have children, how would he approach the subject with papers, radio shows etc. It's not like he can pretend she isn't a guy, TMZ exists and they be all over this type of story. I don't know what I would do in this scenario. If he decided to take the three years, he have to tell the whole story in open court. His family and friends would be beside themselves. And he would have a target on his back. To sum it up he would have traded one prison for another.

Because sadly he tells all he's dead anyway. Poor lad. His music and all his work stolen and he's left in a cell petrafied. My son. Can't imagine the pain these lads feel. People just don't realise the pain and fear these boys live in. It really ain't that simple. She's pushing him to tell he tells he's dead. He dont he loses his lifes work and spends the rest of his days behind bars and probably just a good lad fell in with the wrong crowd. Horrible world we live in.
