Piztiak is a Basque song by the traditional folk band 'Alboka' and It is actually one of my favorites from the basque folk tradition. I discovered it through the Band @Kalakantelebista, and then the original version by Alboka Taldea. This is the arrangement @IanFontovaand I prepared for our busking trip across the Basque Pyrenees this year. Hope you enjoy it!

Such beautiful music and a lovely togue. Many similarities with Irish music. I'm from Dublin born and bred and used to live in Bilbao. Irish and Basque people are good friends. We say in Irish Gaelic: "Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam" (A country without a language is a country without a soul)

The Celtics invaded the Basque and stole half of their culture and then portrayed it as their own just like the foot dance that the Irish claim is theirs. It's not if you do your research you will find the ancient dance of the Basque people and you will see the truth that is so evident that it's painful. The Basque are friendly to the Irish possibly now and some Basque want nothing to do with the Irish due to history and the lies that the Irish & Celtics have told to restore their invasions and culture stealing tactics.

@Towlie And I don't have an Armenian last name. Many patronyms have been lost over time, be it in marriage or to name changes, and many more will be in the future. That doesn't stop the ethnic and cultural heritage they carry from being a part of one's bloodline.

No matter if you lose the tongue, you'll be forever consider honorary Basques in our perspective. Pau was the last Navarre capital, occitan was as talked as euskera in the kingdom and the topology between Garona and Iber rivers its basically all euskeric names.
Actually you are basques too, in fact todays baque region was more celtic- Aquitaine was more basque on the past than todays basque region, the tribes suchs as Barduli were quite celtic, meanwhile in aquitainathe Auscii tribe were the Euski and its capital Elumberrum meant Ili berri , new city, the Elusate tribe also has obvious basque roots, . Todays basque might be a dialect of Aquitan. -Ekitaina-after the fall of the roman empire and the arrival of germanic and eastern barbarians, the Aquitain people migrated south and VAsconized the more celtic north spanish tribes of the coast (not navarre)

I'm here for an interesting reason.
The origin of my last name Erazo, is from Basque and I felt the need to find folklore music from Basque.
When I listened to this, it reminded me of Andean music (Musica Andina) and I have always felt very close to it.

Erazo looks like a misspelling of Eraso, which is a common Basque surname originating in the village of Eraso in the province of Navarra
Fun fact: "eraso" in Basque also means "attack", but this is just a coincidence and is not the root of the town's name, which is believed to originate in the word meaning "fern" that later got distorted

My first time hearing this song, or even this type of music. As I listened to the spiritual serenade, I vividly envisioned ancestral European giants marching over grassy rolling hills. Perhaps from Valhalla, or Zerua. How I wish we could call upon our unconquerable ancestors in this age.

That is because their people were so small in number and were invaded countlessly by different people's......first by the Roman's (Roman Catholic Empire), Celtics (Second) and last but not least the Arabs (Third into Spain) and due to the fact that the Basque spoke their own language of which is recognized as indigenous and categorized as such due to their peoples being listed as (Pre indo European/Prior to Roman Catholic Invasion) so the original language of Euskadi/Euskara (Basque Language) was used much less than in Spain than Castilian of which is NOT the same language. So basicly between population size and only a small amount of the Spains 🇪🇸 population speaking Basque the language is becoming forgotten and isn't popular and as efficiently used like (Spanish for instance) enough to be recognized by larger platforms like Google translation etc. So translating Euskara IS HARD.
