Are you taking most of your inspiration from the voice actor marc dairison or are you doing your own take and direction on it?
@@Reoko77 At first, my approach was to be something akin to Marc Dairison. But over the months I began developing my own take on the voice with some other inspirations from other characters (Mainly the grunginess Bardock from Dragonball & the ferocity of Sung Jin Woo from Solo Leveling mixed in with some of Marc. Of course while giving it my own flair).

Berserk Fanbase literally had to make their own adaptation because no other Japanese studio will is probably the most based thing any anime fanbase could do.

Too bad it’s literally just going to be castlevania 2.0 with how much they’re copying the animation style from the Netflix anime. Also some animations errors, clearly an issue in storyboarding, like with the rosine fight. Guts swings at nothing, then it cuts to him walking like nothing happened then cuts back to Rosie flying at him. There’s no pacing and the fight doesn’t seem properly choreographed
It’s mostly how berserk is a Hercules task to get it right because any tiny mistakes ruins the bunch

@@buongiorno9714 for real. big name studios wont touch those scenes because there is too much risk involved because people today are easily offended by such scenes. the fact they are doing it means they dont give a damn about the risks and are dedicated to a true adaptation which is exactly what the fanbase has wanted for YEARS now.
@@moviemaker2011z I think the scene is important because despite the fact that corkus was a douche who hated guts, it shows that guts weirdly respected him and still thought of him as a member of the hawks. So he killed the succubus not just for his hatred of the apostle, but out of revenge for him.

Honestly the low frame rate actually looks really good for this style, I remember they did something similar with Into the Spiderverse where they held the frames double length to give it more of a comic book feel.
It can work if done with intent and consistent style. Just making animation choppy for the sake of being choppy gets you Dragon Prince season 1 where it's just distracting and feels cheap.
In that movie, average people without super powers moved at a lower frame rate, and Miles' frame rate increases as the movie progresses to show him growing in skill. Animation with a low frame rate doesn't make it look like a comic or anything else other than an animation with a low frame rate, just like how 30 frames per second doesn't make a game look "more cinematic."

I think they have the general look down. What I think they are struggling with is definitely depth when it comes to certain scenes as mentioned. I hope they nail it, I am currently reading through Black Swordsman again but through the Deluxe Edition that came through the mail last week.
There’s certain parts that looks really good but they still need to work on animating it and they did pretty well with the shading in certain scenes but regardless they did really well on this project.🐱
It already looks better than those two "CGI" seasons, props for that at least. If they managed to do the whole adaptation at this level of quality i would be satisfied. The music could be better (i hope they at least try to use some of the old anime soundtrack).

I disagree, I'd watch the 2013 adaptation over this one 100% of the time. It's drop dead gorgeous, and the CGI only has two scenes that genuinely bug me.
"but 1997 better" lets not start that debate, I started with the manga, they're all just extraneous adaptations to me. I like them all for what they're good at and dislike what they're bad at.
my favorite part is when Loli said "It's Berk'in Time!" and then he proceeded to Berk all over the stream.

Studio Taka had the chance to do just a motion comic but had to keep adding animations and more fluid movement to the images. If they had just stuck with the simple animating of the first episode we could've been at the golden age arc by now.
Nothing will ever beat 97 Black Swordsman, the chances of us seeing an animated Fantasia arc in our lifetime is getting slim. However we can always appreciate Guts in any form

There is a lot of talent put into this project, and the animation looks leagues beyond Castlevania; idk i guess i'll be cautiously optimistic and just a bit hyped considering that it could go wrong and suck in the end.

A fan has made their own episodes of the black swordsman arch of Berzerk in the style and feel of the original 90's anime, and they do it perfectly, their channel is Arche, they just have the first 2 full lenth episode with music very fitting for the time or the og.

I’m pretty cringe-sensitive towards this kind of thing but it looks alright…tentatively pleased. I won’t mind if the animation isn’t 100% consistently professional since we bitch about the official adaptations anyway.

I'm glad to live in a time where there's at least 3 groups having a go at adapting the same series and each taking their own approach to it.
Every fan project should just take up one episode each, we'll catch up to the manga in no time

@AlmightyLoli I'm surprised you paid attention to this one over Studio Taka. Though i get they have only made a few episodes over the past few years but they did a big overhaul and seem to have into some money. By their own words in their recent announcement They said they want to continue the project closer to an anime rather than a motion comic like they had been, (even though i thought they were doing amazing with it aside from a few small CGI moments here and there. The demon baby nightmare scene in Episode 3 is absolutely phenomenal.)
The little bit they teased looks great, and their previous episodes for the motion comic have amazing sound design, crisp animations (aside from a few moments of CGI) and the guy who plays Guts has to be the most fitting voice for the guy I have ever heard both in dub or sub I love it.
Studio Eclipse seems like they want to do it justice but imo nothing compares to Miura's art so the closer it gets to the OC the better.

I already saw another project with the last scenes of the Eclipse and the first chapter the very first scenes when Guts encounters that old man and his daughter travelling thru the forest and it was in english and in the style of 97s anime.

isnt the succubus blonde? im glad we get the succubus and the not-baphomet orgy, since i was worried if we didnt get the succubus, other stuff (ie, the orgy) would be cut out too. also, remember this is a fan project, and its still in development, for all we know the finished product will be better animated.
While it is not the same, Studio Taka makes the animating the mangapages far smoother and nicer. I guess this has to be more personal style to not risk copyrighting or something, but I feel like something is just wrong in how it's made. Characters feel like they're been slimmed and elongated and the colours are definitely off.

There’s only really two issues I have with the trailer: the first is that the animation seems a bit stilted and stiff in places. This is to be expected, however, as it’s a time/money issue, I think. So I’m not that up in arms about it.
The other issue is that there’s simply *not enough high contrast.* I think this was also a problem in the Millennial Falcon movies? But it’s been a while since I’ve watched those. Either way, Berserk should absolutely make heavy use of strong, stark blacks and deep shadows. It’s very much a part of the series’ character. Obviously, this is part of finding one’s footing, but I long to see those haunting black voids of shadow looming around key scenes.
One thing I should mention I really like, though, is that “striking flame” effect used with Guts. It’s a visual treat, and I love it. Very, very good work on that. Otherwise I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Have u seen the other Berserk anime fan project? The one that seems to be continuing the Berserk '97 anime?
Funny how the Arche animation movement looks better and is all done by one person (Monochampu). Either way, got 2 fan projects that are sticking to the source material as close as possible without sacrificing the source material, and Kouji Mori is finishing Kentaro's work for him so Berserk fans are eating good right now.

If we don't get a bit where Guts flashes back to Casca's "It's all your fault" when he hears the Count's daughter say it, and THAT turns out to be what drives him to tears in the final scene, I'll be so pissed, because that means they just missed a brilliant opportunity to connect what was essentially the pilot arc, and the arc where the story REALLY begins. That's such a perfect idea that my jaw will hit the floor if it doesn't see the light of day.

It’s too safe, like they’re obsessed with keeping Muira’s art intact rather than taking advantage of the animation medium.
Why would that be a bad thing? If they manage to keep the detailed art style from the manga and find a balance with making the characters' movements look fluid, then it could be a home run.
